Abstract

Tangki penimbun (Storage Tank) adalah elemen penting dalam berbagai industri seperti minyak dan gas, kimia, pangan, dan farmasi. Fungsinya adalah menyimpan bahan cair atau gas dalam jumlah besar secara aman dan efisien serta sebagai penyangga antara proses produksi dan distribusi. Selain itu, tangki ini juga berperan dalam pengendalian kualitas produk yang disimpan, sehingga aspek keselamatan harus diperhatikan melalui inspeksi rutin selama konstruksi dan operasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT. Pertamina RU III Plaju yang bergerak dalam bidang Oil and Gas pada proyek cleaning dan overhaul storage tank oleh seorang welding inspector untuk mengawasi kualitas pengelasan, yang merupakan faktor kunci dalam menentukan kekuatan struktural dan keselamatan tangki. Penelitian ini bertujuanĀ  memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan dalam menurunkan tingkat defect rate proses pengelasan yang melebihi batas toleransi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Six Sigma dan Failure Mode Effect and Analysis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah faktor manusia dan metode adalah faktor yang sangat signifikan mempengaruhi terjadinya defect pada pengelasan, maka perlu adanya penanganan yang serius dan tindakan yang tepat pada faktor manusia dan metode untuk mengurangi tingkat defect yang melebihi batas toleransi sebesar 10%.

Abstract

Pekerjaan tambah mengakibatkan terjadinya perubahan terhadap item pekerjaan dan atau volume pekerjaan sehingga berdampak langsung terhadap biaya dan waktu. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui kesesuaian berdasarkan peraturan yang ada sehingga dapat memberikan solusi yang tepat mengenai permohonan pekerjaan tambah dari pihak kontraktor pada Proyek Perbaikan Akses Jalan di PLTD Waibalun Rayon Larantuka PT. PLN (Persero) Area Flores Bagian Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan tahapan melakukan analisis terhadap permohonan pekerjaan tambah berdasarkan peraturan yang berlaku, analisis terhadap bobot pekerjaan yang telah dilaksanakan sampai dengan waktu pengajuan permohonan pekerjaan tambah, analisis perhitungan biaya dari permohonan pekerjaan tambah, dan membuat kesimpulan dan saran dengan membandingkan keputusan yang telah dilaksanakan pihak konsultan pengawasan dengan hasil analisis pada artikel ini. Hasil analisis didapatkan kontrak yang digunakan merupakan jenis kontrak lump sum, deviasi antara rencana progres dan realisasi progres dari kontraktor sangat rendah dengan deviasi -11,1271 %, biaya pekerjaan tambah sebesar Rp.21.887.000,- dengan persentase total penurunan harga adalah 1,22 % dari total harga penawaran. Keputusan yang tepat terkait adanya permohonan pekerjaan tambah ini adalah tidak disetujui untuk dilanjutkan prosesnya. Keputusan pihak konsultan pada saat proyek berlangsung telah sesuai dengan hasil analisis pada artikel ini.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company that produces palm oil (CPO). In order to maintain the quality of sales, PT XYZ must be able to maintain the quality of what is stored in a storage tank called the Oil Storage Tank (OST). The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the factors that cause mutual problems in the quality of the bottom of the Oil Storage Tank (OST) and the most important thing is to reduce the pile of sludge that occurs due to the deposition process which cannot be recycled, thus causing a loss in the amount recorded in actually in the field when the Oil Storage Tank (OST) is washed. The more sludge deposits at the bottom of the tank, the higher the potential loss for the company. This research uses the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) method which based on the results of this research can reveal the impact of modifying the inlet pipe on the Oil Storage Tank (OST) on reducing the accumulation of sludge at the bottom of the Oil Storage Tank (OST) tank. The modification involves moving the pipe outlet to the middle of the bottom of the tank so that the sludge is distributed more evenly and makes it easier to suction when recycling it back to the processing process. As a result, the accumulation of sludge was reduced quite significantly from data from washing results in March 2023 of 23,430 kg and washing in January 2024 to 7,300 kg with a shelf life and total production of CPO (crude palm oil) stored in the Oil Storage Tank of around 20 thousand tons. over a period of 9 months.

Abstract

This article discusses the process of increasing bandwidth capacity in the SEA-US submarine cable system using Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, specifically the Ciena 6500 device. DWDM technology enables simultaneous transmission of multiple optical signals within a single optical fiber, thereby enhancing network capacity without additional physical infrastructure. This study includes the stages of survey, installation, and testing of the device to ensure performance meets standards. The results show that the system was successfully upgraded with adequate technical parameters and without errors during the Integrated Test Set (ITS) testing. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of DWDM technology in addressing the growing demand for bandwidth. Keywords: Bandwidth; DWDM; Ciena 6500; Submarine Cable, SEA-US

Abstract

Search process is one of important activity in data processing. Searching can take more time if conducted in the huge search space. Therefore, it is needed an efficient search technique. One technique that can be used is parallel computing. This article discusses the search process in parallel using the Boyer-Moore algorithm. Parallel scope is emulated with PVM (Parallel Virtual Machine) software. From the research results, it can be concluded that the performance of parallel computing will increase the word searching compared to the computing performance for its word sequencial search consisting of one letter, and will drop to the word search consisting of two letters or more.

Abstract

Mini-Hydro Power Plants (PLTM) are a renewable energy source with significant potential in Indonesia, yet their utilization remains under-utilized. This study aims to evaluate the effect of waterway materials on power efficiency at the Sion PLTM in North Sumatra. The goal is to optimize power efficiency by selecting waterway materials, as well as to provide knowledge and a template for future similar projects or studies. The evaluation was conducted by comparing three types of channel materials: Open Channel (open concrete channel), Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipe, and High-density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. This study measured and compared the head loss, power output, and power efficiency of each material. The calculations revealed the lowest head loss value for GRP pipe (1.17 m), followed by HDE pipe (2.34 m), and Open Channel (18.14 m). Meanwhile, the results of the comparison of the power produced, the highest power was obtained from GRP pipes (13,624.64 kW), followed by HDPE pipes (13,406.21 kW) and Open Channel (10,456.51 kW). In conclusion, GRP pipe material is the most optimal choice for improving power efficiency at PLTM Sion, supporting the enhanced utilization of renewable energy to replace fossil fuels.
