Abstract

The tree architecture model is one of the important morphological features of the plants in characterizing each tree. Trees are plants with woody stems, deep roots, and have branches far from the ground and are more than 3 meters high (Hakim and Utomo 2003). trees are also one of the soft elements (softcape) that are very often used in the development of a site or landscape with a variety of unique characteristics. One of the unique characteristics of a tree is the dominant form of tree architecture formed by its canopy. This research was carried out at the Sylva Arboretum in Tanjungpura Pontianak for 3 weeks starting from July 4 2018 to July 24 2018 to observe and identify the architectural model of the lauraceae family tree. The research objective was to determine the architectural model of the Lauraceae family tree in Sylva Arboretum in Tanjungpura University Pontianak. The research method used is the exploration method, which is done by roaming, which means that observations can be made with visual and physical contact. Based on the results of the research and discussion, lauraceae family tree architecture models found in the Arboretum Sylva Area of Tanjungpura University Pontianak as many as four architectural models namely Rauh, Roux, Petit and Scarrone. The four architectural models were found in six species of trees, namely Ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri), Medang sahung (Achiodaphne glabra), Medang pasir (Litsea eliptica), Medang bubur (Litsea resinosa), Medang sisik (Dehaasia firma), and Kayu manis (Cinnamomum iners).Keyword: Family of Lauraceae, Model of Tree Architecture, Sylva Arboretum

Abstract

Kapuas Hulu Regency is lowland area of tropical rain forest which has many Dipterocarpaceae, one of  which is tengkawang ( Shorea spp). Forests in Kapuas Hulu are currently under threat because of the widespread exploitation of land  on a large scale without considering the balance of the ecosystem. Tembawang forest in Labian village has the potential of tengkawang trees which have not been known  to be distributed based on topography where is grows. The aim of this study is to obtian the distribution of tengkawang (Shorea spp) species based on topography in the tembawang forest in the Labian district of Kapuas hulu, Kalimantan. This research was conducted using a survey method with samples taken in census in six tembawang. The research results show that there are 4 species of tengkawang (Shorea spp). The disribution of tengkawang spesies based on the from of thopography of Shorea marcophylla Aston and Shorea seminis Slooten grew on the topografhy of the valley with a height of 0 - 87 meter above sea level and slope of 9% - 23 % in all tembawang spread in group closed to waterside and scattered clustered at the Shorea  pinanga Scheff  and Shorea stenoptera Bruck spread on slope in groups with a height of 60-70 meter above sea level. Abstract

In the wood is complex structure creates an environment that is, allowing the diversity and plants to live within. One of the diversity that can grow in the woods Indonesia is rattan. Wicker including the typical tropical belonging to the family palmae (Dransfield and Manokaran 1996 in Jumiati et al, 2012). In the woods customary Sepora there have been a number of rattan. It can be seen from surrounding the use of these plants as the rattan, wicker rattan, mat, wicker vegetables, basket, the material and forth. The types of rattan is in an area of forest customary Sepora had not yet been attention so that infomation about the types of rattan not yet avaible. The purpose of this study is to find the diversity of spesies in the industry, wicker especially a kind of which is generally usedby the community and rattan supplies as feedstocks. Of the field observation finding of rattan derived of the genus, calamus, korthalsia and daemonorops. Of the six flavors of the raw materials only one kind of rattan a solitary namely of the genus calamus. Based on analysis obtained diversity field index to spesies (Hʹ) ranges from 0,0642-0,1530, or less than one which means that the diversity of the species in this area relatively low. While the dominant index value (C) of 0,0024-0,0708, or less than one showing that the absence of distinction from one species with other species within to community, to achieve that in a community has an equal chance of good growing.
