Abstract

Abstract The Urban Farmer’s Perception to Subak System Activity (The Case of Anggabaya Subak of Penatih Village East Denpasar Sub-District Denpasar City) Farmer’s mind set is an important thing to the existence of subak system agriculture in urban area.  According to the problem above, this research has purpose to find out the perception of urban farmer to subak system activity at Anggaya Subak of Penatih Village East Denpasar Sub-district Denpasar City.  Determining of research location used the purposive method.  Result of research showed that the urban farmer’s perception to subak system activity at Anggaya Subak of Penatih Village East Denpasar Sub-district Denpasar City is including in the good category (77.15%).  This data shows that the farmer has positive mind set to the preservation of agriculture work of subak system.  It is strengthen by the result achieved by its three supporting aspects, including mind set aspect which is including in the good category (83.83%), social system aspect which is including in the good category (83.78%) and the artifact aspect which is including in fair category (64.78%).  Based on the research result, to support the farmer’s business activity it is expected that the farmers are not only based their activity to dewasa ayu but they should also communicate to the related institution Keywords : perception, urban farmers, agriculture of subak system.

Abstract

The Evaluation of the Training Program in Competencies of the Agricultural FieldElucidators in the District Level (the Cases Taking Place at Kerambitan District, Marga, and West Selemadeg District, Tabanan Regency, Bali Province)The development of the ability of an Agricultural Field Elucidator ‘Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL)’ plays a highly important role in the transformation of the accurate andefficient agricultural technological innovation. This current study was intended toidentify the level of the knowledge and ability which the PPLs have after joining thetraining program which was held to improve their competencies, and to identify theobstructions faced when joining the program. The respondents totaled 30 determinedusing the saturated sampling technique. The data were analyzed using the descriptivequalitative method. The results of the study showed that after joining the trainingprogram, the competencies they had were good enough or fine and the score achievedwas 3.00. The obstructions they faced were limited funds, time, labor and facilities.Apart from that, the perception which BPTP had was different from that which PPL andthe other related parties had; as a result, the program was not in accordance with whathad been expected for.Based on the result of the evaluation, it is suggested that the related parties should pay more attention to the funds, time and facilities used. Inaddition, the coordination between BPTP and PPL and the other related parties shouldbe improved to make the result achieved from the program in accordance with what hadbeen expected.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Orange Honey Value Chain Management at Barus Jahe Sub-District Barus Jahe Regency Karo, North Sumatra. Orange is kind of horticulture are much favored by the public. One of the problems for citrus growers are constrained in citrus marketing system that is less efficient. therefore needs required a citrus marketing system that is efficient and provides benefits for farmers to sell their products without spending a huge cost. This study aimed to determine (1) the pattern of commodity value chains honey orange at Barus Jahe. (2) may at any gains in the value chain. (3) the effect on value chain management at Barus Jahe. The research was conducted in Barus Ginger, North Sumatra. Data obtained from this village were analyzed using descriptive methods. The study found that the value chain system in the village is divided into three, namely (1) farmers - traders - market - consumers. (2) farmers - market - retailer - consumer. (3) farmers - merchants - retailers - agents - consumers. Value chain lies in achieving the highest sales channel III. Marketing margins in the channel I Rp. 2500 (25%), channel II Rp. 3000 (30%), channell III Rp. 4500 (45%). The results of the analysis of value chain management applications that occurred in the study area is said to run pretty good. Key words : value chain, orange honey, value chain management

Abstract

Motivation of Farmers’ Group Members in Chili Plant Growing (The Case of Farmers’ Group of Catur Amerta Sari, Banjar Pura, the Village of Sebudi, Sub-District of Selat, Karangasem Regency) Cultivation of chili plants is conducted by members of the Farmers’ Group of Catur Amerta Sari, Banjar Pura, the village of Sebudi, certainly based on the high intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of the members of farmers’ group. Under these conditions, the purpose of the study was to determine the level of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of the farmers’ group members of Catur Amerta Sari in Banjar Pura, the village of Sebudi in cultivating chili, and to find out the more influential motivation in influencing the members of Farmers’ Group of Catur Amerta Sari in the cultivation of chilies. The data in this study were obtained through interviews and observation methods, which were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods.The research results showed that the intrinsic motivation is classified into higher category with achieving an average score of 4.17 and the extrinsic motivation is classified into high category with achieving an average score of 4.00. The more dominant influential motivation was the intrinsic motivation. This is due to most of the Catur Amerta Sari’s Farmers still cultivate chili plants in order to meet the needs of its physiology. The agricultural extension agents must coordinate the pest and disease control that still often attack the chili plants. The government is expected to provide support of agricultural production facilities and new innovations that can reduce the problems faced by the members of farmer groups.

Abstract

Factors Related to the Stages of Farmer Adoption of Rice Transplanter Machine Technology (A Case in Six Subaks in Tabanan Regency) Rice transplanter is a modern machine for planting rice seeds. The provision of the machine is to support the government program. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of adoption and factors related to the adoption of rice transplanter machine. The research locations were in six subaks in Tabanan Regency using 89 respondents. The method used was qualitative descriptive analysis and scoring scale measurement. Based on the research result of adoption stage of rice transplanter machine has reached the implementation stage to be tested. Factors related to technology adoption, namely the nature of innovation that is known to be true as 88.76% of respondents. Farmers' perceptions of the usefulness and benefits of technology are quite good (score 758 including class > 695-909) and perceptions of ease of technology are quite difficult (score 726 including class > 695-909). The target attitude wants to implement and the need for technology is very low (a score of 155 and a score of 143 is included in classes 89-160). The target behavior in accepting innovation was low, only 12.36% of respondents received. For the use of innovation, only 12.36% of respondents used innovation to try.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Factors Affecting Consumer Satisfaction Of Organic Red Rice in Denpasar This study aims to find the factors that affect customer satisfaction with organic brown rice in Denpasar and know the level of customer satisfaction with organic brown rice consumed in Denpasar. The research was conducted in Denpasar which took place in two places, gods Tiara Supermarkets and health food stores "Satvika Boga" determined by purposive sampling.The results of this study indicate that the factors that affect customer satisfaction with organic brown rice that is based on the results of a factor analysis of the packaging, taste factors, aroma factors, factors benefits, the availability of, and factors motivating factor perception. The level of customer satisfaction with organic brown rice in the city of Denpasar is, of the 45 respondents, 19 (42.22%) were very satisfied, 15 people (33.33%) were satisfied and 11 (24.45%) were not satisfied . Abstract

Subak Farmers' Attitudes toward Rice Farming Insurance Program in Subak YehEmbang, Yeh Embang Kangin Village, Mendoyo Sub-district, Jembrana Regency Food security becomes one of the main goals of national development. One of theefforts undertaken by the Jembrana Regency Government is to implement a specialeffort (UPSUS) which is the insurance program of paddy farming (AUTP) since 2015.Farmers of Subak Yeh Embang who have not followed the insurance program of ricefarming is high (41.46%). The purpose of this research is to investigate the attitude ofthe farmers of Subak Yeh Embang on paddy farming insurance program. The researchwas conducted in Subak Yeh Embang, Yeh Embang Kangin Village, Mendoyo Subdistrict,of Jembrana Regency. The respondents were 35 people from the population of233 farmers who have not followed the paddy farming insurance program determinedby using the Proportional Random Sampling method.The findings showed that the attitude of farmers of Subak Yeh Embang can becategorized as agreed with the rice farming insurance by the score of 4.06. The farmers'attitude toward the objectives, targets, benefits, risks, and success of paddy farminginsurance program included in the category of strongly agree, while farmers' attitude tocompensation, compensation payment, coverage period, amount of claim, and theapproval of the insurance claim are included in the category agreed, and the attitude offarmers to the organization of the implementation of rice farming insurance programwas the category of doubtful.Based on the result of the research, it is expected that the extension agents and relatedinstitutions should be more active in conducting counseling and dissemination ofinformation about rice insurance program (AUTP).

Abstract

Potential and Empowerment Process Salt Farmers in Kusamba Village Dawan District Klungkung RegencyKusamba Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency has large salt potential. Butstill faces obstacles as: (i) cheaper salt price outside Bali Province; (ii) weatherfactor that hinders production; and (iii) low management marketing. The purpose ofresearch to know : (1) the characteristic of salt farmers; (2) the salt businesspotential; and (3) salt farmer’s aspects and empowerment elements. This researchuses the qualitative and quantitative analysis method. The research results show :(1) the salt farmers’s age classified as productive, formal education level classifiedas low, farming experience is considered relatively versed, and their land were verysuitable for expanded; (2) viewed from the potential perspective, the salt color iscolorless white, the sense is not bitter, interesting packaging, higenis, having exportopportunity, and able to compete in the market; (3) asset ownership classified asgood, the relationship between individuals and groups classified as good, most ofsalt farmers want the institutional strengthening, partnership synergies was stillunder local partnership, the chance to expand their salt’s businesses classified asgood, physical participation in an effort to salt business development have gooddiscipline, salt farmers having a sense of good responsibility to their job and theirfamilies, and the ability to cooperate and organizing classified as good.

Abstract

The Behavior of Farmers of Subak Abian toward the Integrated Pest Management of Cocoa Plants (Theobroma cacao) (A Case for Subak Abian Sida Karya, Banjar Petang, Petang Village, Petang Distrik, Badung Regency)Market demand for cocoa is quite high but can not be met by the farmers. The reason is the presence of pests and diseases, and lack of understanding of farmers on Integrated Pest Management. Based on these problems, then Integrated Pest Management Field School (SLPHT) activities are held with the aim of maximizing the role of farmers to be able to control pests and diseases but still pay attention to the environmental sustainability. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of farmers’ knowledge, attitudes, and the implementation of Integrated Pest Management of cocoa trees. The research method is inspired on a Likert scale and the data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative. Total population is assigned as many as 23 people who were participants of the SLPHT. The results of survey revealed that the behavior of farmers of Subak Abian in integrated pest management of cocoa plants  are in good category with the achievement of 76.12%. Recommendation that  can be given to farmers in order to take care of rorak, conserve natural enemies, and be able to multiply Beauveria bassiana independently so that the attacks of pests and cocoa plant diseases can be well controlled.

Abstract Marketing Strategies to Increase Sales Organic Fertilizer (Case Study on 174 Simantri Gapoktan Dharma Pertiwi LuklukVillage, District Mengwi, Badung ) The marketing strategy is a form of plan that decompose in the field of marketing. To obtain optimal results, marketing strategies have a board scope in the field of marketing include the strategy in the face of competition, pricing strategy, product strategy, service strategy.This study aims to determine the general strategy alternative strategies for marketing organic fertilizer at 174 SimantriGapoktan Dharma Pertiwi. This study was conducted in July 2015 held at 174 SimantriGapoktan Dharma Pertiwi Lukluk Village, District Mengwi, Badung. The analytical method used in this research is the analysis of the corporate environment that consists of a matrix of IFAS (Internal Strategic Factors) and matrix analysis EFAS (External Strategic Factors), matrix IE (internal external), and SWOT matrix. Analysis of IE matrix based on the score matrix IFAS and matrix EFAS to obtain the position of the business of Simantri 174 Gapoktan Dharma Pertiwi in internal conditions are very strong and the response effort organic fertilizer is to external factors that it faces is high. Swot matrix analysis resulted in several alternative strategies, strategy ST three generate alternative strategies, WO strategy resulted in four alternative strategiesand strategies WT produce three alternative strategies. Keywords :marketing strategy, organic fertilizer, analytical method
