Abstract

The synthesis of amoxicillin derivate has been done by reacting amoxicillin with 4-t-butylbenzoil chloride. The product was characterized by organoleptic test, melting point determination, TLC, UV/Vis Spectrophotometry, and FTIR Spectrophotometry. Antibacterial activity of amoxicillin derivative against Salmonella typhi were tested using dilution method. Result showed that the product has characteristic as follow: light yellow powder, bitter bite, melting point of 132 °C, Rf value of 0.86, pH value of 7.7, maximum wavelength (uv) of 286 nm. Moreover, FTIR spectra of amoxicillin derivate exhibited peaks at 3271 cm-1 (-NH amine), 2962 cm-1 (-CH aromatic), 1633 cm-1 (-C=O ketone), and other. Antibacterial test showed that amoxicillin derivate was unable to form a clear zone around the disc paper. Amoxicillin derivate cannot be used for the treatment of Salmonella typhi.

Abstract

Community service activities undertaken by lecturers from Pharmacy Diploma III Program of Pharmacy Academy of Jember held on February 5, 2017, held at MTs. and MA. Habiburrahman Jatian, Pakusari Jember provides benefits for students in terms of maintaining reproductive health. MTs. and MA. Habiburrahman is junior high school and senior high school under the Ministry of Religious Affairs located in Jatian-Pakusari-Jember. MTs. and MA. Habibirrahman also has a religious education institution that is Pondok Pesantren Habibirrahman. Nearly 90% of students and female students of MTs. and MA. Habiburrahman is santri. The results show that the knowledge of female students of MTs and MA Habiburrahman on how to maintain reproductive health are in very good category. However, in terms of student behavior against the usage of soap cleaning or betel soap to clean the feminine area showed poor results. As many as 22 students of MA and 24 female students of MTs or about 84% of female students of MA and 46% of MTs students never cleaned the feminine area with cleansing soap or betel soap. the behavior of female students in making traditional herbs to maintain reproductive health showed poor results. More than 70% of MTs and 96% of female students of MA Habiburrahman never made traditional herbs to maintain female reproductive health.

Abstract

Madrasah Habibul Badri merupakan salah satu madrasah atau lembagapendidikan non formal berbasis keagaman yang terletak di Dusun Calok Desa Arjasa Kecamatan Arjasa Jember. Santri Madrasah Habibul Badri merupakan anak usia 6-14 tahun yang bertempat tinggal dilingkungan madrasah. Dengan demikian, pembentukan karakter individu anak menjadi sangat penting agar anak-anak tersebut menjadi pribadi yang berkarakter secara individu maupun sosial. Kondisi latar belakang ekonomi dan keluarga santri Madrasah Habibul Badri saat ini sebagian besar menggambarkan kelompok status ekonomi menengah ke bawah dengan latar belakang pendidikan orang tua juga rendah. Oleh karena itu, Madrasah Habibul Badri tidak memungut biaya pada santri yang belajar disana. Kondisi tersebut menjadi salah satu sebab tingkat keterampilan dan pemahaman orang tua santri tentang kesehatan masih rendah. Linimentum atau liniment adalah sediaan cair atau kental yang mengandung analgesik dan zat yang memiliki sifat rubefacient untuk menghangatkan, dan digunakan sebagai aplikasi topikal. Jahe memiliki bau yang khas dan rasa panas atau pedas sehingga cocok diformulasikan untuk obat gosok. Liniment jahe mempunyai banyak khasiat dalam bidang kesehatan diantaranya yaitu untuk mengatasi rematik, tulang keropos, asma, stroke, dan menghangat kan badan Hasil program Iptek bagi Masyarakat tentang pembelajaran berbasis yang telah dilaksanakan di Madrasah Habibul Badri melalui metode pembelajaran outbond menunjukkan bahwa santri mengikuti kegiatan tersebut dengan sangat baik, sehingga kegiatan tersebut nantinya akan membantu membentuk karakter yang baik pada santri. Selanjutnya, program pelatihan pembuatan liniment pada Ibu wali santri juga berjalan sangat baik. Pelatihan tersebut diharapkan akan memberikan informasi kepada Ibu wali santri tentang liniment.

Abstract

Habiburrahman was senior high school under the Ministry of Religious Affairs located in Jatian-Pakusari-Jember. MA. Habibirrahman also has a religious education institution that is Pondok Pesantren Habibirrahman. Nearly 70% of students of MA. Habiburrahman were santri. The results show that MA Habiburrahaman does not have a curculum that focuses on the attachment of students. Therefore, this program provides many benefits to students to add soft skills in the field of technology. In addition, this program is in great demand by all students. Abstract

Gel merupakan sediaan topikal setengah padat yang nyaman digunakan karena menciptakan lingkungan lembab, dingin dan daya serap yang baik pada kulit serta mudah dicuci dengan air. Gel ekstrak kulit buah pisang telah terbukti mampu mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka bakar melalui peningkatan ekspresi VEGF dan kolagen. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi sifat fisik dan uji iritasi gel ekstrak kulit buah pisang. Desain penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental. Sebanyak empat ekor kelinci, masing-masing kelinci diberi enam perlakuan (basis gel, gel do 12.5%, gel do 25%, gel do 50% dan bioplacenton). Penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 tahap, tahap pertama pembuatan ekstrak kulit buah pisang, tahap kedua formulasi sediaan gel, tahap ketiga evaluasi sifat fisik dan uji iritasi. Sifat fisik meliputi uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat dan uji pH. Uji iritasi dilakukan dengan mengamati iritasi berupa eritema dan edema selama 24 jam, 48 jam, dan 72 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan daya sebar gel ekstrak berbeda bermakna dengan basis gel dan bioplasenton (p<0.05). Daya lekat gel ekstrak berbeda bermakna dengan basis gel (p<0.05). Uji pH gel ekstrak berbeda bermakna dengan basis gel (p<0.05). Uji iritasi menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna (p>0.05) antar semua perlakuan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kulit kelinci tidak terjadi eritema maupun edema.

Abstract

Protein is the main nutrient needed at the beginning of life, especially babies, but many things that cause the baby cannot be breastfed by his mother. The alternative is to give cow milk as a substitute for ASI. This study aims to determined the differences in protein levels and what protein levels were found in breast milk and formula cow's milk for children aged 0-6 months in Jember Regency. The kjehdahl method was selected, namely destruction, distillation, and titration to determined protein levels in breast milk and formula milk. From the results of the experiment, it was found that protein levels were 0.28%, 0.36% and 0.17% for formula A, B and ASI milk. The results of the SPSS analysis test using the T test showed a significance value of 0,189 (p0.05). These results indicate that there are no differences in the levels of protein contained in formula milk and breast milk.Keywords: breast milk, formula milk, protein content, kjehdahl method.

Abstract

Antioxidants are compounds that can inhibit oxidation reactions with the free radicals and molecules are highly reactive. According to the previous research, edamame (Glycin max (L)Merril) plant is one of the plants that contains isoflavon compound that serves as an antioxidant. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of edamame extracts. This study is an experimental study. Edamame beans extract obtained by remaceration during 24 hours using 96% ethanol. The concentration of edamame beans extract were make different concentration from 90 ppm, 121,3 ppm, 143 ppm, 173,1 ppm. The extract then added with 0,02 g of DPPH free radicals that have been disolved in 100 mL of 96% ethanol. Those solutions were measured at wavelength 516,5 nm by an UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Vitamin C used as positive control. The result of Antioxidant activity of edamame beans extract has IC50value of 177,2 ppm and Vitamin C as a control has a IC50value 0,18 ppm.It means that 177,2 ppm of edamame beans extract classified as low antioxidant.Keywords : edamame beans (Glycin max L Merril, Antioxidant activity, DPPH method

Abstract

The purpose of this research is determine the polyphenol content of brewed tea. Sample were used three sample. Polyphenol compounds of packaged tea were extracted using percolation method with ethanol 70%. Qualitative test were used using FeCl3 reagent and quantitative test polyphenol content were determined using UV-Vis spectrophotometry method with Folin Ciocalteau reagent. Galic acid was used as comparator in this research. The result of qualitative test is all sample of packaged tea containing polyphenol. Polyphenol content sample A, B, and C, with peercolation method were respectively 0,538; 0,554; and 0,470; %b/b.Keyword: packaged tea, polyphenol, percolation, UV-Vis spectrophotometry

Abstract

The synthesis of amoxicillin derivatives was carried out by reaction of amoxicillin with p-aminophenol which was catalyzed by MgF2. The aims of this research was to characterize amoxicillin derivatives. The compounds have been characterized by physical and chemical tests including organoleptic test, melting point test, pH test, Rf value test and maximum wavelength test. The results showed that the compounds having physical characteristics including organoleptic was brown powder and bitter taste with 238°C melting point. The chemical characteristic showed that Rf value was about 0.6, a pH was 6,1 and a maximum wavelength was 311 nm.
