Abstract

The transformation of IAIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya to UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya has an impact on changing the epistemology of science. The choice of twin towers as the paradigm needs to be translated to various levels of academic practice, so that the persons of academic community in UIN Sunan Ampel can understand and implement the paradigm. The studies in UIN Sunan Ampel also must be oriented to the paradigm. One of them is in Postgraduate Program, which seeks to develop inter, multi and trans-disciplinary Islamic studies at the level of PhD program. This study found that (1) most of the Stakeholders Postgraduate Program of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya have good understanding of inter and multidisciplinary Islamic studies; (2) the problems in implementing the inter and multidisciplinary Islamic studies are in four aspects: aspects of students, aspects of lecturers, aspects of curriculum, and aspects of carrying capacity and policies.

Abstract

Assessment has shifted from assessment of learning to assessment for learning. Self-Assessment (SA) is generally a formative assessment practice and seems to play an important role in developing students' spiritual attitudes, including being obedient to worship, practicing Islamic teachings, and religious tolerance. This study aims to analyze students' perceptions of SA in learning Islamic Education (IE). Using experimental research, which was conducted at the Islamic Senior High School Surabaya, Indonesia in IE lessons. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The population of this study is students at the Islamic Senior High School. The results of the research showed that students felt that they were able to assess their spiritual attitude and that SA helped students to learn IE, was able to increase learning motivation, students had positive experiences in implementing SA and there were great benefits from SA in developing spiritual attitudes.

Abstract

Gosari Amusing Park (Wagos) is a natural tourism destination located in Gosari Village, Gresik Regency, Indonesia. This community-based research explores an approach that focuses on two crucial aspects: disaster preparedness and sustainable management in the context of village tourism. The primary objectives are to enhance awareness of natural disaster potentials in Wagos while preserving its existence and sustainability as a local entrepreneurship venture.Participatory action research is adopted in three stages in this mentoring program: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The engagement team, comprising academics, students, and the East Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), collaborates with local youth. They work alongside the head of Gosari Village to identify risk mitigation measures, including the installation of evacuation route signs.During the implementation stage, the activities include disaster awareness campaigns, Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to identify vulnerable points, and the introduction of INARISK software along with evacuation simulations for the youth managing Wagos and the Toppi community.The evaluation stage emphasizes the importance of re-socialization by the youth to the local community, the installation of permanent evacuation signs, and impromptu simulations at tourist locations. The results show that the success of disaster risk mitigation heavily depends on community awareness and local entrepreneurship. Wagos, as a tourist village, has proven its existence through the creation of social values and effective promotional efforts. In conclusion, disaster awareness and sustainable management are crucial to maintaining tourist villages in the face of natural disasters and increasing business competition. This community-based research also asserts that an interdisciplinary approach and understanding the local disaster cycle are key to addressing these challenges.

Abstract

Tasawwuf, or Islamic mysticism, occupies a prominent place in Islamic studies. Its literature has contributed greatly to the development of Islamic thought, ethics, and education. However, despite the role and impact of the Sufism literature, it is undeniable that the mapping and its relevance to other studies in a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of this work is lacking. To address this gap, it is critical to explore and measure the scientific outcomes, dissemination, and impact of research related to Sufism mapping. In this bibliometric study, a systematic approach is used to analyze a wide range of academic literature. This analysis begins by collecting relevant research articles from the Scopus database, papers from leading academic databases and repositories and then screening with several filters. Furthermore, we used bibliometric techniques, including citation analysis, co-authorship networks, and keyword mapping, to assess trends, patterns, and connections in the Sufism mapping literature. In conclusion, this bibliometric study offers valuable insights into the scientific contribution of Sufism literature which is closely related to other studies, such as spirituality, mental health, politics, and others. By mapping intellectual networks and identifying influential works and authors, this will facilitate future research directions and promote a greater understanding of the historical and contemporary significance of mapping Sufism studies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk suatu pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui budidaya enceng gondok. Salah satu cara untuk mensukseskan pembangunan yang ada di Desa Kembangan, yaitu dengan cara meningkatkan pendapatan desa. Besar kecilnya pendapatan oleh desa tergantung strategi yang dilakukan oleh desa dalam mengelola. Tingkat perekonomian yang rendah masyarakat yang membuat pemerintah desa tergerak untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan enceng gondok. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian adalah bagaimana proses dari pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan cara pemanfaatn enceng gondok yang dilakukan oleh kelompok masyarakat desa Kembangan. Serta bagaimana faktor pendukung dan penghambat pemberdayaan masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh kelompok masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan enceng gondok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian yaitu, pengelola, tenaga kerja, dan masyarakat desa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan proses pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pemanfatan enceng gondok yang dilakukan oleh kelompok masyarakat desa dengan beberapa tahap, penyadaran terhadap lingkungan, pengkapasitasan, dan evaluasi. Faktor pendukung yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat adalah banyaknya enceng gondok, pemasaran yang mudah, meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Sedangkan faktor penghambat adalah faktor cuaca, kurangnya sarana dan prasarana yang kurang memadai, serta pembuatan yang sulit sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama.

Abstract

This article examines the importance of religious moderation within Indonesia's educational framework, especially given its diverse cultural and religious landscape. It addresses the rising challenges of intolerance and extremism that threaten social harmony, highlighting the need for a robust educational approach that promotes tolerance and respect for differences. Through a bibliometric analysis of international publications from the Scopus database, the research identifies key trends in the discourse on religious moderation and its educational implications. Findings indicate a growing interest in incorporating religious moderation into the national curriculum, emphasizing the need for teacher training and the development of inclusive educational materials. The article contributes to academic discourse by underscoring education's role in fostering a tolerant society. It also recommends further research on factors affecting the successful implementation of religious moderation education and advocates for exploring effective teaching methodologies to enhance students' understanding and practice of religious moderation, aiming for a more harmonious educational environment.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic education has become a crucial topic since the COVID-19 pandemic, yet systematic analyses remain limited. This study analyzes scholarly publication trends on digital transformation in Islamic education using a bibliometric approach based on 227 publications from the Scopus database (2019–2024), employing VOSviewer to map thematic networks and collaborations. The findings show a significant increase in publications since 2023, with Indonesia and Malaysia as the main contributors. Keywords such as "Islamic education" and "e-learning" dominate the research landscape, while institutions like Universiti Malaya and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia make notable contributions. The implications of this research include new opportunities such as integrating AI-based technologies into the Islamic education curriculum and enhancing cross-country collaborations. This study provides a clear map of trends, patterns, and thematic relationships, offering strategic insights for academics and policymakers to more effectively integrate technology into Islamic education. Penelitian ini menganalisis tren publikasi ilmiah tentang transformasi digital dalam pendidikan Islam melalui pendekatan bibliometrik terhadap 227 publikasi dari database Scopus (2019–2024), menggunakan VOSviewer untuk memetakan jaringan tematik dan kolaborasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan publikasi sejak 2023, dengan Indonesia dan Malaysia sebagai kontributor utama. Kata kunci seperti Islamic education dan e-learning mendominasi, dan institusi seperti Universiti Malaya serta Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia memberikan kontribusi penting. Implikasi penelitian ini meliputi peluang riset baru, seperti integrasi teknologi berbasis AI dalam kurikulum pendidikan Islam dan peningkatan kolaborasi lintas-negara. Studi ini memberikan peta tren, pola, dan hubungan tematik yang bermanfaat bagi akademisi dan pembuat kebijakan untuk integrasi teknologi yang lebih efektif dalam pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the values of character education according to the Nusantara mufassir. Character education has become a model of education offered to overcome the moral problems of children in Indonesia. This is related to the increase in juvenile delinquency in society. Ulama' Mufassir Nusantara has contributed to building human resources in the archipelago through his book of interpretation. This research is a qualitative research in the form of literature study. The object of the research material is the book of interpretation by Ulama' Tafsir originating from the archipelago. The method is to determine the verses related to the values of character education, namely the Qur'an surah al-‘Alaq [96] verses 1-5. The results of the study show that the first verse was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW., in line with the values of character education, namely the command to love reading, humans have the character of hard work, independence, and high curiosity. And the verse in question includes the character values needed by the Prophet Muhammad. as an initial provision in his missionary mission. These verses should also be instilled in all of his people.

Abstract

Abstract: The traditional classification of pesantren into salaf, khalaf, or mixed categories no longer captures the rich diversity of contemporary Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. This study proposes a revised typological framework that considers the ideological and organizational affiliations of pesantren—such as NU) Muhammadiyah, Persis, Shia, and LDII. Employing qualitative library research, the analysis draws from institutional records, curriculum documents, and scholarly literature. Findings reveal that each affiliation manifests distinct educational visions: NU emphasizes tafaqquh fi al-din through classical texts; Muhammadiyah blends national education with reformist Islam; Persis promotes rationalism and anti-madhhab discourse; Shia pesantren foreground philosophy and logic; and LDII implements a closed, tiered system. The study argues for redefining pesantren typology through ideological and pedagogical lenses, offering a more accurate framework for scholars, educators, and policymakers engaging with Indonesia’s pluralistic Islamic education landscape.Keywords: Curriculum, Pesantren Typology, Islamic Education, Indonesian Islamic Organizations, Religious Affiliation.

Abstract

The research aims to present Islamic issues reported by by Koran Kompas, Jawa Pos, and Surya during 2012 throughout 2012, especially concerning to Islam and violence, law and politic. The study shows that (1) there are 741 news related to Islam during 2012, with details of 198 within first period (January-April), 262 within second period (May-August), and 281 within third period (September-De–cember). Moreover, Islamic Social Organizations have more chances to induce legal and politic process, and violence. Therefore, it is important to empower Islamic social orga–nization and in doing so as partner for building good civilization.Keywords: Islamic social organization, mass media, Islam, violence, law and politic.----------------------------------------------------------------------Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan isu-isu Islam yang diberitakan oleh Koran Kompas, Jawa Pos, dan Surya selama 2012, terutama mengenai Islam dan kekerasan, hukum dan politik.
