Abstract

Abstract This research present about a steering control system on a vehicle whicgh is called Electrical Power Steering (EPS) that aims to observe and compare the position of EPS system with and without using PID controller. The EPS system has a state space order by 6x6 with one of the motor outputs to be controlled by a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller and uses the MATLAB application as a simulation of the EPS system. The simulation is carried out in two stages, namely the simulation of an EPS system without controlling and simulating an EPS system using a PID controller. The results show ,that the position controller on EPS with the PID control method reaches the desired position with the parameter value Kp = 500, Ki = 500 and Kd = 200 while the input step is 1. The system output response has an overshoot value closes to 0, a rise time of 0.005 seconds. More over, EPS system which unutilized controllers, the output responseis can not reached the reference value. Keywords—Electric Power Steering (EPS), Proportional-Integral-Derivatif (PID), Simulation.

Abstract

A cost expenditure of software defined radio software has limiting the development of cognitive radio in third countries. Moreover, a complexity of signal processing library in a SDR platform has contributed to the hard implementation in real applications. In this works, the development of SDR platform with low cost expenditure is proposed. Arduino UNO and X Bee uses for the OFDM based spectrum exchange information. In a case of spectrum sensing scenario, the objective of the local spectrum sensing is to detect the PU’s signal detection. The performance of SN ability to sense the PU’s signal is crucial. It was shown that from the previous works as the detected power is quantized into information bit is simulated.  In  order  to  implemented  the  spectrum exchange  information during  sensing,  Arduino  UNO  and  X  Bee  is implemented to sense the presence of PU activity channels of wifi terminals based on the energy of the signals. The detected power (RSSI) of wifi terminals is exchanged into an OFDM subcarrier tone signal such as orthogonal sub-channel that being equally divided from the licensed band.   The results shows that using proposed software defined radio (SDR) based on Arduino and X Bee, the cognitive radio spectrum sensing is applied. The received power from the PU’s channels such as wifi networks can be detected as well. The system could received and exchanged into OFDM-based subcarrier information bits.

Abstract

In Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), several wavelengths run on an optical fiber link that connects two optical switches. The multiple wavelengths are exploited that minimized the contention problem in the Optical Burst Switching (OBS) core node. Mathematical model is used in order to investigate the impact of the wavelengths numbers OBS core node. Two performance metrics are proposed such as the steady-state throughput and the probability of burst loss using steady- state occupancy probabilities and Poisson traffic model arrivals. Numerical results show that at different values of network traffic and some design parameters such as wavelength conversion capability and the mean arrival rate could reveal the OBS performance.

Abstract

Most of installation on wireless LAN on the building is not considering location and geographic space are which probable co-channel interference among near-far wi-fi stations. The use of the same channel which causes of receiver stations experiences of error transmission and delay among data transmission. To analyze this drawbacks, cognitive radio (CR) is adopted which able to monitoring co-channel interference on wi-fi stations. Node MCU Arduino is used to proposed cognitive radio terminal which able to analyzed and monitoring co-channel interference among wi-fi stations known as co-channel monitoring cognitive radio (CCMCR). One of the CR task is ability to sensing the whole spectrum channel that operated in certainty frequency. Node MCU is sensed the energy power of the wi-fi stations and converted by analog-to-digital converter which detected power level of the received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The proposed model is examined by indoor experiments which obtained 63.8% co-channel average and adjacent-channel is 36.1%. Thus the proposed CCMCR node station is able to monitor co-channel interference and adjacent-channel as well. Therefore, the results could be used as the basic analysis for the development and installation of wi-fi stations in the building.

Abstract

The development of the shipping industry in Indonesia has continued to increase over the past 10 years due to the sabotage principle. This development can be seen from the increasing number of national vessels. The number of national vessels becomes wider from 6,041 units in 2005 to 24,046 units in 2016. The number of vessels makes monitoring the operational performance of the vessel difficult because each ship has different travel routes. This research made tools that can monitor the performance of ships especially the use of MFO aboard the ship. The sensors used to measure the volume of MFO in the tank on board are HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors and potentiometer pendulum sensors. The data from the sensor was processed by Arduino Uno microcontroller. This study would compare the performance of ultrasonic sensors and potentiometer pendulum sensors mounted on MFO oil premises. The study was conducted by measuring the position of the ship horizontally, right and left tilted with a slope level of 30 degrees and 45 degrees. The result of this research is that the potentiometer pendulum sensor was better when MFO surface condition was flat with the average of error sensor 1.60%, while HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor has an average of error for 2.87%. However, on the skewed surface conditions of MFO, the usage of HC - SR04 ultrasonic sensors was better with average of error for 3.21%, while the potentiometer pendulum sensor had an average of error for 8.66%.

Abstract

Mobile environment especially spatial diversity in spectrum exchange information in cognitive radio networks is an interesting topic for further investigation. Most of the cognitive radio researchers does not consider the spatial diversity of sensing nodes. However, the mobility of the SNs within PU’s coverage area is heavily influencing the detection performance on local observation of energy signals. The movement of the SNs creates spatial diversity in the observation of the PU’s signal. Due to the movement, spatial distance, velocity, Doppler Effect and geo-location information, the signals condition would fluctuate during the sensing process. Spatial diversity also reduces the average received signal strength and must be compensated by detection signal method which appropriate with the signal conditions.  Therefore, it is need to find a comprehensive solution to overcome the effects of spatial diversity. Moreover, this research could give a clearly analysis in spectrum exchange information regarding detection performance for cognitive radio networks. Finally, the cooperation overhead due to spatial diversity effects in master node station could reduce and increased the detection performance of PU’s spectrum hole channels.
