Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on learning outcomes in Webbed integrated learning at elementary schools. Webbed integrated learning is an approach that integrates multiple subjects into a single learning theme, while PBL is a learning method that emphasizes real-world problem-solving within the learning context. The research employed an experimental design with a Post-test Only Control Group Design. The sample consisted of third-grade students in Gugus VI, Kuranji District, Padang City, with two groups: an experimental group comprising 20 students and a control group comprising 20 students. The experimental group implemented the PBL model in Webbed integrated learning, while the control group used conventional learning in Webbed integrated learning. Learning outcome data were obtained through written tests that covered cognitive and affective aspects of integrated learning. Data analysis was conducted using an independent t-test to compare the learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups. The results showed a significant difference in the average learning outcomes of Webbed-integrated learning using the PBL model compared to the average learning outcomes of Webbed-integrated learning using conventional learning based on the results of the independent sample t-test, which yielded a sig value of 0.00 < 0.05 and a t-value > t-table with a t-value of 5.463 and a t-table value of 2.024. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the PBL model has an impact on learning outcomes in Webbed integrated learning.

Abstract

Challenges and changes in the 21st century require students to have 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, and Creativity). These 4C skills are closely related to HOTS or higher-order thinking skills. Familiarizing students with HOTS skills in making decisions will be able to act quickly and efficiently compared to students who are less trained in HOTS thinking. These HOTS skills should be loaded into RADEC-based teaching materials. However, its application is still not optimal at the SD level. This study aimed to develop teaching materials based on the RADEC model (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain and Create) to improve the good high-order thinking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. The model used in this development research is the 4-D development model. It is a model that defines, designs, develop, and distributes information. Sixty-one fifth-grade students from SDN 35 Payakumbuh, SDN 13 Payakumbuh and SDN 07 Payakumbuh participated in this study. The products developed are tested for validity using validation sheets from material experts, linguists, and media experts. This validation sheet is used to determine the validity of their answers. Material expert validation scored 94% in the "very valid" category. For linguists, it was 95% in the "very valid" category, and media experts got 93% in the "very valid" category. This proves that RADEC Model-Based Teaching Materials To Increase Student HOTS Class V SD should properly be used as teaching materials in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research analyzes the phenomenon of code-switching and code-mixing and its relationship with social identity in the Yowis Ben series. This study aims to identify the forms of code-switching and code-mixing and explain how these language variations represent the social identity of the characters. The data in this study were collected using the listening technique (observation of conversations in the film) and the note-taking technique (transcripts of dialogs with code-switching and code-mixing elements). The results show that code-switching and code-mixing in Yowis Ben Series occur between Javanese, Indonesian, and English, which are influenced by situation, context, and social. The use of these language variations not only functions as a means of communication, but also reflects the character's identity, such as ethnicity, social class, and generation. This finding strengthens the view that language choice in interactions between characters in the Yowis Ben series can be a marker of the identity of a multilingual society.
