Abstract

The study investigated the relationship between the UV Index and measurements of ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation to evaluate the effectiveness of the UV Index in predicting and understanding UV radiation at the surface. The implications of this study are significant for public health policies and UV protection strategies. This study used a variety of statistical analyses and modelling techniques, including ANOVA, Naive Bayes classification, decision trees, artificial neural networks, support vector machines (SVM), and k-means clustering, to examine relationships and predict UV Index values. ANOVA analysis showed a significant relationship between the UV Index and UVA and UVB measurements. Prediction models such as Naive Bayes classification, decision trees, and artificial neural networks showed variability in their accuracy. Notably, SVM showed a high degree of accuracy in predicting UV Index values, while k-means clustering effectively clustered the data based on similarities in UV Index and UV measurements. These findings confirm that the UV Index is a reliable indicator for predicting and understanding UV radiation levels at the Earth's surface. This research underscores the importance of developing more accurate and precise UV Index prediction models. Further investigation is essential to understand the temporal variations and environmental impacts on the UV Index, as well as the broader implications of UV exposure on public health. This study lays a strong foundation for the development of early warning systems and more effective UV protection strategies, ultimately improving public health outcomes and safety measures against UV radiation.

Abstract

The problem of forest and peatland fires in Riau has become main topic to prioritize its revamping. Land and forest fires in Riau until reached 3,700 hectares area, happened in some last years,.Forest and peatland fires occured in the majority of districts in Riau Province, from low category of 4 hectares until 2,800 hectares. This researchdiscusses aboutanalysis of controlling wirelessTemperature Sensor for monitoring Peat-Land fire by using LM35 Temperature Sensor, Transmitter-Module (HC-12), Receiver-Module (HC-12), Arduino-ProMini to produce outputs on LED, LCD, Buzzer. Detector of Peat-Land fire works when it is burning, so heat will spread through aluminium stalk and be read by Temperature-Sensor1 upto Temperature-Sensor4. Output of each sensor is sent to each control block of Arduino-ProMini in Transmitter-Module(FU1–FU4). From Arduino-ProMini, it is sent toReceiver-Module(FU5). Receiver-Module only receives one data from Transmitter-Module in one time. Every data is received by Receiver-Module goes to Arduino-ProMini, processed to produce outputs on LCD that shows ID of FU1–FU4, Peat-Land Status, temperature of Peat Land. If LED is Green, Peat-Land not burned, LED shows SAFE Condition, Buzzer Off. If LED is Yellow, Peat-Land burned underground, LED shows BE-CAREFUL Condition, Buzzer On. If LED is Red, Peat-Land burned on the ground, LED shows DANGER Condition, Buzzer On. Temperature 0°C–21.9°Cis SAFE Category because Peat-Land not burned. Temperature 22°C–28.4°Cis BE-CAREFUL Category because Peat-Land burned underground. Temperature 28.4°C–50°Cis DANGER Category because Peat-Land burned on the ground. Abstract

Load shedding is a protection scheme to maintain the stability of the electric power system. When there is an imbalance between the power generated and the load power, load shedding will release the load to restore power balance. This research aims to design and analyze the load shedding system at Private Company to see whether it is running well and meets the PRC-006-5 standard regarding the frequency operating limit, which must be in the range of 49.42 Hz to 50.58 Hz. The method that will be used in this research is to carry out testing with software and then analyze the power and frequency response due to the generator being removed from the system. The testing mechanism that will be carried out is to simulate the effect of a lack of power for the load supply on the load shedding system. From the research results, it is known that the existing load shedding scheme needs to be evaluated. Evaluation is carried out on steps 1 and 2, so that the load shedding limit for step 1 becomes 49.5 Hz and the pickup time for step 4 becomes 400 ms.

Abstract

Renewable energy has an important role today, one of which is hydroelectric power plants which use water as the main resource. The operation of a hydroelectric power plant generally aims to maximize the water discharge available in the reservoir in order to obtain maximum energy generation. The main driver of hydropower development is the hydraulic turbines. It's a mechanical device that turns the potential energy of water into electrical energy. So researchers are interested in conducting research with the title analysis of the effectiveness of electrical energy based on reservoir conditions. The method used in this research is daily data collection in the form of reservoir elevation level data, outflow, and data on the electrical power generated by the generator. After that, calculate the water volume, hydraulic power, turbine mechanical power along with turbine efficiency, and the efficiency of the generator. Then analyze the values of hydraulic power, turbine mechanical power, electrical power based on water discharge over time. As well as analyzing the efficiency of the generator based on the electrical power that can be generated over a period of one year. Based on research, it is known that an increase in powerplant efficiency occurs after draining the reservoir with a value range of 70% - 72%, because mud deposits accumulate in the reservoir resulting in the reservoir water volume capacity not being optimal.

Abstract

Peeling coconut fiber generally still uses traditional equipment and some also use machines. After peeling coconuts, farmers always re-count the coconuts that have been peeled, where farmers often miscalculate the results of coconuts that have been peeled. From this problem, a tool is needed to count coconuts that have been peeled. This tool aims to help peel and count the number of coconuts that have been peeled. This tool will use an infrared sensor as a detector to count coconuts that have been peeled by a coconut fiber peeling machine. In the tool system, an Arduino Uno ATMega328 microcontroller is used to control the counter system and the research results will be displayed on a 16x2 LCD in the form of the number and maximum limit of coconuts that can be detected. The tool is designed to use a 7.4 V battery as the energy source for the tool and a buzzer as an indicator that the coconut passing through the sensor is detected. Farmers can set the limit of coconuts that will be counted by pressing the number on the keypad as desired. In the designed tool, the maximum number of coconuts that can be counted is 3000 coconut.
