Abstract

Previous studies have demonstrated that technology helps achieve learning outcomes. However, many studies focus on just one aspect of technology’s role in educational assessment practices, leaving a gap in studies that examine how various aspects affect the use of technology in assessments. Hence, through a systematic work, we analyzed the extent and manner in which technology is integrated into educational assessments and how education level, domain of learning, and region may affect the use of technology. We reviewed empirical studies from two major databases (i.e., Scopus and ERIC) and a national journal whose focus and scope are on educational measurement and assessment, following PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews. The findings of the present study are directed towards emphasizing the roles of technology in educational assessment practices and how these roles are adapted to varying educational contexts such as the level of education, the three domains of learning (i.e., cognitive, psychomotor, and affective), and the setting in which the assessment was conducted. These findings not only highlight the current roles of technology in educational assessment but also provide a roadmap for future research aimed at optimizing the integration of technology across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Both  the  abstract  mathematical   concept  and who are  in the  stage  of operasional    concrete    thinking    need   teaching   media   to   bridge   the   gap. Teaching  media  is  one  of the  alternatives   used  by teachers  in  elementary schools.   The   objective    of   this   research    is   to   improve    the   learning mathematics  quality  by means  of appropriate  media. This  is action  research   consists  of three  cycles.  The  subject  of the research   is   19  first   grade   students   of  SD  Negeri   Palbapang    J  Bantul Yogyakarta. The result  shows  that  (1) using  the  appropriatte  teaching  media  canimprove   the   students'    activity    in   learning   mathematics.    By   using   the teaching  media,  the  teacher   can  be  more  creative  in solving  the  students' learning  problems.   (2)  The  main  handicap   in using  teaching   media  in the learning   and  teaching   process   is  time   constraint,   lacking   of  media   and teachers     capability      creating      and     developing           media.      (3)     The students'difficulty    in learning  mathematics   can be solved  by teaching  using media.Key words:  media, susceptible teaching  material,  mathematics

Abstract

A Community Service activity entitled "Diffusion of Innovations of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education to Mathematics Teachers of Junior High School (SMP) in Sleman Regency through Lesson Study" aims at diffusing Innovations of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia: PMRI) to Mathematics Teachers of SMP in Sleman Regency who are actively participating in SubjectBased Teachers Group (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran: MGMP) of Mathematics. The diffusion is conducted through Lesson Study. Specifically, this PPM activity aims at improving understanding of mathematics teachers as participants on excellences of PMRI and Lesson Study and increasing teachers' willingness to implement PMRI in the Lesson Study format. Objects of the study were 25 mathematics teachers of SMP in Sleman Regency actively participating in MGMP. The first activity was socialization on PMRI and Lesson Study. It was conducted on July 12, 2012 in the Mathematics Education Laboratory and was joined by 25 participants. The second activity was in a workshop on Development of Learning Tools and the implementation of the plan phase which was conducted on July 26, 2012 in the Mathematics Education Laboratory with 25 participants. Meanwhile, the third activity was the implementation of the do and see phase conducted on August 9, 2012 at SMP Muhammadiyah III Depok Sleman with 25 participants. In the beginning and the end of the activity, all participants were given written questions to reveal their understanding on PMRI and Lesson Study. In the end of the activity, questions were added about advantages of PMRI and Lesson Study. All participants of the activity stated that PMRI and Lesson Study are very advantageous for students and teachers. All of them also committed to implement PMRI in the Lesson Study format. Considering the results above, it can be concluded that this PPM activity is successful to improve the understanding of mathematics teachers as participants on excellences of PMRI and Lesson Study and also works to increase their willingness to implement PMRI in the Lesson study format. In addition, all participants also hope on the follow-up of this activity. Therefore, Department of Education, Youth and Sport of Sleman Regency and UNY (Yogyakarta State University) need to establish cooperation to facilitate the implementation of PMRI in the Lesson Study format for mathematics teachers of SMP in Sleman Regency. Keywords: realistic mathematics education, and mathematics lesson study

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of Outdoor Learning Math using GPS-based mobile technology-assisted math traces on students' problem solving and mathematical communication skills, describe the effect of Outdoor Learning Math using GPS-based mobile technology-assisted math traces on problem solving skills, and describe the effect of Outdoor Learning Math using GPS-based mobile technology-assisted math traces on students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is Quasi Experimental using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Malinau, North Kalimantan City with 60 students from two 9th grade classes. The instruments used in this study were descriptive test questions of problem solving ability, mathematical communication and observation sheets for the implementation of Outdoor Learning Math learning activities using GPS-based mobile technology-assisted math traces. The results showed that there was an effect of Outdoor Learning Math using GPS-based mobile technology-assisted math traces on students' problem solving and mathematical communication skills together, there was no effect of Outdoor Learning Math using mobile technology-assisted math traces on problem solving skills, and there was no effect of Outdoor Learning Math using GPS-based mobile technology-assisted math traces on mathematical communication skills. Therefore, for future researchers to expand the scope of materials such as geometry, statistics and probability, algebra, arithmetic and add student motivation variables.
