Abstract

BIPA learning is growing rapidly, with many foreign speakers who have an interest in learning Indonesian. Innovation in BIPA learning is needed, and one of the innovations is utilising digital media in the form of applications and web that provide interesting features and can be utilised in learning. The Quizlet application is one of the digital media that can be used for learning because it has various features. This research aims to describe the use of Quizlet in BIPA learning. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. In this study, researchers used similar studies or studies that have a relationship with the use of Quizlet applications as BIPA learning media. The results of this study indicate that Quizlet has features that can be used as a BIPA learning medium for language skills. The features that can be used as a medium of learning include flashcards, learn, spell, write, test, and match. This study also shows that the Quizlet application can be used to support learners’ mastery of new vocabulary and terms.

Abstract

Kebudayaan merupakan kumpulan cara berpikir, perasaan, dan respons yang diwariskan dan disampaikan melalui simbol-simbol, serta mencerminkan karakteristik unik dari suatu masyarakat. Manifestasi kebudayaan terlihat dalam benda-benda kultural yang mengandung nilai-nilai dan ide-ide yang diwariskan secara historis. Budaya sangat erat hubungannya dengan sistem bahasa. Dalam konteks program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) yang memiliki peserta dari berbagai negara, penting untuk mencapai keseimbangan antara pengajaran bahasa dan pengenalan budaya Indonesia. Memahami budaya Indonesia akan memberikan kenyamanan kepada peserta BIPA dalam proses belajar, serta mencegah mereka mengalami gegar budaya ketika berada di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan perbedaan dalam keseharian pemelajar asal Taiwan dan Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-kualitatif, dengan pengambilan data menggunakan metode wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya hidup pelajar Taiwan dan Indonesia sangat berbeda, terutama dalam budaya makan, minum, berinteraksi, dan berpakaian. Oleh karena itu, dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA), memahami perbedaan tersebut menjadi sangat penting guna membangun toleransi dalam hubungan lintas budaya.

Abstract

Writing skill is the most difficult language skill to be mastered by BIPA learners. One of the efforts to reduce these difficulties is by choosing effective and interesting learning media. This research was written to describe the use of audio-visual media in learning to write BIPA learners. The research method chosen is descriptive-qualitative and uses the type of library research to find data about the use of audio-visual media. Based on the data obtained, audio-visual media is considered effective to use in writing skills because this media is not only in the form of writing or sound but also equipped with images that can provide a real picture of the material being studied by BIPA learners. Broadly speaking, the steps of applying audio-visual learning media are divided into three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the problems faced by BIPA students in learning culture in elective classes. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive research type. The results of this research show several things that become obstacles for foreign students in learning other cultures, namely the difficulty level of teaching materials, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and cultural differences.

Abstract

Indonesian has become the official language of the UN. Many BIPA students want to learn Indonesian online. However, online learning creates obstacles such as time differences between teachers and BIPA students, internet connections, and providing less than optimal feedback. This research aims to develop m-learning with automatic feedback for BIPA level 2 learners. This research uses a 4D development model: define, design, develop and deploy. This study's instrument is  a questionnaire distributed to 2 validators and 18 BIPA learners. The results of this study are m-learning products that minimize internet connections; once installed, students only need to be connected to the internet when working on questions. In addition, m-learning is also equipped with automatic feedback that appears immediately after students answer questions. The results of the product trial show that students can use m-learning to learn anytime and anywhere, including in areas with minimal internet access. Automatic feedback in m-learning also helps students learn independently because they do not need to wait for feedback from teachers. The automatic feedback in M-learning is only for listening and reading questions while speaking and writing questions are still in the form of answer keywords or assessment rubrics that the teacher must correct. Based on expert validation and product trials with an average score of 88.8, we conclude that the development of m-learning is suitable for BIPA level 2 students.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia merupakan alat komunikasi yang digunakan untuk bertukar ide, pendapat, dan gagasan antarindividu. Seiring perkembangan zaman, bahasa Indonesia mengalami akulturasi dengan bahasa gaul atau slang. Penyisipan bahasa gaul dalam komunikasi berbahasa Indonesia dapat menciptakan keakraban dalam batas kesopanan. Variasi bahasa ini muncul akibat interaksi dalam ruang lingkup yang luas serta dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan sosial, budaya, dan tradisi. Fenomena ini dapat ditemukan di media sosial seperti YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, dan X. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan bahasa gaul dalam konten YouTube MiawAug berjudul Masuk Ke Rumah Kosong Angker - Jisatsu Chilla’s Art Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data dari video tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa kata serapan dari bahasa gaul, seperti gue, emang, ntar, kek mana, meningsoy, lu, kelar, doang, mantap, buset cuy, dan nyebelin. Penggunaan bahasa gaul dalam konten ini berfungsi untuk menarik perhatian penonton dan menciptakan kedekatan dengan audiens.

Abstract

Abstrak. Analisis kesalahan berbahasa pada penutur asing sangat penting untuk dilakukan karena dengan mengetahui kesalahan berbahasa bisa memahami proses pemerolehan bahasa kedua dan membantu memperbaiki kesalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kesalahan penutur asing dari benua Eropa berdasarkan linguistik, yaitu fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, dan semantik. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini    melalui 4 tahap yaitu:  (1) menentukan sampel, (2) mengidentifikasi kesalahan, (3) mendeskripsikan kesalahan, dan (4) menjelaskan kesalahan  (Ellis, 1994)  Sumber data yang digunakan adalah video unggahan para penutur asing dari benua Eropa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya bervariasi kesalahan berbahasa penutur asing benua Eropa. Pada tataran fonologi, yaitu penambahan, penggantian, pengurangan serta penghilangan fonem di awal, tengah, dan akhir kata. Pada tataran morfologi, yaitu ketidaktepatan penggunaan prefiks, penghilangan prefiks, penghilangan konfiks, dan penghilangan kombinasi afiks. Pada tataran sintaksis, yaitu kesalahan penyusunan frasa, kalimat tidak berpredikat, penghilangan konjungsi, dan penjamakan ganda. Pada tataran semantik, yaitu pemilihan diksi yang kurang tepat. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan kesalahan berbahasa terbanyak yang dilakukan oleh penutur dari benua Eropa adalah kesalahan pada tataran fonologi. Kata kunci: kesalahan berbahasa, Bahasa Indonesia, Youtuber Eropa

Abstract

Culture shock is a crucial problem for foreign students, especially foreign speakers coming to Indonesia to learn Indonesian. Culture shock has a negative impact on a person's psychology and health. Culture shock cannot be avoided, but its impact can be reduced by understanding the culture of the target area. This research aims to describe the culture shock experienced by foreign speakers. The method in this research is qualitative descriptive. The data source for this research was 33 respondents from 16 countries who had experienced culture shock. The data analysis stage in this research was carried out in 3 stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion or verification. This research shows that there are cultural shocks, including ways of interacting with other people, food, discipline, cleanliness, Profession, transportation, and language. The culture shock experienced by foreign speakers varies depending on their region of origin. The main cause of culture shock is the differences in geographic location and the beliefs held by these communities.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia semakin diminati oleh penutur asing. Apalagi saat ini bahasa Indonesia sudah menjadi bahasa resmi UNESCO.  Banyak penutur asing yang ingin belajar bahasa Indonesia. Salah satunya mahasiswa Jilin International Studies University, mereka ingin belajar bahasa Indonesia tetapi karena berbagai hal mereka tidak bisa datang ke Indonesia. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut maka dilakukan kerjasama antara Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) dan Jilin International Studies University (JISU). Kerjasama tersbut dianataran mengirimkan mahasiswa UM yang di dampingi oleh dosen untuk mengenalkan bahasa Indonesia pada mahasiswa Tiongkok. Fokus pengabdian ini melatih kemampuan menyimak dan berbicara. Metode yang digunakan yaitu role-playing dan audiolingual. Pelatihan keterampilan menyimak dan berbicara bahasa Indonesia pada mahasiswa Jillin secara umu berhasil dan memuaskan.  Pelatihan tersebut tidak hanya berhasil dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia mahasiswa JISU tetapi juga memperkuat hubungan budaya antara Indonesia dan Tiongkok melalui pendekatan pendidikan yang kreatif dan integratif.

Abstract

Technology had a great influence on the dissemination of information. Such a Indonesian spread in the international arena has a major impact on the development of the language. The result of language development is an increase in vocabulary until the emergence variety of language. Variations of language helped the communication of speakers, so that they can be used according to the situation and conditions needed, including BIPA learners. But sometimes with the emergence of various languages, BIPA students have little difficulty distinguishing of using language according to their situation and conditions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the speech acts of BIPA learners with the analysis of D. Heymes' SPEAKING theory. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a content analysis approach. In the results of the analysis, the author will describe the results of communication created by BIPA students using the SPEAKING method by focusing on the variety of languages contained in linguistic aspects. BIPA students also tend to use a variety of official or formal languages in every conversation in formal classes. However, BIPA students also use an unofficial language when talking to colleagues interspersed with English or their mother tongue.
