Abstract

Phenomena of excess demand need to be solved by developing dairy goat farming in Indonesia. Prima Fit is one of the farms that conduct a business development of dairy goat farming in 2010. This study was conducted to analyze the feasibility of dairy goat business development and determine the change in some variables. The result of non-financial aspects of the analysis states that according to the market aspect, technical production, management and legal, social, economic and cultural, as well as the environment, business is feasible for conducted either without development or with development. On the financial aspect criteria such as NPV, IRR, Net B/C, and the payback period state that business is feasible for conducting either without development or with development. Result of switching value and sensitivity analysis show that business without development is more sensitive to a decrease in price of milk goat, decrease in quantity of milk goat production, and increase in price of dregs of the tempeh than business with development.

Abstract

scarcity causes the competition of land use for rubber and oil palm plantation. Hence, the decision of land use is based on the differences of profit. The higher profits, the higher incentive to farmers for developing a commodity. Land scarcity also leads smallholders to improve both rubber and oil palm without use more land. Hence, it is important to analyze the determinant factors of profit in these commodities. Hence, the specific objectives were to identify factors determining rubber and oil palm smallholders profit in Batanghari, Jambi and to compare the profit generated by rubber and oil palm smallholder. Survey method was conducted from October to December 2012 through direct observation and interview techniques. Analysis method used in this research is ordinary least square (OLS) where this method is developed in two regression models and descriptive analysis. The results show that in rubber plantation, factors determining profit are land size, tree age, number of productive tree, district, farmer age, herbicide, and labor, while in oil palm plantation, factors influencing profit are tree age, number of productive tree, district, NPK, and herbicide. Based on average profit generated in planted period, oil palm plantations is more profitable than rubber plantation, they are Rp. 9.387.561,00 and Rp. 8.763.116,00 per ha per year, respectively.Karet, kelapa sawit, ordinary least square, laba

Abstract

Abstract

One of the production centers for red chili papers is North Sumatra Province. On the other hand, North Sumatra is one of the provinces that underwent agricultural land conversion. This study aims to examine how the size of the farm's land affects the farm performance of the red chili pepper crop in North Sumatra, measured by revenue, cost, income, and efficiency. The study was conducted in 2022–2023 using data from 1.876 farmers and secondary data from SHR2014 and BPS. The study employs two main research methods: (1) an analysis of revenue, cost, income, and revenue of cost ratio and (2) the use of the Kruskal-Wallis test to determine the impact of land size on farm performance. According to this study, the small-sized land farmers generate the highest total cost, and the large-sized land farmers use the lowest cost of production. On the other hand, the total revenue produced by small-sized land farmers has the highest cost, and the large-sized land farmers generate the lowest total revenue. Income calculation stated that small land farmers get the smallest income on cash cost, and large land farmers generate the most significant income. Thus, large land farmers achieve the highest revenue-of-cost ratio. According to the Kruskall-Wallis test, the land size affects the following: revenue, cost, income, and revenue of cost ratio. Consequently, it may be said that land area impacts the performance of red chili pepper farms.

Abstract

Bakso is the popular food in Indonesia and has many kinds of variation. One of them is Bakso Bakwan Malang Cak Su Kumis which has been established for decades by maintaining its unique taste. This study aims to identify the characteristics, analyze the level of satisfaction and the consumer loyalty. In this study, there were 100 respondents included. The methods used in this study are descriptive analysis, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and brand loyalty pyramid analysis. The results of the CSI analysis showed that the value of customer satisfaction has a score of 79,99 which states that consumers are satisfied. Besides that, analysis of the level of consumer loyalty shows that even though consumers are satisfied with the restaurant performance, consumers are not loyal yet. Hence, the performance improvement can be conducted by improving attributes with low performance such as sale promotion, serving time, name board, price and food hygiene.

Abstract

Abstract

Rice farmers generally have a dual role, namely as producers and consumers of the rice produced. The consumption of farmer households with a marketable surplus is inversely related. This research aims to analyze the marketable surplus of brown rice and the factors that influence the marketable surplus of brown rice. The analysis used is descriptive analysis, marketable surplus calculation, and regression models. The research results show that the marketable surplus for brown rice, taking into account sumbang sokong, is relatively small, namely 11.56 percent. Meanwhile, the marketable surplus of brown rice without taking into account the contribution is 46.89 percent. The sumbang sokong tradition greatly influences the amount of marketable surplus because the large proportion of brown rice allocated for sumbang sokong (35.33 percent). The marketable surplus of brown rice is significantly and positively influenced by the land area. Thus, increasing market surplus can be done through expanding land by encouraging farmer motivation through increasing market access. Besides that, the rising of productivity can be conducted to push the marketable surplus.
