Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving turmeric solution in drinking water on the performance of quail aged 4-8 weeks. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications each replications consisting of 3 quails. The treatments consisted of drinking water without turmeric solution (A); drinking water with 1% turmeric solution (B); and drinking water with 2% turmeric solution (C). The variables observed were initial body weight, final body weight, ration consumption, drinking water consumption, weight gain and feed conversion ratio (FCR). The results showed that administration of 2% turmeric solution in drinking water (C) had an significant effect on feed conversion ratio (FCR) from the control treatment but had no significant effect (P>0,05) on final body weight, ration consumption, drinking water consumption and increase in body weight compared to A (without turmeric solution in drinking water) and B (1% turmeric solution in drinking water). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the quail aged 4-8 weeks gave of a 2% turmeric solution had a significant effect on the feed conversion ratio (FCR) of the control treatment, but between the control treatments, 1% and 2% turmeric solution on water whit no significant effect ration consumption, drinking water consumption, final body weight, and weight gain body. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh frekuensi pemutaran terhadap daya tetas telur ayam kampung. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan masing-masing ulangan menggunakan 5 butir telur ayam kampung sehingga telur yang digunakan sebanyak 90 butir. Adapun perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu perbedaan frekuensi pemutaran telur tetas ayam kampung selama proses penetasan : Pemutaran 1 kali /hari (P1), Pemutaran 3 kali /hari (P3) dan Pemutaran 6 kali/hari (P6). Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian adalah indeks telur (%), daya tetas (%), telur infertil (%), penyusutan telur (weight loss) hari ke 18, presentase telur fertil (%). Hasil penelitian menunjukan pengaruh frekuensi pemutaran telur ayam kampung pada perlakuan P1, P3, dan P6 tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot telur, indeks telur, telur fertil, infertil dan penyusutan telur, tetapi pada perlakuan P3 dan P6 berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap daya tetas telur. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemutaran telur ayam kampung yang dilakukan 3 dan 6 kali sehari memiliki pengaruh yang lebih tinggi terhadap daya tetas dari pemutaran 1 kali sehari , sedanngkan pemutaran telur 1, 3 dan 6 kali sehari tidak berpengaruh terhadap indeks telur, telur fertil, telur infertil, dan penyusutan berat telur ayam kampung didalam mesin tetas. Abstract

This study aims to know the effect of dragon fruit skin flour fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae in ration on the performance of broiler aged 5 weeks (bio-supplement). The research was conducted at Research Station of Faculty of Animal Science, The University of Udayana, Jimbaran, Badung, Bali, for 5 weeks. Using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments i.e. RKBN0 = Ration with no dragon fruit skin, RKBN1 = Ration with 5% fermented dragon fruit skin flour, RKBN2 = Ration with 7% fermented dragon fruit skin flour; with 6 replications where each replication consisted of 5 broilers. Total used were 90 broilers with the initial body weights were 153,33± 3,01 g/ekor. The variables observed were initial body weight (g), ration consumption (g), body weight gain (g), final body weight (g) and FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio). The data was analysed for its variance (Anova). The results showed that the giving of dragon fruit skin flour fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae in rations with 0%, 5% and 7% levels resulted in total ration consumption, body weight gain and final body weight of 2172 -2329 g, 1251 - 1323 g, respectively 1404 - 1476 g which statistically is not significant (P> 0.05). Whereas for Feed Convertion Ratio / FCR, giving of dragon fruit with level 7% (RKBN2) able to yield the lowest FCR value (1,65) that is 11,76% lower and significantly different (P<0,05) compared with treatment without flour dragon fruit skin (RKBN0). Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the giving of fruits dragon fruit powder fermented by Saccharomyces cerevisiae as much as 7% in ration can decrease FCR broiler 11,76%, but not influence ration consumption, body weight gain and broiler end body weight 1 - 5 weeks. Abstract

The study aimed to examine the effect of giving dragon fruit peel juice (Hylocereus sp.) through drinking water on the quality of Lohmann brown eggs was conducted at Teaching Farm Campus Bukit Jimbaran, Badung, Bali during 45 days. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomize Design (CRD) with three treatments and five replications, each replication using three Lohmann brown layer age of 48-51 weeks. The treatments are Lohmann Brown was given drinking water without dragon fruit peel juice as a control (R0), Lohmann Brown was given drinking water contain 1% dragon fruit peel juice (R1), and Lohmann Brown was given drinking water contain 3% dragon fruit peel juice (R2). The variables observed in this study included egg weight, egg index, egg shell weight, egg shell thickness, egg pH, egg yolk color, and egg haugh unit. The results showed that the egg weight in the treatments R0, R1, R2 was significantly different (P <0.05), while the other variables (egg index, egg shell weight, egg shell thickness, egg yolk color, egg haugh unit, and egg pH) showed results that were not significantly different (P> 0.05). Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that 1% and 3% dragon fruit peel juice in drinking water can increase egg weight and does not affect on egg shell thickness, egg shell weight, egg yolk color, egg haugh unit, and egg pH of Lohmann Brown age of 48-51 weeks. Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the external percentage of 100 week old Isa Brown chickens that were given commercial feed with the addition of shellfish flour. The chickens used were 100 Isa Brown chickens aged 100 weeks. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, where each treatment used 5 replications and each replication used 5 Isa Brown chickens. The ration treatments given to chickens were: commercial rations (P0), commercial rations plus 1% shellfish (P1), commercial rations plus 2% shellfish flour (P2) and commercial rations plus 3% shellfish flour (P3). The variables observed were the percentage of external offal (head, neck, legs, blood and hair). The results showed that the provision of commercial rations with the addition of shellfish flour 1%, 2% and 3% to the percentage of external external (head, neck, legs, blood and feathers) was not significantly different (P> 0.05). The conclusion from this study is that rations with the addition of 1%, 2%, and 3% of shellfish flour in commercial rations did not affect the percentage of external offal (head, neck, legs, feathers and blood) of 100 week old Isa Brown chickens. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung kulit buah naga terfermentasi pada ransum terhadap organ dalam ayam petelur (Lohmann Brown) umur 21 Minggu. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Lapangan (Teaching Farm) Kampus Fakultas Peternakan Bukit, Jimbaran, Badung, Bali selama 1,5 bulan. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan,setiap ulangan terdiri dari 3 ekor ayam, total ayam yang digunakan sebanyak 45 ekor. Adapun perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu R0= ransum tanpa kulit buah naga terfermentasi, R1= ransum kulit buah naga terfermentasi sebanyak 5% dan R2= ransum komersial. Variabel yang diamati adalah berat potong, berat hati, persentase hati, berat jantung, persentase jantung, berat empedu, persentase empedu, berat limpa, persentase limpa.Hasil penelitian menunjukan variabel berat potong, berat hati, berat limpa, persentase empedu dan limpa berbeda tidak nyata antara perlakuan R0, R1, dan R2 (P>0,05). Berat jantung, berat empedu, persentase hati dan persentase jantung perlakuan R1 dan R2 berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan R0. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan pemberian ransum dengan 5% kulit buah naga terfermentasi dan ransum komersial mempengaruhi berat jantung, berat empedu, persentase hati, persentase jantung dan tidak mempengaruhi berat potong, berat hati , berat limpa, persentase empedu dan persentase limpa pada ayam Lohmann Brown umur 21 minggu. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh marinasi dengan ekstrak daun binahong terhadap sifat fisikokimia daging paha broiler. Rancangan Acak Lengkap pola faktorial 2x2x2 dengan 3 ulangan. Tiga faktor tersebut adalah faktor pertama recahan thigh dan drumstick; faktor kedua konsentrasi (1% dan 2%) ekstrak daun binahong; faktor ketiga lama marinasi (30 menit dan 60 menit). Ada interaksi nyata kedua faktor (konsentrasi dan lama marinasi) terhadap susut masak, daya ikat air, kadar air dan pH. Ada interaksi nyata ketiga faktor terhadap pH dan kadar air daging. Perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 2% dan lama marinasi 60 menit, nyata menurunkan daya ikat air dan susut masak kedua recahan daging (thigh dan drumstick); nyata meningkatkan pH dan menurunkan kadar air recahan daging thigh; serta nyata menurunkan pH dan meningkatkan kadar air recahan daging drumstick. Kesimpulan: perlakuan terbaik recahan daging drumstick, konsentrasi 2% dan lama marinasi 60 menit. Kata Kunci : fisikokimia, daging paha broiler, marinasi, daun binahong (Anredera cordiofolia (ten) steenis).

Abstract

In the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, people are asked to continue to implement health protocols, use masks, wash hands regularly, maintain distance between people, and avoid crowds. The Satria Bird Market in Denpasar City is one of the animal markets located in the Denpasar area and it is still crowded with people. This poses a high risk of Covid-19 transmission because the market is always crowded and crowds generally occur, so strict precautions need to be taken to prevent Covid-19 transmission at the Satria Bird Market. The corona-19 virus is very dangerous to human health. Likewise, avian influnza virus which is an animal disease. Avian invluenza is not only dangerous for poultry, but also humans because it is zoonoses. This community service activity aims to prevent Covid-19 and afian influenza at the Satria Bird Market. This service activity was carried out in the form of distributing 1,250 pcs of masks, giving 1,800 chicken eggs, distributing 800 vitamin C + Zinc capsules to traders and parking attendants, disinfectant assistance, disinfecting stalls in the Satria Bird Market area of Denpasar City, and giving 400 Vitachick sachets for birds/poultry. This service was held on July 30, 2021, attended offline by 4 community service teams, 1 employee, 44 online lecturers, 2 bird market stall owners representatives, Satria bird market stall, and 3 parking attendants.
