Abstract

The meaning of space is one aspect of a successful public space which is seen by social interaction between users of the space. Existence of social interaction in residential areas as living spaces with a relatively high density and proximity can support the vitality of urban areas. The purpose of this study is to obtain a relationship between the formation of public space and the activities of the inhabitant or community, especially in riverbank settlements. Qualitative research methods are used to get a real picture of the situation or setting in the public spaces based on interpretations of direct observation. Researchers' observations are based on a literature review of open space and people's behavior in the public spaces. As part of the process of understanding the facts, street survey techniques were carried out in three open spaces in the Manggar settlement area to determine the pattern of space user activity in terms of penetration, action patterns, behavior mechanisms, and welfare. The results showed that public open space was formed through routine activities of the community naturally, through the process of selecting places close to work access.

Abstract

City parks as public urban infrastructure are required to provide facilities that can accommodate all levels of society, including people with disabilities as park users. One of the public green open spaces in Samarinda City, namely Samarendah Park, is known to still lack attention to accessible support facilities for people with disabilities. This research aims to evaluate the suitability of landscape element conditions in Samarendah Park for people with disabilities to the accessibility standards of city parks. The research approach method used is qualitative in the form of mapping analysis of landscape elements and supporting facilities of Samarendah Park which will then be evaluated with policy documents and related theories to be further calculated using a percentage formula that displays a large percentage of conformity conditions. The results of the analysis showed that the availability of landscape elements and supporting facilities in Samarenda Park was adequate because the laying was evenly distributed throughout the park area, but from the results of conformity evaluation, it was obtained that availability alone was not enough to support the activities of visitors because functionally and condition there are still landscape elements and supporting facilities that are not even in accordance with accessibility standards followed by large percentages produced.

Abstract

Kampung Pelajar is an educational area that causes travel attractions on the surrounding roads so there is a tendency to experience traffic density during daytime and night. Today the implementation of the government zoning system in education has encouraged equal access to educational services through a student admission system that considers the distance from home to the school. The implementation of this system has an impact on reducing loading on roads that have indications of high density due to student movement during rush hour. Based on initial observations, walking on pedestrian paths tend to be less when compared to vehicle. This phenomenon causes a decrease in the number of pedestrians because the function of the pathway is not optimal. This research aims to evaluate the pedestrian way suitability with the Active Living Street concept, by Mapping analysis with comparative description. The research results showed that based on the examination of four existing segmented routes, the majority of pedestrian way elements are not meet the criteria, such as obstacle, type of pavement, route dimension, signage and road marking, seatings, bollard, and safety barrier.

Abstract

Ruang terbuka publik merupakan tempat manusia beraktivitas dan berinteraksi, dengan beragam perilaku antar pengguna, maupun antara pengguna dan ruang terbuka. Interaksi manusia dengan tempat kegiatan yang spesifik disebut juga sebagai behavior setting, yang dapat digambarkan melalui peta atau sketsa area atau ruang dengan tujuan untuk menggambarkan pola perilaku manusia, jenis perilaku dan frekuensi perilaku manusia. Pemetaan perilaku atau behavior mapping dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis perilaku individu maupun kelompok dalam berinteraksi dengan tempat aktivitasnya, seperti kawasan tepian Sungai Karang Mumus Kota Samarinda yang merupakan ruang terbuka potensial. Kawasan sempadan sungai ini secara spontanitas menjadi ruang publik yang digunakan untuk beragam aktivitas seperti duduk dan bersantai, memancing, parkir kendaraan, bermain dan berjualan, tetapi tidak didasari dengan perencanaan fisik. Pemetaan perilaku pada area tepian Sungai Karang Mumus bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola perilaku masyarakat sebagai pengguna ruang baik individu maupu kelompok dari waktu ke waktu, serta hubungan kondisi fisik lokasi dengan aktivitas tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemetaan dengan teknik place-centered mapping yang memetakan perilaku dan aktivitas berdasarkan tempatnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan interaksi dan aktivitas masyarakat pada tepian Sungai Karang Mumus yang beragam tiap waktu menghasilkan adaptabilitas yaitu ruang mampu menampung perilaku pengguna ruang yang belum ada sebelumnya.

Abstract

Kelurahan Sempaja Selatan termasuk daerah rawan banjir karena sistem resapan air pada wilayah utara mengalami hambatan akibat perubahan fungsi lahan, seperti pembebasan lahan untuk permukiman di daerah yang tidak sesuai peruntukkannya. Upaya pemerintah Kota Samarinda dalam penanggulangan banjir di tahun 2019 adalah perbaikan drainase, pembangunan drainase sub sistem, dan pembangunan kolam retensi sebagai solusi berkurangnya area resapan air. Berdasarkan kondisi eksisting di tahun 2021, kolam retensi hanya mereduksi banjir sebesar 3,76% dan tidak sepenuhnya menghilangkan genangan banjir, namun mengurangi lama genangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kondisi infrastruktur hijau pengendali banjir berdasarkan preferensi stakeholder. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode wawancara kepada stakeholder yang berpengaruh selaku pelaku pembangunan infrastruktur. Analisis konten pada penelitian menggunakan kode-kode yang ditemukan dalam transkrip wawancara dengan stakeholder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak seluruh elemen infrastuktur hijau dalam kondisi ketersediaan dan dikelola secara optimal, seperti infrastuktur drainase. Dibutuhkan informasi yang mendetail dari proses pembangunan infrastruktur secara menyeluruh tentang fisik ataupun keandalan elemen terkait. Diperlukannya penambahan infrastruktur dalam pengandalian banjir serta elemen untuk mengurangi sedimen dan polutan yang tinggi pada drainase.
