Abstract

This research was aimed to know the effect of ptotato skins ethanolic extract variation concentration to physical properties of gel and antibacterial effect to Propionibacterium acnes. Gel were formulated in 3 formulas with potato skins concentration 50%, 60% and 705 respectivelly. The phisical properties of gel which obeserved include organoleptic, homogenity, pH, and spreadability. The results show that variation concentration of potato skins ethanolic extract has an effect to gel colour and viscosity but has not effect to form, smell, pH, and spreadability of gel. All formulas show strong inhibition power to Propionibacterium acnes.

Abstract

Sauropus androgynus (L) Merr leaf in Indonesia called katuk have strong antioxidant activity with IC50 80,01 ppm. The aims of this research is want to know physical properties of katuk leaf shampo which is formulated in various formulas. In this research katuk was formulated in shampoo with viscocity agent (HPMC, sodium CMC and Carbopol) in various concentration. The result showed that all shampoo formulas had low jasmine smell, but had different in form and colour. Shampoo viscocity increased with increased viscocity agent. The highest viscocity showed by F7 with 0,5% carbopol concentration. pH test showed that the shampoo with HPMC and sodium CMC had pH value 6. pH value of shampoo with carbopol was 5. All of pH formulas meet the requirement of SNI standard. Statistical result showed that the physical properties of foam high, viscocity and pH all formulas had significant difference.

Abstract

Gummy candies is semi wet chewing candies that made from gelatin and carageenan. The aim of this study was to formulated Hylocereus polyrhizus to gummy candies form. Variaton concetration of gelatin and carageenan in this study were 750 mg : 250 mg (F1), 500 mg : 500 mg (F2) dan 250 mg : 500 mg (F3). The method used was molding method. Gummy candies were evaluated organoleptic, weight variaton, pH and stability at cool, cold and warm temperature. The results showed that all formulas sweet, clear brown, and had tutty fruty smell. The elasticity of F1 was little chewyy, chewy and very chewy. All formulas meet the requirement of weight variation. All formualas had 4 of pH. Based on stability study, F3 at cold temperature was the most stable formula.

Abstract

Gel is a semisolid dosage form that consumers prefer because of its cool sensation. This research aimed to identify the effect of different concentrations of ethanolic extract from potato peels on the physical properties and the antibacterial activities of the resultant gels against Propionibacterium acnes. The gel was prepared with three formulas using a variety of potato peel concentrations, namely 50%, 60% and 70%. Its physical properties were analyzed based on organoleptic observation, homogeneity, pH, and spreadability. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of potato peels affected the color and viscosity of the gel. However, no effects were detected on shape, smell, pH, and spreadability. All formulas showed strong inhibitory capacity against Propionibacterium acnes.

Abstract

The synthesis of amoxicillin derivate has been done by reacting amoxicillin with 4-t-butylbenzoil chloride. The product was characterized by organoleptic test, melting point determination, TLC, UV/Vis Spectrophotometry, and FTIR Spectrophotometry. Antibacterial activity of amoxicillin derivative against Salmonella typhi were tested using dilution method. Result showed that the product has characteristic as follow: light yellow powder, bitter bite, melting point of 132 °C, Rf value of 0.86, pH value of 7.7, maximum wavelength (uv) of 286 nm. Moreover, FTIR spectra of amoxicillin derivate exhibited peaks at 3271 cm-1 (-NH amine), 2962 cm-1 (-CH aromatic), 1633 cm-1 (-C=O ketone), and other. Antibacterial test showed that amoxicillin derivate was unable to form a clear zone around the disc paper. Amoxicillin derivate cannot be used for the treatment of Salmonella typhi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan pasien terhadap pemakaian obat antibiotika amoxicillin terhadap pasien rawat jalan di RSU Dr. H. Koesnadi Bondowoso. Pengetahuan dibagi dalam ranah tahu, ranah memahami, ranah aplikasi, ranah analisis, ranah sintesis dan ranah evaluasi berdasarkan faktor usia, pendidikan, pekerjaan dan pendapatan keluarga per bulan.Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif cross- sectional. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur variabel yang diamati adalah kuesioner yang sebelumnya dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Pada penelitian uji validitas butir telah dilakukan dan diperoleh 15 butir valid dan hasil uji reliabilitas nilai Cronbach Alpha > 0,60 (reliable) sehingga kuesioner dapat digunakan sebagai alat ukur penelitian.Persentase tingkat pengetahuan tertinggi adalah ranah evaluasi yaitu pada usia 17-30 tahun (88%), pendidikan Perguruan Tinggi (94%) yang bekerja sebagai PNS (Pegawai Negeri Sipil) sebanyak 98% serta responden dengan pendapatan keluarga lebih dari Rp 2.000.000,- perbulan (93%).Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa tingkat pengetahuan pasien terhadap pemakaian obat antibiotika amoxicillin terhadap pasien rawat jalan di RSU Dr. H. Koesnadi Bondowoso (61,3%).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of theophylline floating tablet formulation with HPMC as matrix. Floating tablets of theophylline is manufactured by direct compression. Composition per tablet formulation consisting of theophylline 270 mg, HPMC, avicel, magnesium stearate, and sodium bicarbonate. The results of data showed average of tablet weight uniformity 501mg, tablet hardness 6,99 kg, tablet friability 0,593%, disintegration time of tablets 738 seconds, floating lag time (FLT) 584,3 seconds and floating duration time (FDT) more than 8 hours. Floating tablet formulation of theophylline resulted in a good physical test.Keyword: floating, theophylline, HPMC, tablet

Abstract

Gummy candies paracetamol is chew candy containing the active subtance paracetamol with sweetener of sorbitol and cassava liquid sugar. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of sorbitol and cassava liquid sugar as sweeteners on the physical properties of gummy candies paracetamol. Formulation of paracetamol gummy candies using diference concentration of sorbitol (20%, 15%, 10%) and cassava liquid sugar (40%, 45%, 50%).was used as the method pre-experimental design research method with one-shot case study design. Testing the physical properties of the preparations that have become chewing gum includes organoleptic tests, weight uniformity tests, pH tests and then the results are compared with the requirements in the literature. The results of the research on the physical properties of paracetamol gummy candy concluded that variations in the concentration of sorbitol sweetener and cassava liquid sugar had an effect on the uniformity of weight. Variations in the concentration of sorbitol sweetener and cassava liquid sugar did not affect the physical organoleptic properties of aroma, color, taste, texture, and physical properties of pH.Keywords : paracetamol, gummy candies, sorbitol, cassava liquid sugar

Abstract

Glibenclamide is a sulfonylurea class of antidiabetic drugs that works by stimulating insulin secretion in the pancreas so that it is effective only when the β-cells of the pancreas can still produce. The glibenclamide dosage form that is on the market is a conventional oral tablet which has various disadvantages in terms of pharmacokinetics. Based on this, it is necessary to develop a more effective drug delivery system for glibenclamide in order to avoid first-pass metabolism so as to increase the bioavailability of glibenclamide, namely by making mucoadhesive buccal tablets. This glibenclamide mucoadhesive buccal tablet is formulated using a variety of mucoadhesive polymers, namely CMC Na and oleic acid as enhancers. The manufacture of four mucoadhesive buccal tablet formulas used the direct compression method. The results of the weight uniformity test showed that they did not meet the NP requirements specified, all formulas had an NP of more than 15. The tablet hardness test also showed results that did not meet the test requirements. However, the results of the physical properties of the brittleness, pH and swelling index showed the results that met the test requirements. In this research, the optimum variation of CMC Na polymer and oleic acid as enhancers to physical properties (hardness, brittleness, pH, swelling ability) and the release of glibenclamide mucoadhesive tablets were CMC Na of 37.5 mg and oleic acid of 3.5. ml.

Abstract

This research is aims to determine the effect of variation concentration starch Zea mays (L) as disintegration agent in wet granulation to physical characteristics paracetamo. This research used eperimental method by one shot case study. Paracetamol as active ingredient, starch zea mays (L)as desintegrant agent, PVPK30 as binding agent, avicel as filler and Mg stearat as lubricants. The result of SPSS showed significant (p0,05), that means no difference in the three formulation. The first test is weight uniformity show that from column A and B qualify weight requirement range, hardness test. Showed significant (p0,05) that means nodifference in the three formulation. Friability test showed significant (p 0,05) the last is disintegration time test showed that significant (P0,05) no difference in the three formulation. The research of physic characteristic of the tablet showed that hardness test and time test not qualif. Analysis SPSS showed (p0,05) no difference in the three formulation and amilum had no effect on physical test of paracetamol tablet.Keywords: zea mays (L),paracetamol,physicial characteristic
