Abstract

Pantai Bira adalah salah satu destinasi wisata di Sulawesi Selatan yang sangat populer dikunjungi oleh wisatawan mancanegara (wisman). Namun, kemampuan berbahasa Inggris guide lokal masih sangat rendah dan UMKM lokal kesulitan dalam mengembangkan usaha mikro mereka, seperti produk cenderamata dan kuliner olahan. Produk-produk ini hanya dipasarkan di Pantai Bira dan proses pengemasan makanan olahan belum memenuhi standar yang dibutuhkan, termasuk labelling merek dagang dan izin usaha. Hal ini berdampak negatif pada minat beli pengunjung. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan mencakup interpersonal interaction, pair practice conversation, dan role play. Pelathan UMKM difokuskan pada diversifikasi produk kuliner olahan, labelling merek dagang, izin usaha dan pemasaran. Hasil PKM, pemandu wisata di Pantai Bira telah mengalami peningkatan kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris. Selain manfaat bagi pemandu wisata, strategi pemasaran produk UMKM di Pantai Bira juga telah mencapai hasil yang positif. Dampaknya meliputi peningkatan penjualan, peningkatan pengenalan merek dagang, kepercayaan pelanggan yang meningkat, ekspansi pasar melalui kemitraan, peningkatan kualitas produk dan layanan, serta pengembangan produk ekowisata. Selain itu, penyediaan informasi yang lengkap dan fasilitas yang memadai telah meningkatkan pengalaman wisatawan yang pada akhirnya mendukung pertumbuhan UMKM dan ekonomi lokal.

Abstract

Pengaruh Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek Terhadap Motivasi Dan Keterampilan Menulis Teks Pidato Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Tri Dharma Makassar. Masalah utama dari penelitian ini yaitu siswa kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran dan rendahnya hasil belajar Menulis Teks Pidato Siswa kelas VIII SMP Tri Dharma Makassar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap motivasi dan dan keterampilan menulis teks pidato pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Tri Dharma Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pre eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yakni One Group Pretest-Posttest Desaign. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VIII dengan jumlah 33 siswa, menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pada data hasil belajar menulis teks pidato, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, angket respon siswa dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Berdasarkan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial, dengan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1). Terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap motivasi siswa dengan rata-rata persentase keaktian siswa adalah 74%. 2). Terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar dengan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa berada dalam kategori tinggi berdasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai rata-rata gain ternormalisasi siswa sebesar 0,8056 atau 80,56%. 3). Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran teks pidato dengan penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek mencapai 84% yakni respon yang baik atau positif.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly embedded in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning, offering both pedagogical opportunities and challenges in higher education. Understanding how teachers and students employ AI platforms is essential to optimize their benefits while addressing potential risks. This study employed a mixed-methods approach at a private university in Makassar. Quantitative data were collected through surveys involving 70 students and 35 English teachers, while qualitative insights were obtained from in-depth interviews with 30 students and 15 teachers. Data triangulation ensured reliability across survey and interview findings. Survey results showed differences in AI platform usage between teachers and students. Teachers primarily used QuillBot for paraphrasing, Turnitin for plagiarism detection, ChatGPT for chatbots, and Hello English for English-based learning. Students favored HIX.AI for paraphrasing, GPTZero for plagiarism, DeepSeek for chatbot interaction, and ELSA for English practice. Both groups frequently used DeepL as a translation tool. Interview data revealed challenges for teachers, including balancing facilitator roles with AI use, limited platform updates, accessibility barriers, and high costs of premium versions. Students’ challenges included overreliance on AI and limited access due to paid subscriptions. The findings highlight both opportunities and constraints in AI-assisted EFL learning. While AI enhances personalization and efficiency, it risks dependency and inequity in access. The study underscores the need for digital literacy training for teachers, institutional support for equitable access, and the development of adaptive AI-based learning models tailored to local contexts.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. To investigate the impact of the story face strategy and the concept mapping strategy on second grade students' reading comprehension at senior high school. This is an experimental study with a pre test and post test design. The research sample consisted of second grade students (2 Sains classes) during the academic year 2018/2019, and the purposive sampling technique was used. The effect of Story Face Strategy and Concept Mapping Strategy toward reading comprehension based on the data indicates that there was significant effect between data in pre-test and data taken from post-test of the students' achievement. The value of the test was highly significant showed as 19.088 and the t-table was showed as 2.093. The value score of t-test was quite higher than the t-table (19.088 2.093). It is concluded that the Story Face Strategy and Concept Mapping Strategy are effective in teaching reading skill to senior high school second grade students.
