Abstract

Gempabumi (earthquake) merupakan suatu fenomena alami yang terjadi pada kulit bumi berupa bergoncangnya atau bergetarnya bumi karena adanya pergerakan pada lapisan batuan secara tiba-tiba disebabkan karena lempeng tektonik. International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (2010) menyebutkan bahwa perempuan dan anak pada umumnyamerupakan korban utama dalam bencana alam, hal ini dikarenakan korban yang tewas lebih tinggi pada perempuan dan anak perempuan, penyebabnya karena kendala budaya berupa mobilitas perempuan, kurangnya ketrampilan yang dimiliki perempuan dibandingkan dengan laki-laki, serta kekuatan fisik perempuan yang lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan laki-laki. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meminimalkan resiko jatuhnya korban perempuan dalam bencana gempabumi dengan upaya meningkatkan kesadaran, kewaspadaan, dan kesiapsiagaan terhadap bencana gempabumi. Metode pelaksanaannya dengan melakukan sosialisasi  kesiapsiagaan  bencana  gempabumi  di  Pimpinan  Cabang  Nasyiatul  Aisyiyah Klaten Selatan. Target luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah (1) menumbuhkan kesadaran kepada kaum perempuan terhadap pentingnya pemahaman mitigasi bencana gempabumi baik sebelum,  saat  tanggap  darurat  maupun  pasca  bencana,  (2)  menumbuhkan  kewaspadaan bahwa bencana gempabumi dapat terjadi sewaktu-waktu sehingga kaum perempuan harus siap  bencana  kapan  saja  dan  dimana  saja,  dan  (3)  meningkatkan  kesiapsiagaan  kaumperempuan terhadap bencana gempabumi sehingga mengurangi resiko terjadinya korban bencana dari pihak perempuan.Kata kunci: gempabumi, perempuan, kesiapsiagaan

Abstract

Tujuan dilakukannya pengabdian masyarakat ini sebagai upaya mitigasi bencana banjir di Kelurahan Sewu dengan memanfaatkan teknologi sederhana berupa pembuatan Lubang Resapan Biopori (LRB). Melalui pembuatan LRB ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat dalam mengurangi risisko terjadinya bencana banjir. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan dalam pengabdian ini berupa sosialisasi kepada masyarakat dan demonstrasi pembuatan LRB serta menjadikan LRB sebagai media pembuatan pupuk kompos dari sapah organik. Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Juni 2019 di Kelurahan Sewu Kota Surakarta. Luaran dari program ini yaitu menjadikan masyarakat mengerti akan manfaat yang didapat dari pembuatan LRB, selain itu menjadikan masyarakat mengerti bagaimana upaya mitigasi bencana banjir tidak hanya sekedar teoritis, memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan sebagai lokasi LRB. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap bencana banjir mengalami peningkatan sebesar 12%, namun dalam implementasi kegiatan mitigasi bencana banjir, masyarakat perlu dampingan agar berperan aktif dalam mitigasi banjir. The purpose of this community service is a flood disaster mitigation effort in Sewu Village by utilizing simple technology in the form of Biopore Infiltration Hole (BIH). Through the creation of the BIH, it is hoped that it can increase the knowledge and attitudes of the community in reducing the risk of flooding. The activities carried out in this service were in the form of socialization to the community and demonstrations on the making of LRB and making BIH as a medium for making compost from organic waste. Community service is carried out from April to June 2019 in Sewu Village, Surakarta City. The output of this program is to make the community understand the benefits of making BIH, besides that it makes the community understand how flood mitigation efforts are not just theoretical, using the land as the location of the BIH. The results of dedication show that the level of knowledge of the community on floods has increased by 12%, but in the implementation of flood disaster mitigation activities, the community needs to be assisted to play an active role in flood mitigation.

Abstract

Instructional strategies hold an important role in teaching and learning, therefore knowing teachers’ instructional startegies is important to make recommendation of how teachers should be trained. This study aimed to know the geography teachers’ instructional strategies for effective learning and the problem to achieve it based on gender. The subject of this study was all geography teachers in Surakarta. The collecting data method was using a questionnaire. The result showed that the geography teacher suggested that effective learning in geography could be work when the students were given the information about the objective of the instruction and made them involved in the instructional planning and materials modification, it was also recommended that students had the choices about the task or assignment and that they had open access to update information in various subject. The main problem to applied independent learning was classroom size, time allocated, access to information, and not suitable for dull students.

Abstract

pada lokasi rawan bencana erupsi Gunungapi Merapi. Dikarenakan lokasinya ini tentunya seluruh komunitasi sekolah memerlukan kewaspadaan terhadap bencana erupsi Gunungapi Merapi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis self awareness dan strategi belajar peserta didik terhadap bencana erupsi Gunungapi Merapi di SMP Muhammadiyah Muntilan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif yang menggunakan sampel sebanyak 192 peserta didik. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecenderungan peserta didik SMP Muhammadiyah Muntilan memiliki self awareness yang cukup baik namun belum memiliki kesadaran untuk mengembangkan self awareness dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Strategi belajar peserta didik SMP Muhammadiyah Muntilan dalam mempelajari bencana erupsi Gunungapi Merapi yaitu berkonsentrasi pada proses pembelajaran, memiliki manajemen waktu, memotivasi diri, memiliki strategi mengerjakan soal ujian, memproses informasi melalui berbagai sumber, mencari ide-ide pokok materi, mencari referensi di perpustakaan, dan menggunakan alat bantu belajar sehingga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dalam mempelajari bencana erupsi Gunungapi Merapi.

Abstract

Learning is a process of change for each individual, both in knowledge and attitudes. Every individual after learning will experience changes in their life. When studying at school, teachers only tend to teach students to memorize, read and calculate. Teachers have an important task in the learning process in class to improve students' learning abilities and understanding of the material provided. Based on observations made by the author, at SD N Pajang 3 teachers tend to be monotonous and use the same learning methods every day so that students quickly get bored and have difficulty understanding the material, especially in mathematics lessons. Based on the researcher's observations during the learning process in class 3, especially in mathematics, it was proven that many students did not understand so that based on test scores students got a score of 60. This research uses a qualitative approach which aims to determine the improvement in learning outcomes of class 3 students at SD N Pajang 3 before and after carrying out learning using concrete media. This research was conducted descriptively, namely by providing a pretest and posttest. Based on the results of this research, it was concluded that the use of concrete media had a positive impact and was effectively used in improving students' addition skills.

Abstract

An earthquake is a type of natural disaster that cannot be predicted in terms of time or scale. Klaten Regency is one of the earthquake-prone areas of Indonesia. The occurrence of earthquakes in Klaten Regency has indeed surprised many parties. Implementing disaster mitigation measures is crucial in areas prone to disasters. Disaster mitigation education has been implemented in schools through intracurricular and extracurricular activities. This study aims to analyze (1) the student's understanding of earthquakes at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in Klaten Regency and (2) the impact of student attributes on an understanding of earthquakes. Students' Students comprise age and gender. This is a quantitative study with a correlational research approach. The study was 173 students from junior high school. Techniques for collecting data include questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques employ descriptive statistics; furthermore, the tests used to answer the hypothesis are the Mann-Whitney test, kruskall Wallis, and Spearman rank. The Mann-Whitney test. According to the study results, (1) students' students' of earthquakes was 22% high, 75% moderate, and 3% low, and (2) The test results pointed out that student characteristics had no significant impact on students' student's knowledge.Keywords: Earthquake; Disaster; Students; Understanding of Disaster

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum optimalnya hasil belajar matematika kelas III di SDN Pajang 3 Surakarta. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika pada peserta didik kelas III di SDN Pajang 3 Surakarta melalui model belajar kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik analis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik kuantitatif untuk mengukur data hasil beajar peserta didik melalaui tes dan teknik kualitatif untuk mengetahui aktivitas guru dan peserta didik. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas III SDN Pajang 3 Surakarta yang berjumlah 25 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperati tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) pada pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas III SDN Pajang 3 Surakarta. Sebelum dilakukan tindakan, nilai pembelajaran matematika peserta didik kelas III SD Negeri Pajang 3 Surakarta baru 8 (77%) peserta didik yang tuntas mencapai KKM. Pada tindakan siklus I, terjadi peningkatan yaitu sebanyak 15 (80%) peserta didik yang mencapai KKM. Pada siklus II, juga mengalami peningkatan yaitu sebanyak 20 (83%) peserta didik yang mencapai ketuntasan.

Abstract

Program sister school didirikan sebagai bagian dari upaya peningkatan kesiapsiagaan bencana di lingkungan pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kesiapsiagaan siswa dan mengidentifikasi perbedaan kesiapsiagaan antara dua sekolah “sister school”, yaitu SMAN 1 Cangkringan dan SMAN 1 Pakem. SMAN 1 Cangkringan sangat terdampak selama bencana letusan besar Gunung Merapi pada tahun 2010, yang mengakibatkan harus dilakukan evakuasi sekitar 95% siswa dan kerusakan tempat tinggal siswa mencapai 30% rumah, serta  mengakibatkan kematian sejumlah 5 orang di antara keluarga siswa SMAN 1 Cangkringan. Penilaian kesiapsiagaan kedua sekolah ini menggunakan empat indikator yaitu pengetahuan, rencana tanggap darurat, peringatan dini bencana, dan mobilisasi sumber daya. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 101 responden dari kelas XI IPS, yang terdiri dari 50 siswa dari SMAN 1 Cangrkingan dan 51 siswa dari SMAN 1 Pakem. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain komparatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kuesioner dan menghasilkan temuan berupa: siswa di SMAN 1 Cangkringan memiliki skor indeks kesiapsiagaan sebesar 82,75, yang masuk ke dalam kategori sangat siap. Sementara, siswa di SMAN 1 Pakem memiliki skor indeks kesiapsiagaan sebesar 70,85, yang masuk ke dalam kategori siap. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan uji Mann Whitney, ditemukan bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) adalah 0.001, karena nilai p kurang dari 0.05 (p = 0.001), yang berarti ada perbedaan signifikan dalam kesiapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SMAN 1 Cangkringan memiliki kesiapan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan SMAN 1 Pakem, karena nilai rata-rata peringkat SMAN 1 Cangkringan lebih tinggi yaitu 60,77, sedangkan nilai rata-rata peringkat SMAN 1 Pakem adalah 41,03.

Abstract

One of the risk components that are most vulnerable to earthquake disasters is children. Klaten Regency is one of the areas frequently shaken by earthquakes. Therefore, this study aims to measure students' adaptive capacity and resilience to earthquakes in the Klaten Regency. Respondents in this study were students of SMP M 8 Wedi, MTs M 10 Wedi, and SMP M 21gantiwarno, Klaten Regency. The adaptive capacity of students is measured based on institutional memory, innovative learning, and connectedness. In contrast, students' resilience level is measured based on emotion regulation, control over problems, optimism, empathy, self-efficacy, ability to analyze issues, and achievement. Data were collected using a questionnaire and processed using descriptive statistics. The level of adaptive capacity and resilience of the student community to natural disasters has different characteristics due to the influence of several factors such as the location of the school in a disaster-prone area, the integration of disaster material into learning, experience in disaster emergency response conditions, school policies on disaster mitigation and family or community factors environment. The best level of adaptive capacity is found in SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Wedi with 62.90%, and MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi has a poor level of adaptive capacity with 44.32%. Moreover, based on gender characteristics, the level of adaptive capacity of male students is better than female students, with the lowest percentage being female at MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi. The highest level of student resilience is found at MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi at 61.36%, while SMP Muhammadiyah 21 Gantiwarno is classified as poor at 33.33%. Based on gender characteristics, the highest level of resilience is female at MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi, with 91.67%.

Abstract

The rapid development of Balikpapan City has an impact on the increasingly high demand for land for urban expansion needs. The expansion of Balikpapan City is more directed towards coastal areas which are dominated by mangrove forests. This study discusses the destruction of the mangrove forest and its causal factors and how conservation efforts are being carried out to maintain sustainability. Mangrove forest damage data obtained through surveys and image analysis using NDVI. While the factors causing the damage to mangrove forests were obtained from observations and interviews with the mangrove center manager of Balikpapan. The results showed that there were many mangrove forests that had rare or already damaged that were spread in the West Balikpapan, North Balikpapan, and East Balikpapan Sub-district. This damage is caused by natural and non-natural factors. Natural factors that cause damage to mangrove forests are pests and sedimentation. The non-natural factors are due to the pollution and the opening of fish ponds. Preservation efforts are carried out by replanting mangroves which are only carried out by the mangrove center and some CSR and environmentalists and do not involve the community at large. These Conditions make the mangrove forest in Balikpapan City threatened its sustainability.
