Abstract

Photodiode is a type of photodetector. P-I-N (PIN) link photodiode was chosen in this study. This selection is based on high sensitivity and rapid response to any changes in light. BPW 34 type photodiode is used as a photodetector and RGB bright LED as its light source. The selection of RGB bright LEDs is based on its ability to automatically change the beam spectrum based on bit changes. As a medium for propagating light, a single mode optical fiber is used. In addition to designing hardware, this research also designs applications through Arduino IDE 1.0.4 and LabVIEW 2013 so that hardware can be controlled and displayed on a PC. As a microcontroller, the Arduino UNO module was used in this study. The results of this study indicate that the rays on the RGB bright LED can be controlled through the bit system on a PC (Personal Computer), and can bring up the measurement results of sugar content through a PC.

Abstract

Abstrak : Tebu merupakan salah satu tanaman penghasil gula. Kualitas gula yang dihasilkan sangat dipengaruhi oleh bahan baku utamanya yaitu nira tebu, sehingga diperlukan pengukuran kandungan nira pada tebu. Pada penelitian ini, dibuat alat ukur kandungan gula pada nira tebu yang terintegrasi dengan sistem PC. Selain nira tebu, digunakan larutan gula sebagai objek penelitian lainnya. Alat ukur yang dibuat memanfaatkan prinsip penjalaran sinar ketika melewati objek penelitian. Sumber sinar yang digunakan adalah RGB bright LED, fiber optic sebagai medium perambatan sinar, fotodioda BPW 34 sebagai fotodetektor, modul Arduino UNO sebagai modul mikrokontroler, dan refraktometer digital untuk mendapatkan data pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat ukur sudah bisa terintegrasi dengan sistem PC. Penelitian pada larutan gula menunjukkan bahwa sinar kuning mampu memberikan perubahan tegangan keluaran sistem sensor yang paling besar setiap variasi konsentrasi larutan, dan didapatkan kurva kalibrasi untuk penelitian pada nira tebu selanjutnya. Penelitian pada nira tebu menunjukkan bahwa masih ada perbedaan hasil pengukuran kandungan gula dari fotodetektor terhadap refraktometer digital.Kata kunci: fotodioda, kurva kalibrasi, nira tebu.

Abstract

Design intelligent control to maximize the performance of the Four-Wheeled Mobile Robot (FWMR) in case of uphill road problems. The variation of slope angle and load variation on the uphill road is applied to know the performance of the automatic control system on FWMR. The research is divided into three two covering, system identification, design system and simulation testing. The Rotary speed control system response with fuzzy-PID control method has a good performance by anticipating various tilt angle 5o. The system can through uphill with loads 11N with a steady time and fast travel time. The best travel time in the 5o tilt angle condition is 2 seconds with a 4m circuit length. This research concludes that fuzzy-PID control can be implemented and increase the dynamic response of the FWMR effectively on the uphill road problems.

Abstract

It has been made an electronic system for measurement of sugar cane in solution media. This system uses a pin photodiode as a sensor, laser source, optical fiber, an operational amplifier (Op-Amp), analog to digital converter (ADC) of the Arduino, and computers. The main operation of the measurement system is done by the sensor and controlled by computer. The the photodiode sensor sends a signal to a signal processing unit (op-amp) and converted to a digital signal by the ADC. The digital signal is then forwarded for processing and display (computer). We Concluded that the system working well because of the sugar content information can be simultaneously displayed on the monitor .Keywords: sugar content, pin photodiode, computer

Abstract

Sejak Maret 2020, World Health Organization telah menetapkan COVID-19 sebagai Pandemi. Penyebaran COVID-19 telah dikonfirmasi terjadi di seluruh Provinsi di Indonesia. Satu pasien yang dinyatan positif COVID-19 di Kabupaten Jember berasal dari Kecamatan Arjasa. Salah satu dari protokol berkomunikasi untuk mencegah penyebaran COVID-19 yaitu dengan menggunakan APD. Pada tanggal 5 April 2020 pemerintah mengumumkan bahwa semua orang hendak keluar rumah harus menggunakan masker. Menurut Referensi dari jurnal internasional disebutkan bahwa masker kain dapat menyaring 60% dari partikel. Masker kain yang banyak diproduksi saat ini masih hanya satu atau dua lapis saja. Tidak semua masker berbahan catton. Masker kain yang ada hanya berupa masker saja dan hanya melindungi saluran masuknya virus dari organ pernafasan. Sedangkan virus juga dapat menular dari mukosa mata dan telinga. Kebanyakan masyarakat menggunakan masker tanpa disertai pelindung mata dan telinga. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah Pemberdayaan masyarakat Desa Kemuning Lor Kecamatan Arjasa Jember untuk memproduksi Masker redesign Polije berbahan dasar catton batik khas Jember dilapisi dengan filter droplet, dapat melindungi mata dan telinga sehingga efektif untuk mencegah penyebaran COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pendampingan, pelatihan dan ceramah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksankan pada bulan Juni sampai dengan Desember 2020. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat dalam membuat masker redesign Polije serta pemasaran maker secara online. Diharapkan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat menambah pendapatan masyarakat di era pandemi COVID-19

Abstract

Sistem ini terdiri atas 3-axis accelerometer MMA7260Q sebagai sensor percepatan, mikrokontroller, radio frekuensi, dan perangkat lunak penampil posisi muatan. Sistem melakukan pembacaan sinyal dengan waktu sampling 100ms. Data berupa posisi diperoleh dari hasil proses integral ganda terhadap keluaran accelerometer yang berupa percepatan (grativasi). Dari hasil pengujian, didapatkan bahwa sensor memiliki kesalahan pengukuran percepatan kurang dari 8%. Sistem secara keseluruhan dapat mengukur percepatan dan diubah kedalam bentuk jarak pada 3 sumbu dengan kesalahan pengukuran jarak  3,061% pada sumbu x dan  0,36% pada arah sumbu y, serta 1,023% pada arah sumbu z. Jarak tersebut ditampilkan pada Komputer dalam bentuk grafik 3 sumbu, sehingga akan tampil sebuah garis yang merepresentasikan posisi muatan roket.

Abstract

In this study, experimental trials will be carried out to find out the optimal recipe for processing corn oil and biodiesel oil produced by UMKM in Jember Regency (Indonesia) into biodiesel known as biosolar. Experimental conditions will be optimized to obtain partial transesterification of coconut oil and corn oil using a variety of common methoxide for the production of biosolar. Biosolar production using conventional methods has not yet produced fuel that meets modern engine standards, further research is needed to overcome this problem, including by making an advanced processing method. The following experimental parameters will be varied : liquid temperature (40-60ºC), processing time (1800 to 3600 sec.), catalyst (0.5-1,25 % of total weight.), and proportional of methanol oil mix ratio (m/o) (1:3-1:6). The maximum value parameter of biodiesel reaching 98.12% was produced by methoxide from KOH  at 60 minutes of process, in 60 oC temperature and an oil – methanol mix ratio of 1:0.25. The optimal conditions for biosolar production also with biosolar fuel properties varied catalysts were tested with the standard methods of 14214EN and ASTMD6751. The results showed that optimum catalysts for biosolar production using coconut oil and corn oil are 0.8 % of total weight of either KOH and NaOH catalyst.

Abstract

Kendaraan listrik memiliki prospek yang menjanjikan untuk dikembangkan. Kendaraan listrik tipe Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) dan Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) dapat menjadi solusi terkait ketergantungan terhadap sumber energi fosil serta emisi gas buang. Khusus untuk tipe BEV, perkembangan di Indonesia sudah pesat. Tahapan metode penelitian ini, dimulai dengan menentukan mitra kerja sama dari dunia usaha dan industri. Berikutnya adalah merancang, dan memperhitungkan desain prototype kendaraan listrik roda dua. Desain prototype selanjutnya diwujudkan melalui pabrikasi komponen rangka dan body di PT. Manufactur Dynamic Indonesia sebagai mitra. Kendaraan listrik roda dua yang akan dikembangkan akan dilengkapi dengan sistem kendali motor listrik. Selanjutnya, pengujian dengan memberikan variasi pembebanan dilakukan pada penelitian ini. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui performa kendaraan listrik dan baterai yang digunakan. Sepeda motor listrik yang telah berhasil dirancang dan dikembangkan menggunakan penggerak motor listrik tipe BLDC 1 Kw. Dengan dilengkapi dengan beberapa komponen, meliputi: Baterai Lithium ion 18650 yang dirangkai seri paralel; Controller untuk motor listrik; Handle gas; Display indicator; Lampu penerangan dan lampu indikator; Handle rem dengan switch. Dengan beban driver yang paling ringan (50 kg), didapatkan jarak tempuh yang paling jauh 17 km dan waktu tempuh yang paling lama pula yakni 47 menit. Beban driver 55 kg, didapatkan jarak tempuh 15,94 km dan waktu tempuh 38 menit. Sedangkan untuk beban driver 60 kg adalah 12,71 km dan 37 menit. Dengan jarak tempuh paling jauh dan waktu tempuh yang paling lama, pengujian dengan beban driver 50 kg juga memiliki penurunan tegangan baterai yang paling besar, yakni 3,6 Volt. Sedangkan pada pengujian beban driver 55 kg dan 60 kg adalah 3,3 Volt dan 3,15 Volt.

Abstract

The conversion of agricultural land is an issue that needs attention because of the community's dependence on the agricultural sector and a serious threat to national food security with permanent impacts. Difficulty in irrigating agricultural land is one of the triggering factors for increasing land conversion, then a technology is needed to overcome this problem. The purpose of the implementation of this community service is to make irrigation system support equipment by utilizing renewable energy, namely solar panels. Solar panels are used as an energy source to drive the pump. To find out the effectiveness of the manufacture of solar-powered irrigation pumps, a performance test of the tool is carried out, namely testing of energy gain and water discharge. The solar-powered irrigation pump with a capacity of 800 Wp can operate properly which results in an average energy gain of 940.4 Wh with an average discharge gain of 1.84 liters/second.

Abstract

The battery pack is one of the potential parts to be developed on a laboratory scale. The battery pack is a unit of several rechargeable battery cells assembled in series-parallel. Battery packs are generally equipped with a Battery management system (BMS). BMS is an electronic circuit that functions to limit the current and voltage entering the battery in the charging process when the battery is full. This will certainly prevent short circuits and increase battery life. As one of the vocational education institutions, SMK are expected to be able to read and take advantage of existing opportunities related to the increasing number of national vehicles and the acceleration of battery-based electric vehicles according to Presidential Regulation number 5 of 2019. In line with the link and match agenda of vocational universities with SMK, this community service team took the initiative to collaborate with SMK together with PTV as a facilitator and SMK teachers as SMK partners. This training activity begins with preparing an electric vehicle battery pack prototype and testing it in the automotive engine laboratory, engineering drawing and computing studio and DUDI partner workshops. At the end of the training, an evaluation was carried out in the form of a questionnaire on the success of the battery assembly training activities using a linkert scale. As a result, the battery assembly training which activities are measuring and monitoring battery pack, increase the knowledge of teachers about how to assemble 18650 lithium ion batteries according to the requirements of the motor that is used.
