Abstract

The development of learning activities in schools is quite important, considering the demands of the 4.0 industrial revolution, which compels students to be more creative in their learning. However, sometimes technology can also be applied in education using simple materials. A Community Service (PkM) activity was conducted at SMA Yadika 8 Bekasi, West Java. The activity took place on May 27, 2024, from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB. The participants in this PkM program were students from SMA Yadika 8 Bekasi, totaling 120 students, consisting of 88 students from grade X and 32 students from grade XI. The PkM at SMA Yadika 8 Bekasi was divided into two teams: the Electric Motor Teaching Aids Team and the Simple Solar Power Plant Teaching Aids Team. The students were very enthusiastic about the demonstrations and took turns observing the teaching aids being showcased. Additionally, they asked questions about how the teaching aids were made and how they functioned. Based on the satisfaction analysis from 17 statements provided, the results indicate that students' satisfaction with the PkM implementation falls into the good category. Participants' responses were categorized into four areas: response to teaching aids, response to training materials, response to training instructors, and the training process. All four areas received good ratings, indicating that the partners were satisfied with the activities conducted by the PkM Team.

Abstract

In the era of technological development, changes in the world of work are happening very quickly. Many jobs that were previously conventional are now replaced by technology or automation. This encourages community service activities to analyze students' interest in entrepreneurship and provide the education and skills needed so that they can make the most of digital media. By teaching entrepreneurship from an early age, it is hoped that participants can be better prepared to adapt and create their own job opportunities, not just relying on conventional jobs. This activity was attended by 52 participants from SMA Negeri 1 Jonggol and was held in the form of socialization involving entrepreneurial experts from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMSU). The method used was lecture and discussion, with three stages, namely: preparation, material delivery, and discussion. The results of the socialization showed that more than 60% of participants experienced an increased understanding of the importance of digital literacy, the ability to utilize digital media, and how to use the media. In addition, more than 45% of participants showed interest in entrepreneurship. Overall, this activity was successful and had a positive impact on the participants.

Abstract

Indonesian students' science literacy level, especially in understanding solar energy as a renewable resource, still needs to be higher. This deficiency can be caused by various factors, including the need for more utilization of educational materials that aim to improve students' science literacy. The main objective of this study was to enhance students' solar energy literacy skills by applying solar power plant learning materials. Purposive sampling was used to select participants from two groups of students: Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and Faculty of Engineering (FT) who have completed physics of motion or introductory physics courses. FETT respondents numbered 33 people, consisting of 13 people from the Physics Education Study Program, 6 from the Chemistry Education Study Program, and 14 from the Biology Education Study Program. At the same time, The FT respondents were 23 students, consisting of 9 people from the Electrical Engineering Study Program and 14 from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program. Thus, the total number of respondents who met the criteria of this study amounted to 56 students. The assessment of solar energy literacy includes multiple-choice tests for cognitive aspects and questionnaires for affective and behavioral factors, which are managed through Google Forms. The provision of solar power plant learning modules increases knowledge, with the percentage of correct answers increasing in FKIP and FT students from pre-test to post-test. In conclusion, applying solar power plant learning materials can improve students' solar energy literacy skills.

Abstract

Solar power plants continues to experience good development and even PLTS can be used to overcome environmental problems, so this research aims to utilize renewable energy as a driving force for waste processing machines by designing organic waste chopping and grinding equipment. The specified motor power is 2 HP or 1.5 kW with 275 rpm, so the number of panels required is 12 pieces which are converted into AC from DC by the inverter. Based on power and rotation, the torque calculation results obtained are 2760 kg cm, the shaft diameter is 18.86 mm, the belt type is type A with a top belt width of 12.5 mm and a thickness of 8 mm, and transverse pegs with a width of 8 mm, a thickness of 7 mm. and 40 mm long based on ISO 2292 (according to pulley hub thickness). Based on the calculations and transmission design, a waste processing tool was built and then tested. From the tests, it was found that the power produced by PLTS was 1.5583 kW at 2239 Lux light to chop up 2 kg of organic waste.

Abstract

The growth of a porous anodic aluminum oxide (PAAO) layer with fewer cracks on a tubular substrate is quite challenging. The PAAO layer on a curved surface grows slower than that on a flat surface and is susceptible to cracking. This study aims to improve the crack resistance of the PAAO layer grown on a tubular aluminum substrate by adding ethylene glycol (EG). Each bath contained additive concentrations of 0, 5, 10, and 15 vol% EG. Anodization proceeded for 4 h at a temperature of 10 ℃ using the potentiostatic mode at 25 V in a sulfuric acid bath and 40 V in an oxalic acid bath. The crack and pore structure were investigated using a field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The kinetic curve and FE-SEM investigation indicated that the addition of EG in the bath slowed the growth rate of the PAAO layer in both anodization baths. The lower oxidation rate drastically improved the crack resistance, as revealed by the significant reduction in the crack population and narrower crack width. The additive EG presumably enhanced the electrolyte viscosity and reduced the heating effect released during oxide growth. Consequently, the layer thickness and pore size decreased with the increase in the EG concentration.
