Abstract

ABSTRACT Prevalence of hypertension and diabetes in Indonesia has increased every year. This disease can be controlled if the patient regularly checks blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Some constraints such as access to health care and costs are some of the factors that cause people not to control regularly or the community does not conduct an examination for early detection of the disease. The role of health cadres can be optimized to be able to check blood pressure and blood sugar levels through training conducted through community service activities. ABSTRAK Prevalensi hipertensi dan kencing manis di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Penyakit ini dapat terkontrol apabila penderita secara rutin melakukan pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan kadar gula darah. Beberapa kendala seperti akses ke layanan kesehatan dan biaya merupakan beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan penderita tidak kontrol secara rutin atau masyarakat tidak melakukan pemeriksaan untuk deteksi dini penyakit. Peran kader kesehatan dapat dioptimalkan untuk dapat melakukan pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan kadar gula darah melalui pelatihan yang diadakan melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini.

Abstract

Tubuh manusia memerlukan kolesterol untuk terus memproduksi sel-sel yang sehat. Kadar kolesterol tinggi dalam darah bisa meningkatkan risiko penyakit jantung seseorang, karena timbunan lemak pada pembuluh darah. Timbunan lemak ini akan menghambat aliran darah dalam arteri, sehingga jantung bisa tidak mendapatkan pasokan darah kaya oksigen yang dibutuhkan. Hiperkolesterolemia tidak menunjukkan gejala apa pun. Satu-satunya cara untuk mendeteksi hiperkolesterolemia adalah dengan tes darah. Upaya skrining hiperkolesterolemia membutuhkan partisipasi dari semua pihak, baik dokter pemerintah, swasta maupun masyarakat diperlukan agar hiperkolesterolemia dapat dikendalikan. Sebagian besar masyarakat enggan untuk melakukan skrining hiperkolesterolemia. Penyebab keengganan tersebut beragam, mulai dari aspek biaya, keterjangkauan ke lokasi pemeriksaan, keterbatasan sarana prasarana maupun aspek waktu. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat untuk memfasilitasi hal tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 September 2018, berupa pemeriksaan pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan kadar kolesterol pada masyarakat umum yang sedang berkunjung ke Taman Jomlo Kota Jambi pada hari minggu, dimana pada hari tersebut, masyarakat kota Jambi ramai berkunjung ke Taman Jomlo untuk berolah raga. Jumlah masyarakat yang ikut serta dalam pemeriksaan ini adalah 105 orang. Pemeriksaan dilakukan menggunakan alat cek kolesterol digital easy tauch dan setelah itu, partisipan dapat berkonsultasi dengan tim pengabdian serta juga mendapat pengobatan jika tekanan darahnya dan kadar kolesterolnya melebihi batas normal.

Jumlah masyarakat yang ikut serta dalam pemeriksaan ini adalah 98 orang. Pemeriksaan dilakukan menggunakan alat cek kolesterol digital easy tauch dan setelah itu, partisipan dapat berkonsultasi dengan tim pengabdian serta juga mendapat pengobatan jika tekanan darahnya dan kadar kolesterolnya melebihi batas normal. Abstract

ABSTRACT Diabetes and Gout Arthritis are diseases where the number of sufferers has increased quite high every year. Both diseases are very much influenced by a person's diet and lifestyle. The low level of public interest in doing regular screening of blood sugar and blood uric acid levels as indicators to determine the incidence of diabetes and gout arthritis are one of the factors in the increasing number of these diseases from year to year. The reasons for this reluctance were varied, starting from the aspect of cost, affordability to the location of the inspection, limited infrastructure and time aspects. For this reason, community service activities are necessary to facilitate this. This activity was carried out on September 1, 2020, in the form of checking blood sugar and uric acid levels in the Mendalo Darat community and UNJA staff / lecturers at the Pinang Masak Polyclinic, Jambi University. This activity uses the easy tauch digital tool and after that, participants can consult with the health workers we have prepared and also receive treatment if their blood sugar and uric acid levels exceed normal limits. The number of participants who took part in this examination were 104 people from the community, employees and lecturers in the UNJA environment. This activity is carried out by implementing strict health protocols related to the prevention of Covid-19 transmission. From the results of blood sugar tests, 9% were in the abnormal category and 43% were in the abnormal category for uric acid tests. Key words: blood sugar levels, uric acid levels

Abstract

ABSTRACT Gout Arthritis is a disease that the number of sufferers each year has increased quite high. The disease is strongly influenced by a person's diet and lifestyle. The low public interest in screening blood uric acid levels as an indicator to determine the incidence of gout arthritis is one of the factors that increase the number of these diseases from year to year. The reasons for this reluctance are various, ranging from cost aspects, affordability to the examination location, limited infrastructure and time aspects. For this reason, community service activities need to be carried out to facilitate this. This activity was checking blood uric acid levels for general public at the Inti Sehat Medika Jambi clinic, carried out on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Blood uric acid test using a digital tool “easy touch”, then participants can consult with the health workers and also receive treatment if their uric acid levels exceed normal limits. The number of participants who took part were 31 people, 9 men (29.03%) and 22 women (70.97%). The age of the most participants was 20-29 years as many as 9 people (29.03%) and the age of the least participants was 50-59 years as many as 2 people (6.45%). The results of the examination of normal uric acid levels were found in 12 participants (38.71%) and 19 people (61.29%). Keywords: uric acid level, Gout Arthritis ABSTRAK Gout Arthritis merupakan penyakit yang jumlah penderitanya setiap tahun mengalami peningkatan yang cukup tinggi. Penyakit tersebut sangat dipengaruhi oleh pola makan dan pola hidup seseorang. Rendahnya minat masyarakat dalam melakukan skrening kadar asam urat darah sebagai salah satu indikator untuk mengatahui kejadian penyakit gout arthritis menjadi salah satu faktor meningkatnya angka penyakit tersebut dari tahun ke tahun. Penyebab keengganan tersebut beragam, mulai dari aspek biaya, keterjangkauan ke lokasi pemeriksaan, keterbatasan sarana prasarana maupun aspek waktu. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat untuk memfasilitasi hal tersebut. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada hari sabtu, 30 Oktober 2021. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan berupa pemeriksaan kadar asam urat darah pada masyarakat umum di klinik Inti Sehat Medika Jambi. Kegiatan ini menggunakan alat digital easy touch dan setelah itu, partisipan dapat berkonsultasi dengan tenaga kesehatan yang telah kita disiapkan serta juga mendapat pengobatan jika kadar asam uratnya melebihi batas normal. Jumlah peserta yang ikut menjadi partisipan adalah 31 orang, 9 orang laki-laki (29,03%) dan 22 orang perempuan (70,97%). Usia partisipan terbanyak adalah 20-29 tahun yaitu sebanyak 9 orang (29,03%) dan usia partisipan paling sedikit adalah 50-59 tahun yaitu sebanyak 2 orang (6,45%). Hasil pemeriksaan kadar asam urat yang normal ditemukan pada 12 orang partisipan (38,71%) dan yang tidak normal sebanyak 19 orang (61,29%). Kata kunci: Kadar asam urat, Gout Arthritis

Abstract

ABSTRACT Scabies is a skin disease that is often found in Indonesia caused by Sarcoptes scabei. The prevalence of scabies in Islamic boarding school environments in Jambi is around 4.9%. Sandra Widaty et al. from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, have developed a Deskab (Early Detection of Scabies) form that can be used by ordinary people (cadres) very easily, and the results are relatively similar to those carried out by medical personnel. The method is to present cadres and resource persons, conduct a pretest, provide scabies material, posttest, and training on how to directly apply the Deskab form by cadres and be assessed by a doctor. There were 18 participants from four Islamic boarding schools. The majority of participants were male (67%) and adults (19-59 years) (67%). The average pretest and posttest score was 79.64 (80%) and 83.78 (83%). The average score for the Deskab results is 95.12 (95%), and all cadres have a score above 79. All cadres are declared to have passed and are expected to be able to carry out early detection screening on santri so that efforts to control scabies in the work area of the Tahtul Yaman Health Center can be realized as planned. Abstract

Low back pain is a common degenerative illness among the elderly, significantly impacting their quality of life and independence. Insufficient understanding of effective management frequently worsens the disease. The objective of this community service program was to enhance comprehension of low back pain among elderly and their caregivers at the Olak Kemang Public Health Centre in Jambi City. The programme consisted of an instructional session with 41 participants utilising a multidisciplinary-developed interactive visual module, accompanied by a practical demonstration of stretching exercises. A pre- and post-test design was used to quantitatively evaluate the alteration in participants' knowledge. The data were examined with the Wilcoxon and Pearson chi-square tests. The findings indicated a statistically significant enhancement in participants' knowledge, with the median score increasing from 60 (range: 30-80) in the pre-test to 85 (range: 50-100) in the post-test (p < 0.001). The number of participants who attained a passing score (≥70%) rose considerably from 19 to 31 (p = 0.007). The interactive visual education program effectively enhances awareness regarding lowback pain among the elderly and their caregivers. This strategy is highly recommended for implementation in other community health programs. Keywords: Low back pain; caregiver; health education; elderly
