Abstract

Kasus pencemaran lingkungan sebagian besar diakibatkan oleh kurang tepatnya penanganan limbah di beberapa daerah. Limbah merupakan hasil sisa dari suatu kegiatan produksi. Daerah Ponjong, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta sebagian besar masyarakat menekuni pekerjaan  penggergajian batu alam.  Limbah yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan penggergajian batu alam adalah abu batu dan pecahan batu. Limbah abu batu dan pecahan batu tersebut belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Limbah yang menumpuk mengakibatkan tanah menjadi keras dan kesuburannya berkurang. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka pada penelitian ini mengusulkan tentang analisis sifat fisik dan mekanik beton dengan campuran abu batu sebagai pengganti agregat halus sebagai pengganti pasir pasir. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan akan mengetahui sifat fisik dan mekanik beton dengan campuran abu batu sebagai pengganti pasir. Komposisi abu batu sebagai pengganti pasir  yaitu 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50% dari berat pasir. Dari komposisi tersebut benda uji akan di uji densitas (density), kuat tekan (compression strength) pada umur beton 28 hari. Pengujian benda uji menggunakan Universal Testing Machine. Nilai densitas yang diperoleh pada benda uji mengalami penurunan nilai densitas. Semakin banyak komposisi abi batu sebagai pengganti pasir nilai densitasnya semakin kecil. Begitu juga dengan hasil uji kuat tekan mortar. Kuat tekan mortar dengan komposisi abu batu semakin banyak maka kuat tekan beton semakin menurun.

Abstract

Terjadinya gempa bumi hingga kini belum bisa diprediksi, sehingga masyarakat harus siaga menghadapi gempa, terutama bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di daerah rawan gempa. Program sekolah siaga bencana bertujuan mempersiapkan komunitas sekolah agar memiliki kesiapsiagaan yang tinggi, sehingga apabila gempabumi terjadi pada saat jam sekolah, kerusakan dan kerugian akibat gempa dapat diminimalisir. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan siswa SDN Kanoman dalam rangka menyiapkan terwujudnya Sekolah Siaga Bencana. Kegiatan berupa pendidikan kebencanaan pada siswa yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 18 Maret 2022 di SDN Kanoman yang terletak di desa Kanoman Kecamatan Gamping Sleman. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 29 orang, dengan didampingi guru dan kepala sekolah. Pendidikan kebencanaan diberikan dengan metode workshop, yang menggabungkan antara ceramah dan permainan untuk mengenalkan cara-cara penyelamatan diri ketika ada gempa. Dari kuosioner prestest dan postest yang disebarkan kepada peserta, diketahui bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman rata-rata siswa tentang bencana gempa sebesar 6 - 34%, pemahaman kerawanan lokasi sebesar 69%, dan kesiapsiagaan bencana gempa sebesar 10 - 41%. Hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian dengan siswa dan guru, menyimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian sangat bermanfaat dan fihak sekolah mengharapkan kegiatan dapat dialakukan kembali pada masa mendatang.

Abstract

Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Muhammadiyah Blembem is an elementary school located in Candirejo Village, Kapanewon Semin, Gunungkidul Regency. The school is accredited by B, with a total of 93 students. In 2022 there was a landslide disaster in a location close to the school, and it caused casualties and the loss of several houses due to being buried. Several students living in the affected areas also felt the impact of the landslide disaster which caused trauma. Therefore, students need a good understanding of the threat of disasters at school locations and the preparedness they must have. This service community activity intends to provide an understanding of disaster to students through workshops and games. After participating in this disaster workshop, students are expected to know the condition of the school and the disaster threats that exist in the school environment and have good preparedness if a disaster does occur in the future. The disaster workshop activity was held on March 4, 2023, at the MI Muhammadiyah Blembem location and was attended by 39 students from classes 3, 4, and 5. Participants are involved in games, singing, and watching videos to provide a good understanding of disaster preparedness. Based on the pretest and post-test questionnaires, the results obtained were 10 - 80% of students felt they had gained a new understanding of the disaster. This understanding is expected to increase student preparedness in dealing with disasters and eliminate trauma

Abstract

Waste tires are a serious problem in many countries in the world, including Indonesia, this is because waste is a solid material that is difficult to decompose and even recycle. The utilization of waste tires in the field of civil engineering and environmental infrastructure is something that needs to be developed. Utilization of rubber powder can be used as a partial substitute for sand in concrete mixtures used in structural concrete and non-structural concrete. This research was conducted by experimental method on cylindrical specimens to test the compressive strength and concrete blocks to test the damping power of 28 days old concrete. The test parameters are the compressive strength and damping coefficient of the rubber powder mixture. The variation of thetest object used is the replacement of used tire rubber powder against sand by 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. The test results show that the more mixture of rubber powder in the concrete can reduce the compressive strength of the concrete and increase the damping ratio of the concrete.

Abstract

The Winongo River originates in the Opak River and has many potential hazards such as flooding, cold lava floods and riverbank landslides, so a disaster risk analysis is necessary. The research area is located in the headwaters of the river which passes through the villages of Sendangadi, Sinduadi, Trihango, Bener, Tegalrejo and Pakuncen. The method used is semi-quantitative and qualitative, using tabular data and numerical assessment of land use, population and river hydrology. With the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method which determines the best choice from several supporting data. The method of determining disaster risk by weighting follows the Regulation of the Director General of BNPB Year 2012. A disaster risk assessment using the AHP method obtained a score of 1.1 in Sendangadi Village, 1.6 in Sinduadi Village. Trihanggo has a value of 1.1, Bener has a value of 1.3, Tegalrejo has a value of 1.4, and Pakuncen has a value of 1.5. Sendangadi and Trihango villages have the lowest risk level with the same value of 1.1. From the results of the disaster risk analysis it has been found that in all sub-districts that are flowed by the upstream Winongo River, they have a low level of risk.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has a fairly high seismic condition. This is because Indonesia is passed by the Pacific Ring of Fire, which brings together many world plates, so it is natural that many earthquakes occur in Indonesia. With a fairly high seismic condition, there is a need for vigilance and actions taken to overcome the situation. The infrastructure sector becomes an important spotlight when an earthquake occurs because casualties are often caused by structural failures that are not strong enough to withstand the earthquake load. This is similar to what happened in the earthquake in Cianjur in 2022, which claimed many lives due to the numerous structural failures in permanent residences. Therefore, this research was conducted to evaluate the permanent residences of the community related to the vulnerability that occurred due to the earthquake. Building vulnerability testing is carried out using the Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) method with data from 11 earthquake records. Later, the building’s response to the earthquake load will be obtained, and the probability of damage seen from the vulnerability curve will be known. The five performance levels of the building are Operational Phase (OP), Immediate Occupancy (IO), Damage Control (DC), Life Safety (LS), and Collapse Prevention (CP).

Abstract

Brick masonry walls are a type of construction that is in great demand, because the material is easy to obtain at a cheap price. Additionally, the process does not require any special skills. The strength of the wall is greatly influenced by the strength of the materials that make it up, namely bricks and mortar as adhesive. The role of bricks and mortar in creating wall strength needs to be investigated for their effectiveness. This research aims to obtain an overview of the effectiveness of the role of bricks or mortar in forming the compressive strength of masonry walls. To get the illustration in question, a compressive strength test of mortar, brick and masonry walls was carried out which was represented by masonry prism test objects referring to ASTM C1314-07. The test results are then compared to get an idea of the relationship between the three. From the research results it can be concluded that the compressive strength of masonry walls is determined more by the compressive strength of the bricks, but is also influenced by the compressive strength of the mortar. The higher the compressive strength of the mortar, the compressive strength of the wall will increase, but it is not significant. Therefore, the use of high strength mortar is less effective in increasing wall strength.

Abstract

Kesiapsiagaan terhadap bencana merupakan faktor yang sangat penting dalam usaha mengurangi risiko akibat gempa bumi, karena sifat gempa bumi yang unpredictable. Jika gempa bumi terjadi pada saat jam pelajaran sekolah, maka komunitas sekolah harus memiliki kesiapsiagaan yang baik, yaitu mengetahui apa yang harus dilakukan atau dihindari. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan siswa SDN Nogosaren dalam menghadapi gempa bumi, terutama jika gempa terjadi pada saat jam sekolah. Peserta merupakan siswa kelas V yang didampingi oleh guru kelas dan kepala sekolah. Bentuk kegiatan berupa pemaparan tentang pengetahuan bencana, kerentanan lokasi sekolah terhadap gempa, risiko gempa, serta cara penyelamatan diri jika terjadi gempa. Pemaparan materi diikuti dengan pelatihan dan permainan agar mudah diingat oleh siswa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 26 Maret 2022 di SDN Nogosaren yang terletak di desa Nogotirto, Kecamatan Gamping Sleman. Berdasarkan hasil prestest dan posttest yang disebarkan kepada peserta sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan, diperoleh hasil bahwa kegiatan pengabdian dapat meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan siswa dalam hal pengetahuan tentang gempa (6 - 13%), kerawanan lokasi sekolah (26%), dan apa yang harus dilakukan jika ada gempa (6 - 33%).

Abstract

Sungai Winongo di Yogyakarta merupakan salah satu sungai yang rawan terhadap banjir. Longsoran tebing sungai sering terjadi pada musim hujan karena debit aliran meningkat. Hal ini menimbulkan risiko bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di sepanjang bantaran. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi kapasitas masyarakat dalam pengurangan risiko bencana melalui pendekatan berbasis informasi masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei lapangan untuk mengamati kondisi fisik tebing sungai, wawancara masyarakat, dan penyebaran kuesioner untuk mengukur tingkat kesiapsiagaan masyarakat. Dari hasil pengisian kuesioner, ditemukan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat telah memiliki kesadaran tentang risiko longsor, namun kurang didukung oleh infrastruktur yang memadai. Sebanyak 46,99% desa masih belum memiliki alokasi dana untuk mitigasi bencana, dan 69,88% desa belum memiliki sistem peringatan dini. Program ini juga mencatat bahwa partisipasi masyarakat dalam pelatihan tanggap darurat masih rendah, hanya 31,33%. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya kebutuhan mendesak untuk memperkuat sistem peringatan dini, dan mengoptimalkan alokasi dana untuk mitigasi bencana. Kegiatan ini menjadi langkah awal untuk memperkuat ketahanan masyarakat terhadap ancaman longsor tebing sungai di Sungai Winongo

Abstract

Waste has become a problem for all of us and the environment in which we live. Every day, garbage is produced as a result of various human activities. Natural waste production is increasing in lockstep with population and industry growth but has yet to be proportional to final landfill capacity. This causes issues with waste management. This service aims to increase public awareness of waste management methods and processing waste on a household scale. This service uses the socialization of waste sorting and training in processing organic waste from households. This service uses the socialization of waste sorting and training in processing organic waste from households. This service program benefits the community in the following ways: the community is aware of the various types of waste that exist, the community has increased waste management awareness, and the community is aware of proper waste management and processing.
