Abstract

This research is based on the background that teachers still use the one-way lecture learning model which the teacher dominates, thus making students passive, lack of students' mathematical communication skills, especially in learning mathematics.. This study aims to: (1) determine the differences in the initial abilities of students in the experimental class and control class; (2) find out whether students' mathematical communication skills given the Three Step Interview type cooperative model are better than the conventional model; (3) find out how the influence of the learning model cooperative type Three Step Interview on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is an experimental study with a Nonequivalent Control Group research design. Data collection techniques using a mathematical communication ability test which consists of four question in the form of a description. Te date analysis technique was carried out by normality test, homogeneity test, average difference test, and effect size. Based on the calculation of hypothesis test 1, obtained t_(count) 1.056 and t_(table) 1.685 at a significance level of 5%, which means t_(count) > t_(table) ( 1.056 <1.685) Then H_(0) is accepted. Test hypothesis 2 obtained t_(count) 3.016 and t_(table) 1.685 at a significance level of 5% which means t_(count)> t_(table) (3.016 > 1.685) then H(0) is rejected and H(1) received. The effect size test is 0.9796, so the interpretation criteria are high. So it can be concluded that: (1) there is no difference in the initial abilities of the experimental class and control class students; (2) the mathematical communication ability of students who are given the Three Step Interview type of cooperative learning model is better than the conventional learning model; (3) the effect on the cooperative learning model Type Three Step Interview on students' mathematical communication skills is high

Abstract

Rapid changes in the world of technology require updates in learning approaches, especially in the field of mathematics which is often difficult to understand because of its abstract nature, such as material related to three-dimensional shapes. However, conventional methods are still dominant in the classroom, thus limiting students' understanding. One alternative that can answer this challenge is the use of Augmented Reality (AR). This community service activity was carried out together with the MGMP Mathematics SMP teacher forum in Serang City and aims to provide teachers with knowledge and skills in applying AR to mathematics learning for the material of Spatial Buildings. The implementation process involves four stages, namely identification of initial conditions, preparation of activity plans, implementation of training, and evaluation of results. A total of 67 teachers who attended from the invitation (socialization) from various class levels actively participated in this activity. The results showed an increase in teacher knowledge and abilities in integrating AR technology into a more interesting and meaningful learning process. The responses given by participants also showed high enthusiasm for the sustainability of similar programs. Therefore, follow-up programs such as intensive mentoring and development of AR-based teaching materials that are in accordance with the needs of the national curriculum are highly recommended to support the transformation of mathematics learning in schools.

Abstract

Abstract

Learning carried out in lectures requires a variety of learning resources to improve students' abilities for the better. During this time, lectures usually only use learning resources that vary little and tend to use only one source so that student learning outcomes are not maximized. This research was conducted to improve student learning outcomes, especially in communication skills and cognitive and student attitudes at Bina Bangsa University. The research method used is ADDIE development research, starting from the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Module development is carried out by measuring its effectiveness on communication skills using observation sheets, measuring cognitive abilities with tests, and observing attitudes with observation sheets. The application of the module in learning is carried out with a quasi-experimental design. Then, the results are analyzed descriptively with the ANCOVA statistical test using the SPSS application. The results showed improved communication skills, cognitive abilities, and student attitudes. Based on statistical tests, there are differences in the achievement of learning outcomes between the control and treatment classes. In the treatment class, the application of problem-based learning modules showed improved communication, cognitive, and student attitudes. However, based on the value of the gain score, the use of problem-based teaching modules on communication skills and student attitudes is in the range of low effectiveness, while in cognitive aspects, it is in the range of moderate effectiveness. Using ecology modules with problem-based learning is important because real problem-based learning makes learning more contextual, especially in courses that use environmental problems as the main study.

Abstract

Early childhood is a golden age in children's development that greatly determines the quality of their lives in the future. At this stage, children experience very rapid cognitive, social, emotional, and motor growth. One important aspect in cognitive development is numeracy skills, namely the ability to understand, interpret, and use the concept of numbers and basic mathematical operations in everyday life. Early introduction to digital numeracy can help children build a foundation for logical, analytical, and problem-solving thinking. The family environment is the first and main place for children to learn various things, including the concept of digital numeracy. The role of parents as the first educators is very important in providing stimulation and early learning through daily activities. This study is a quantitative study with a descriptive approach that reveals a phenomenon/condition by describing it in numerical form. The research sample was parents who have children aged 0-6 years in Cigoong Village, Walantaka District, Serang City, totaling 26 people. The misconception questionnaire instrument uses the Guttman measurement scale by adapting the modified Kemendikbudristek. The results of the study show that parents' perceptions of the introduction of digital numeracy to early childhood are still mixed between correct understanding and various forms of misconceptions. In general, there is a positive understanding that early childhood is ready to be introduced to digital numeracy, but many parents still understand numeracy narrowly, only as a counting skill, and are often equated with formal academic activities
