Abstract

An organization must have the ability to implement its work programs effectively. To execute an organization's work programs, a significant number of people are needed. Therefore, the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Leadership (PCNU) of Padang Lawas conducts member recruitment through kader penggerak (mobilizing cadres). Member recruitment is essential to ensure the continuity of an organization so that it remains active and operational. The recruitment strategy is a series of fundamental decisions and actions made by the organization's management to help formulate policies and organizational goals. The theories used in this thesis include the constructivist paradigm, organizational culture theory, and persuasive communication theory. The objective of this study is to identify the strategies used in the participant recruitment process. This research employs the ethnomethodology approach, which is a set of methods within qualitative research that focuses on the interpretation of practical reality. Ethnomethodological research is classified as qualitative research because it produces descriptive data obtained through the observation of speech, writing, and the behavior of the research subjects. Within the framework of qualitative research, ethnomethodology serves as a theoretical foundation for a research method. Based on the research conducted by the author, the Nahdlatul Ulama of Padang Lawas Regency has implemented three strategies in recruiting kader penggerak participants. The first strategy is through engaging messages, the second is through social media outreach on platforms such as Facebook, and the third is utilizing mass media by broadcasting on Namora FM 99.5 radio and inviting influential figures.

Abstract

Adanya fenomena juru dakwah yang berdakwah melalui media sosial YouTube, memberikan jalan penulis untuk melakukan penelitian ini pada mahasiswa Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam angkatan 2020-2021 Fakultas Dakwah dan Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Islam Negeri Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. Ada dua Tujuan dari penelitian ini, yang pertama untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan media sosial YouTube sebagai sarana dakwah, yang kedua untuk mengetahui apa saja motif penggunaan media sosial YouTube sebagai saran dakwah. Jenis penelitian ini kualitatif deskriptif menggambarkan fenomena atau kenyataan yang ada, dan memperhatikan kualitas, karakteristik dan keterkaitan antar kegiatan. Kajian teori yang digunakan adalah Uses and Gratifications Theory yaitu teori yang memperhatikan apa yang dilakukan khalayak terhadap media yang digunakan, kemudian pada penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan desain penelitian fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan mahasiswa KPI angkatan 2020-2021 sudah menggunakan YouTube sebagai sarana dakwah dengan mengunggah beberapa konten dakwah di YouTube Channel masing-masing, namun sebagian besar konten dakwah tersebut merupakan kebutuhan tugas kuliah yang apabila tugas tersebut terpenuhi, konten dakwah yang sudah ada tidak dilanjutkan. Kemudian motif yang mendasari penggunaan YouTube dalam berdakwah yaitu motif kebutuhan mahasiswa, motif jumlah penonton dan subscriber, dan motif hiburan.

Abstract

The age restrictions for first-time voters and the age requirements for electoral candidates in Indonesia have become topics of discussion and debate. One such debate revolves around the Constitutional Court's (MK) Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023, which allows individuals under 40 years of age to run for president (capres) or vice president (cawapres), as long as they have experience as a regional head. The Supreme Court has also ruled on the minimum age for governor and deputy governor candidates, setting it at 30 years old, as outlined in Decision Number 23 P/HUM/2024. This study aims to analyze the shift in the paradigm regarding age restrictions for first-time voters in the context of Maqashid Syariah. The research employs a normative legal method with a statute approach to examine the paradigm shift in the regulation of age restrictions for voting rights and explores the implications of this shift on electoral justice and the integrity of political leaders, analyzed through the Maqashid Syariah approach. The findings of this study conclude that age restrictions on voting rights need to be relaxed, as age is no longer a determinant of a citizen's maturity in thinking. In Islam, politics is intended to bring about public benefit in line with the objectives of shariah, as the principle states that the actions of a leader towards their people must be based on the common good. The age restrictions need to be re-evaluated, considering the principle that the original legal status of something is its nonexistence, meaning that the original legal basis for age restrictions on voting and candidacy does not exist. Another principle suggests that legal rulings (fatwas) can change due to changes in time, place, conditions, and objectives (intent). Therefore, it is necessary to re-evaluate the paradigm shift in the regulation of age restrictions for first-time voters to ensure fair elections and local elections for both candidates and voters.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji penggunaan media sosial TikTok sebagai sarana dakwah di kalangan mahasiswa Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam Angkatan 2020 dan 2021. Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan utama: pertama, untuk mengetahui bagaimana mahasiswa memanfaatkan TikTok sebagai media dakwah, dan kedua, untuk mengidentifikasi motivasi yang mendasari keputusan mereka dalam menggunakan TikTok untuk tujuan tersebut. Teori yang digunakan adalah Uses and Gratification, yang berfokus pada alasan individu dalam memilih media tertentu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode fenomenologi, yang memungkinkan peneliti untuk memahami pengalaman subyektif mahasiswa dalam memproduksi dan menyebarkan konten dakwah melalui TikTok. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, dengan informan yang dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam memanfaatkan TikTok dengan membuat konten dakwah sendiri atau memposting ulang konten dari kreator lain. Motivasi utama mereka termasuk keinginan untuk mendapatkan pahala, membagikan ilmu agama, dan memberikan hiburan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana TikTok digunakan sebagai alat dakwah dan alasan di balik pemilihan platform ini oleh mahasiswa.   This article examines the use of TikTok social media as a means of da'wah among Islamic Communication and Broadcasting students in the Class of 2020 and 2021. This research has two main objectives: first, to find out how students utilize TikTok as a medium for da'wah, and second, to identify the motivations underlying their decision to use TikTok for that purpose. The theory used is Uses and Gratification, which focuses on why individuals choose certain media. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, which allows researchers to understand the subjective experiences of university students in producing and disseminating da'wah content through TikTok. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive sampling. The results showed that Islamic Communication and Broadcasting students utilize TikTok by creating da'wah content or reposting content from other creators. Their primary motivations include gaining rewards, sharing religious knowledge, and providing entertainment. This research provides insight into how TikTok is used as a da'wah tool and the reasons behind students' selection of this platform.

Abstract

The growing digital era brings significant changes in various aspects of life, including education. In today's digital age, social media is essential in multiple aspects of life, including communication and learning. Social media has become part of the lifestyle of today's society and provides many conveniences for humans in communication. This study examines the potential of social media as a communication and learning tool. Concepts such as blended learning, gamification, and e-tutoring will be put forward to help teachers and students optimize the benefits of social media in education. This article will also discuss the challenges of using social media as a school communication and learning tool. This study uses a qualitative method by collecting interviews and observation data from social media users. The results showed that social media could increase communication and learning effectiveness and raise several problems, such as privacy and hoaxes. Therefore, it is essential to properly understand and control social media use as optimally as possible as a communication and learning tool.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was made with the aim of seeing what kind of use of social media instagram as a means of da'wah and what are the reasons for students of the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program, class of 2020-2021, Faculty of Da'wah and Science.Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program class of 2020-2021 Faculty of Da'wah and Science Communication State Islamic University Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. The method used used in this study is descriptive qualitative using a phenomenological approach.  analysis used in this research is the Uses and Gratifications theory. Gratifications theory. The results of this study show that students use Instagram as a means of da'wah. In the process of using Instagram as a means of da'wah, it can be in the form of stories with captions containing preaching messages, reposting preaching messages through instastory, and uploading photos or videos with captions that contain preaching messages. Pisau analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Uses and  Gratifications. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa  menggunakan Instagram sebagai sarana dakwah. Dalam proses penggunaannya Instagram sebagai sarana dakwah dapat berupa story dengan caption yang memuat pesan dakwah, merepost pesan dakwah melalui instastory, dan menggungah foto atau video dengan caption yang memuat pesan dakwah. Alasan yang mendasari Mahasiswa Program Studi Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam menggunakan media sosial Instagram sebagai sarana dakwah ialah Instagram menampilkan fitur yang menarik, jangkaun yang cukup luas, dan Instagram tidak terikat oleh waktu. Kata kunci: Sarana Dakwah, Mahasiswa, Media Sosial, Instagram

Abstract

Media massa berperan penting dalam membentuk opini publik, termasuk dalam pemahaman syariah. Baik media tradisional maupun digital menjadi saluran utama informasi agama, namun disertai dengan meningkatnya disinformasi yang mempengaruhi persepsi masyarakat. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran media dalam membangun narasi syariah di tengah disinformasi, serta promosi moderasi beragama melalui literasi dan informasi valid. Dengan teori agenda setting dan framing, media dapat memengaruhi cara masyarakat melihat isu keagamaan. Media perlu lebih proaktif menyaring informasi, bekerja sama dengan akademisi dan ulama, serta mendukung narasi syariah yang inklusif.

Abstract

This study examines the rhetorical construction of religious moderation in the Log In program on Deddy Corbuzier’s YouTube channel. Amidst the polarization of digital religion, this research analyzes how Islamic values are framed to appeal to diverse audiences. Using a qualitative design that combines virtual ethnography and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), the researcher observed and transcribed 30 episodes of the program. The analysis applies Aristotelian rhetorical theory (ethos, pathos, and logos) to explore how credibility, emotional appeal, and logical argumentation are articulated through language style, humor, and narrative strategies. The findings reveal that Habib Husein integrates these rhetorical elements in a balanced manner, producing religious messages that are rational, engaging, and socially relevant. His rhetoric reflects an adaptive style that aligns with the interactive and monetized nature of YouTube. Beyond descriptive insights, this study contributes theoretically by demonstrating how Aristotelian rhetoric operates within the political economy of digital media, where religious messages function simultaneously as spiritual guidance and commodified content.
