Abstract

Effectiveness of Communication in Counseling Jajar Legowo Planting System onGAPOKTAN Sumber Mulyo in the Village Kediren, Sub-district Kalitengah Lamongan Regency, East Java. Increased productivity of rice farming is needed in order of the community. Theinnovation of the Jajar Legowo planting system is expected to bring about an increase inthe results of farming. One of the Gapoktan implementing Jajar Legowo plantingsystem is GAPOKTAN Sumber Mulyo. Facts on the field show that rice yields usingthe Jajar Legowo planting system did not increase compared to using a tile system. Thiswas allegedly due to communication carried out by extension agents to farmers.Farmers do not understand the explanation given by extension workers. Therefore, it isnecessary to conduct research on communications conducted by extensionagents.Communication can be effective if there is understanding, pleasure, attitude,good relationship, and action. The research location is located in Kediren Village,Kalitengah District, Lamongan Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine theeffectiveness of communication in the extension of the Jajar Legowo planting system onGAPOKTAN Sumber Mulyo. The analytical method used is qualitative descriptiveanalysis.Based on the results of the study it can be concluded the extension of the JajarLegowo planting system is effective. The effectiveness of the communication is shownby: (1) farmers understand the Jajar Legowo planting system; (2) farmers enjoy the Jajar Legowo planting system; (3) farmers sympathize with the Jajar Legowo plantingsystem; (4) the relationship between farmers and extension workers is very good; and(5) the application of Jajar Legowo planting system in accordance with therecommendations of the instructor. Based on the results of the study, discussion, andconclusions, it can be suggested: (1) the need for counseling to members ofGAPOKTAN Sumber Mulyo to use organic fertilizer in farming so that agriculturalland remains fertile and can be used for mina rice; (2) farmers can revive a culture ofmutual cooperation in planting so that it does not require large costs; (3) extensionagents can conduct counseling using cyber extention methods is farmers can learn thematerial neeses through the internet.

Abstract

Abstract Perception of Women Farmers on The Impact of Gerakan Pembangunan Desa Terpadu (Gerbang Sadu) Mandara Program (Case in Pelita Hati II Farmer Groups Bebandem Village, Bebandem District, Karangsem Regency) Poverty remains a serious problem in the Bali Province. One of the Government of Bali’s efforts to reduce poverty rate by initiating Gerakan Pembangunan Desa Terpadu (Gerbang Sadu) Mandara program in a village that have the level of poverty above 35%. One of the village is Bebandem Village with the poverty rate at 39,43%. The aim of this research is to determine the impact in the term of management, economic, and social aspects. This research was conducted in Pelita Hati II Farmer Groups, Bebandem Village, Bebandem District, Karangasem Regency for 10 months from September 2014 until June 2015. There are 10 members of population and wholly be used as respondents using cencus technique. The method of data analysis using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of research shows that the impact of Gerbang Sadu Mandara program in the terms of management aspect is considered relatively good (65,95%). The planning indicators is considered relatively good (64,50%), the organizing indicators is considered relatively good (65,00%), the implementation indicators is considered relatively good (66,30%), and the supervision indicators is considered relatively good (68,00%). The impact of Gerbang Sadu Mandara program in the terms of economic aspect have an impact on the increase in income members of the group. The impact of Gerbang Sadu Mandara program in the terms of social aspect is considered relatively good (63,00%). Interaction indicators among members is considered relatively good (62,00%). Interaction indicators among members and the group is considered relatively good (59,50%), and interaction indicators among members and village institution is considered relatively good (68,00%). Abstract

Evaluation of the impact of the Land Optimization Program (OPLA) in Rice Cultivation at the Selasih Subak of Puhu Village, Sub-District of Payangan, Gianyar Regency Population in Indonesia keeps growing with growth rate around 1,38 per year. In the last two decades, the increase rate in national food production was unable to compensate the increase rate in food needs. This reflects in increase of food product import such as rice, corn and soybean. Optimization of agricultural land is an attempt to boost the utilization of agricultural land resources into farming lands for crops, horticulture and plantation through improvements and increase of land carrying capacity. The aim of the research is to identify the program impact evaluation on the course of Special Attempt "Upaya Khusus (UPSUS)" program particularly Land Optimization "Optimalisasi Lahan (OPLA) in Subak Selasih about the impact of OPLA program in terms of technical, economical and social aspects. The research was conducted in Subak Selasih, Puhu Village, Payangan District, Gianyar Regency. Population in Subak Selasih is 73 people. Sample selection uses simple random sampling. Respondents are 42 people. The result of the research showed that technical impact is in well category with achievement score of 3,86, economical impact is in medium category with achievement score of 3,31 and social impact is in well category with achievement score of 3,69. Based on the research result of land optimization program impact evaluation, members of community need to continue the OPLA program, use more organic fertilizer to minimize costs and interact with other farmers to gain knowledge.

Abstract

Community Empowerment Strategy in Entrepreneurship Spirit Development in Langkan Sub-Village, Landih Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency Community empowerment as a development concept fulfills social values. One of the efforts is through entrepreneurship development. The community of Langkan Sub-Village, Landih Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency is a potential area to be empowered in the field of entrepreneurship. Therefore, this study aims to identify internal factors in the form of strengths and weaknesses as well as external factors in the form of opportunities and threats. After getting thesefactors, then the strategy of community empowerment was formulated in the development of entrepreneurship spirit. These factors were analyzed using IFASEFAS analysis, SWOT quadrant analysis, IE matrix, and SWOT matrix. The results showed that the main strength in Langkan Sub-Village is in the form ofavailable agricultural land adequate for the development of entrepreneurship. The main weakness is that there was no association, group or similar businessorganization causing the lack of coordination. The main opportunity is that there were increasingly serious efforts of the government to increase the number ofentrepreneurs both in agriculture and non-agriculture sectors. While the main threat is the flow of world trade that causes losses if they are not able to compete.Through the SWOT analysis quadrant, it can be seen that the community was on a progressive strategy. While the I-E Matrix formula finds the strategy of harvestand divestment. In addition, SWOT matrix analysis found 14 alternative strategies. The most priority strategy is to encourage human resources who are educated, have the skills, have the spirit and the willingness to go forward to follow the competition and the improvement of the entrepreneurial program sothat there is an increase of entrepreneurial competence.

Abstract

Community Development Strategy through Community Development (Case of Gadung Tuber Chips Craftsman in Ngerjo Hamlet, Joho Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province) The purpose of this study was to determine the response of craftsmen to the formation of groups for craftsmen in Ngerjo Hamlet, Joho Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province and to find out the strategy of forming a group of gadung tuber chips craftsmen in Ngerjo Hamlet, Joho Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province. This study uses qualitative data analysis techniques with interactive models. This research was conducted in Ngerjo Hamlet, Joho Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province from May 2019 to December 2019. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive and SWOT analysis methods. The results showed that the response of craftsmen to the formation of groups for artisans in Ngerjo Hamlet, Joho Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province was responded to well and interest in forming such groups of craftsmen increased after the craftsmen learned the many benefits of forming such groups as they could serve as a learning class, a vehicle for collaboration, and a vehicle to develop human development, business development, environmental development and group development itself. The results also showed that the strategy for forming groups of yam tuber chips craftsmen in Ngerjo Hamlet, Joho Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province based on the results of the SWOT analysis was an aggressive strategy namely a strategy by (1) Increasing the craftsmen's awareness of the importance of the group; (2) Increasing the interest of craftsmen to create groups; and (3) initiating activities to create groups.

Abstract

The relationship between vegetable farmers’ social network and the marketing mix of broccoli (The case of vegetable farmers supervised by Perusda Bali in Candikuning Village, Baturiti District, Tabanan) The challenges of capital, information, human resources cause farmers' products to be unable to meet market demand. Marketing of farmers' products in Perusda so far has only been to the supermarket Tiara Dewata. It can be said that the marketing network of these farmer groups is still limited. The purpose of this study was to determine the social network, marketing mix, and the relationship of social networks with the marketing mix of broccoli. Data analysis was performed with descriptive analysis through Spearman Rank Correlation and scores. This study uses qualitative and quantitative data with data collection methods through surveys, questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that the network of power and interests are between farmers, Perusda and Tiara Dewata. The highest price mix is in the high-very high category. The lowest promotion mix is bad. The price and distribution mix is in the middle. There is a real and direct relationship between social networks with products, prices, distribution and promotion. The correlation coefficient of social networks with products and promotions is strong, social networks with prices and distribution are very strong. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between social networks and the marketing mix. It is recommended to expand distribution and promotion through ongoing cooperation.

Abstract

The Effect of Agriculture Land Conversion into Non-Agriculture Land toward Conflict Level in Subak Bau, Gianyar Regency The transfer of the function of agricultural land to non-agriculture in Subak Bau involves avery broad dimension. This can lead to conflicts that occur either internally or withoutsiders. With this, a management of conflict handling in Subak Bau is required throughcompromise and collaboration or problem solving. The transfer of the function ofagricultural land to non-agriculture will result in the impact of land conversion oneconomic resilience, social security, and the ecological resilience of the farmingcommunity.The purpose of this study was to analyse the level of conflict in Subak Bau and the effortsmade to manage conflicts that occurred, and describe the impact of the conversion ofagricultural land on social, economic, and ecological resilience. The method used in thisstudy was a qualitative analysis method with interviews and quantitative analysis methodwith surveys.In Subak Bau there was a conversion of 2.71 hectares of agricultural land to nonagriculture.There were several levels of conflict and management efforts made for problem solvingthrough compromise and collaboration or problem solving. Abstract

Measuring Empowerment Subak Umabun As Agribusiness Board at VillageAngantaka Abiansemal Badung District Research efforts empowerment subak as agribusiness board aims to boost the economyand the welfare of farmers, so that the culture of agriculture demand and not abandonedby society, particularly Subak Umabun. This study aims to (1) identify the potentialSubak Umabun related to natural resources, human resources and financial resources,(2) To know the efforts made to empower the board to Subak Umabun agribusiness.This research was conducted at Subak Umabun, the number of respondents 75 peopleappointed by the formula slovin, data that is used structured interviews and in-depthinterviews.The results showed that the potential of Subak Umabun aspects of naturalresources, human resources and financial resources are classified with an average scoreof 3,19. Further empowerment undertaken by Subak Umabun are classified by score of3,21. And the last institution in agribusiness Subak Umabun high achievement score of3,68. Based on these results, it is recommended to the government through theDepartment of Agriculture, Plantation and Forestry Badung need to deepen the study ofthis kind, so that the programs formulated by the government not only in the form ofsocial assistance

Abstract

Abstract The Participation of Group Members of Women Farmers of Pangan Sari in the Program of Sustainable Food House Area (Case Study in Cengkilung Sub Village, Peguyangan Kangin Village, The Sub-District of North Denpasar, Denpasar City). The Ministry of Agriculture has developed the Sustainable Food House Area Program in the Women Farmers Group of Pangan Sari. To develop the programs, it needs participation. The aims of the research are to determine: (1) the level of participation of members;(2) to describe the obstacles faced the Women Farmers Group of Pangan Sari. The study was conducted in Cengkilung sub village. The research location was determined intentionally with the population of the Women Farmers Group of Pangan Sari members of 20 people and they were all used as the respondents defined by census method. Data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative ordinal scale (Likert). The average level of participation based on the forms of participation which were: financial, material, service and moral participation of 86,67% which considered as a very high category. The obstacles faced (1) the technical aspects: limitations of nursery village; (2) the economic aspect: land supply remains of nursery village and capital limitation in fulfilling the crop production facilities; (3) the social aspect: no problem raised because the group member have good relationship with the goverment, inter-group members and outside parties. The participation of members is very high, then the program can be developed in the field of marketing, making an agreement with the owner of the land or using one of member’s land as nursery village and more technical guidance related to organic cultivation techniques. Abstract

The Function of Group Communicationin the Unhulled Rice Grains Subsidiary Program / Serap Gabah (Sergab),(Case in Sri Rahayu Farmers Group of Purwosari Village,Babadan Sub-District, Ponorogo Regency) The Serap Gabah Program (Sergab) is a national program set up to tackle the fallingrice prices at the farmers' level at the time of harvest. The launching of the program is inline with the instruction of the President of Republic of Indonesia in cooperation withthe rural military officer / Babinsa, Extension Agent/PPL, and the Logistics Agency ofBulog. As a new program in agriculture, Sri Rahayu Farmers Group in PurwosariVillage, Babadan Sub-District, Ponorogo Regency is one of the farmer groups thatreceived the Sergab program. This study aims to determine the application of groupcommunication functions in Sergab program at Sri Rahayu Farmer Group of PurwosariVillage, Sub-District of Babadan, Ponorogo Regency. The sampling technique is usingsimple random sampling method. Data analysis method used is descriptive analysis.Based on the descriptive analysis of group communication function in the Serap Gabah(Sergab) program at Sri Rahayu Farmer Group of Purwosari Village, BabadanSubdistrict, Ponorogo Regency is categorized as good enough with achievement scoreof 3.21. The farmer members of Sri Rahayu Farmer Group should be more active intaking the agricultural extension program of Sergab, so that they gain insights from theinformation given by the extension agents of PPL, chairman of Sri Rahayu FarmerGroup is expected to actively encourage his members to follow Sergab program andAgricultural Extension as the activator of the Sergab program to further improvecommunication skills, especially persuasive communication, so that the persuasivecommunication function in the implementation of Sergab program can be wellorganized.
