Abstract

Pemindahan area pelayaran dilakukan guna memeperluas area pelayanan Batam Marine Ambulance (BMA).

Abstract

This study explores the spectral characterization of seaweed, Kappaphycus alvarezii, using the SparkFun Triad Spectroscopy Sensor AS7265x to assess the relationship between water content and light intensity. This research aims to provide a foundation for non-destructive monitoring of post-harvest seaweed quality using spectral techniques. The SeaSpec device was constructed using an ESP32 microcontroller, a TFT display, and the AS7265x sensor. Seaweed samples were collected from the coastal area of Karimun Islands and subjected to a controlled drying process at 40°C to determine the water content in the seaweed. The spectral data were recorded across 18 channels in the visible and infrared spectra, highlighting distinct patterns that correlate with varying moisture levels. A multiple linear regression analysis was employed to determine the contributions of individual spectral channels to water content prediction, revealing that each channel has its own unique contribution to the model. Coefficient of determination (R²), percentage error (%), and percentage accuracy (%) were also used to assess model performance. The results indicated that higher water content corresponds to increased light intensity. The analysis indicated that the visible spectrum outperformed the infrared spectrum in predictive accuracy, with an R² value of 0.79 compared to 0.61 for the infrared spectrum. This indicates that the visible light spectrum is more effective in predicting water content in K. alvarezii. The findings underscore the potential of spectral analysis as a reliable method for assessing the physico-chemical properties of seaweeds, advancing the use of optical sensors in aquaculture and environmental monitoring while paving the way for future research.

Abstract

In the ocean, acoustic waves are transmitted into the subsurface ocean will experience scattering (scattering) caused by marine organisms, material distributed, the structure is not homogeneous in seawater, as well as reflections from the surface and the seabed. Estimation of fish stocks in the waters wide as in Indonesia have a lot of them are using the acoustic method. The acoustic method has high speed in predicting the size of fish stocks so as to allow acquiring data in real time, accurate and high speed so as to contribute fairly high for the provision of data and information of fishery resources. Split beam echo sounder comprises two aspects, and a transducer. The first aspect is the high-resolution color display for displaying echogram at some observations and also serves as a controller in the operation of the echo sounder. The second aspect is transceiver consisting of transmitter and receiver. The echosounder divided beam first inserted into the ES 3800 by SIMRAD beginning of the 1980s and in 1985 was introduced to fishermen in Japan as a tool for catching up. Split beam transducer is divided into four quadrants. Factors that contribute affect the value of Target Strength (TS) fish Strength target can generally be influenced by three factors: a target factor itself, environmental factors, and factors acoustic instrument.

Abstract

This study aims to map benthic habitats in the coastal area of Nongsa, Batam, using Sentinel-2A satellite imagery processed using the Random Forest (RF) algorithm on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. The study area includes Teluk Mata Ikan, Tanjung Bemban, and Batu Besar, Nongsa District, Batam City, Kepulauan Riau Province. Field data were obtained through snorkeling surveys and underwater photo documentation in 16-18 August 2024. The four main habitat classes that were successfully identified include coral, sand, seagrass, and rubble (dead coral fragments). The classification results show the dominance of non-living substrates in the form of sand and rubble in most of the study area, while seagrass and coral are distributed in a limited area. Validation of the classification results produced an Overall Accuracy value of 89.90%, indicating a very good level of classification accuracy and suitability. The combination of Sentinel-2A imagery, RF algorithm, and GEE has proven to be effective, efficient, and replicable for mapping tropical benthic habitats spatially and periodically as a basis for sustainable coastal area management.

Abstract

The rapid development of large-scale infrastructure in Indonesia indicates the need for solutions for fast crack applications with accurate results using methods that are efficient in terms of time and data generated. One example of the development of mapping technology in this modern era is aerial photography not only using manned aircraft, but you can also use an unmanned aerial vehicle or UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). This unmanned aircraft is better known as a drone, which is currently at an affordable price, easy to get and has the ability to shoot like a manned aircraft. Measurements were made using photogrammetric techniques from aerial photographs produced by drones. With results that have high accuracy, and can be done in the shortest possible time, then the use of drones in making topographic maps will be more widely used in the future. In our study and research survey that we conducted in the form of PBL (Project Based Learning) Politeknik Negeri Batam students in community service in the soaking village, Tanjung Riau, Batam Island, namely for making aerial photo maps using the DJI Phantom 4 RTK drone which we carried out in the village soak.

Abstract

Tidal dynamics play a crucial role in coastal processes, port operations, and coastal management, particularly in regions characterized by complex oceanographic interactions such as Bintan Island, Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. This study analyzes the spatial variability of tidal characteristics in the coastal waters of Bintan Island at three observation sites, namely Bakau Bay, Tanjung Uban Port, and Moco Port, using global tidal prediction data generated by MIKE Powered by DHI and harmonic analysis based on the Admiralty method. Eight principal tidal constituents (M₂, S₂, K₁, O₁, N₂, P₁, K₂, and Q₁) were examined, and tidal types were classified using the Formzahl number. The results reveal clear spatial variability in tidal harmonic characteristics despite the close geographic proximity of the sites, with the M₂ constituent dominating tidal behavior at all locations, indicating strong lunar control. Significant contributions from diurnal constituents (K₁ and O₁) result in mixed tidal regimes, with Formzahl values of 1.10 at Bakau Bay, 0.66 at Tanjung Uban, and 1.29 at Moco, classifying all sites as mixed tides with a predominance of semidiurnal components. Variations in tidal amplitudes are closely related to local coastal morphology and exposure to open waters, with Tanjung Uban exhibiting the strongest tidal influence. This multi-location analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of spatial tidal variability in Bintan coastal waters and supports coastal planning, port management, and hydrodynamic modeling in the region.
