Abstract

Kegiatan program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujan untuk menerapkan teknologi tepat guna berupa mesin renteng otomatis yang berfungsi sebagai pengemasan minuman herbal instan yang diproduksi oleh kelompok UMKM Syarimpon. Diharapkan dengan adanya alat ini dapat membantu meningkatkan mutu kemasan, kualitas produk, dan efisiensi produksi pada produk minuman herbal instan dari UMKM Syarimpon yang berstandar food-grade. Produksi minuman herbal pada UMKM “Syarimpon” ini harus memenuhi permintaan  pasar dengan permintaan dalam satu bulan dapat mencapai 20.000 bungkus dengan total berat 100 kg. Akan tetapi dalam produksi untuk 100 bungkus  membutuhkan waktu 2 – 3 hari proses pengemasan dikarenakan proses pengemasan masih dilakukan secara manual, sehingga banyak permintaan pasar yang tertunda.Berdasarkan identifikasi permasalahan dan kendala yang dialami oleh UMKM Syarimpon, maka dapat diselesaikan dengan menerapkan mesin renteng otomatis sehingga diperoleh kalitas perekat kemasan yang baik dan efisien. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dimulai dengan pembukaan yang dihadiri oleh ketua tim pengabdian kepda masyarakat dan perwakilan dari UMKM Syarimpon, Penyerahan dan pendampingan alat, demo alat untuk mengetahui apakah mesin sudah berjalan dengan tepat dan berfungsi dengan baik sesuai yang diharapkan, dan dilanjutkan dengan sesi foto bersama. Diharapkan mesin tersebut dapat menjadi solusi terhadap permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra Kelompok UMKM Syarimpon.Kata kunci—minuman herbal instan, UMKM Syarimpon, Mesin Renteng Otomatis

Abstract

Cultivation of tiger prawns stands as a crucial sector in Indonesia's fisheries industry, significantly contributing to the country's foreign exchange. However, challenges persist in the cultivation process, particularly concerning suboptimal harvest outcomes. A critical factor in tiger prawn cultivation is the water temperature within shrimp ponds, a parameter directly influencing shrimp growth. The recommended normal temperature range is 28-31°C. Deviations from this range can adversely impact the shrimp's metabolic system and appetite, resulting in stress and potential mortality. Temperature fluctuations can lead to severe issues such as hindered growth, reduced productivity, and increased shrimp mortality. Real-time monitoring of air temperature emerges as a pivotal element in ensuring the success of shrimp farming. This research aims to provide a practical solution for shrimp cultivation by presenting a system that enables farmers to adjust air temperature in ponds in real-time through a user-friendly website application. The ability to promptly respond to abnormal temperature fluctuations empowers farmers to optimize cultivation conditions, thereby reducing shrimp mortality rates. The research focuses on creating a water temperature monitoring system for tiger prawn ponds using cloud storage through the Firebase platform. By implementing real-time temperature monitoring, financial risks for shrimp farmers can be mitigated, preventing losses attributed to temperature-induced shrimp mortality. The research utilizes the DS18B20 temperature sensor and WeMos D1 R2 as the control center. The website displays air temperature measurements, showcasing a high accuracy of 99% with a minimal error of 1.2%. This underscores the system's effectiveness in measuring air temperature both above and below the pond. The incorporation of IoT technology for monitoring water quality in ponds offers a practical and innovative approach to tiger prawn cultivation, with the potential to enhance production outcomes in each harvest.

Abstract

In the burgeoning domain of electric vehicle (EV) technology, the advancement of supportive ecosystems plays a pivotal role. There is a marked global uptrend in the adoption of EVs, necessitating a robust network of EV charging stations. Integral to these stations is the infrastructure and the accompanying systems that govern their operation. With increased utilization, the exigency for expeditious service at these charging points escalates. This study undertakes a comparative analysis of three distinct data communication protocols at the application layer, specifically within the context of EV charging stations. The protocols scrutinized include Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), and Websocket. The benchmark for data transmission in this investigation is the delivery of energy information, adhering to the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), a legally standardized open protocol. The data format employed is JavaScript Object Notation (JSON). Data transmission utilizing the three aforementioned protocols was intercepted and analyzed using Wireshark, a network protocol analyzer. Parameters such as latency (delay), jitter (variability of latency), and throughput (successful data delivery over a communication channel) were meticulously examined and subsequently represented graphically to enhance the interpretability of the network protocol performance. The findings reveal distinct transmission characteristics for each protocol, despite identical data payloads. HTTP exhibited the superior throughput, peaking at 31,621 bits per second (bps) during real-time data transmission. Conversely, MQTT demonstrated the most favorable latency and jitter metrics, both for real-time and periodic data dispatches. Websocket, however, registered the lowest throughput in real-time transmission, at 4,941 bps. These divergences underscore the importance of protocol selection based on specific performance criteria within EV charging station ecosystems.

Abstract

Agricultural technology is one of the focus areas to be targeted in the next few years. The real way to achieve this goal is the transfer of aquaphonic technology. Karangduren is an area in Pakisaji District, Malang Regency which has limited land and is used as non-productive land. As non-productive land, it is then converted into aquaphonic agricultural land. Efforts to raise the spirit of the younger generation towards limited agricultural land, carried out community service in the form of implementing TTG on smart aquaphonic farming systems by utilizing IoT technology for regulating and monitoring nutrients, pH, and oxygen content. The method used is the direct implementation method with the community. Community service activities can increase public enthusiasm and awareness regarding the use of sub-optimal land into agricultural land in the form of aquaponics. The application of appropriate technology in the form of solar panels can be used as a source of power to turn on the water pump so as to save energy and costs.

Abstract

The global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been profound, affecting economies and societal structures worldwide. Indonesia, with a high caseload, has encountered significant challenges across various sectors. Virus transmission primarily occurs through physical contact, and the surge in active cases has strained hospital capacities, leading to the hospitalization of only severe cases. The remaining patients receive home telecare, but some experience sudden health deterioration with fatal consequences. To address this issue, this study proposes a remote outpatient care system utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology and medical electronics. This integrated system aims to provide an effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The research includes a comparative analysis of three machine-learning algorithms: decision tree, gradient tree boosting, and random forest for the classification of COVID-19 patients. The results reveal that the random forest algorithm outperforms the others with an accuracy rate of 70%, as compared to 67% for the decision tree and 62% for the gradient tree boosting algorithm. This integrated system not only addresses immediate healthcare delivery challenges but also offers data-driven insights for patient classification, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and reach of medical interventions

Abstract

The image datasets that are most widely used for training deep learning models are specifically developed for applications. This study introduces a novel dataset aimed at augmenting the existing data for the identification of figs in their natural habitats, specifically in the wilderness. In the present study, researchers have generated numerous image datasets specifically for object detection focus on applications in agriculture. Regrettably, it is exceedingly difficult for us to obtain a specialized dataset specifically designed for detecting figs. To tackle this issue, a grand total of 462 photographs of fig fruits were gathered. The augmentation technique was utilized to substantially increase the size of the dataset. Ultimately, we conduct an examination of the dataset by doing a baseline performance study for bounding-box detection using established object detection methods, specifically you only look once (YOLO) version 3 and YOLOv4. The performance obtained on the test photos of our dataset is satisfactory. For farmers, the capacity to identify and oversee fig fruits in their natural or developed environments can be highly advantageous. The detecting device offers instantaneous data regarding the quantity of mature figs, facilitating decision-making procedures.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor berkurangnya gizi pada susu adalah kesalahan dalam proses pengolahannya, produk susu biasanya akan melalui proses pasteurisasi guna membunuh bakteri didalamnya dan menambah waktu simpan susu. Namun proses pasteurisasi yang salah justru akan mengakibatkan berkurangnya gizi yang terkandung didalam susu dan tak jarang akan membuat susu justru menjadi rusak. Sistem kontrol tungku api otomatis dirancang untuk menangani masalah yang ada dimana dengan menggunakan mekanikal servo, sistem akan secara otomatis mengatur bukaan katup tungku api untuk menjaga suhu pada set-point yang diinginkan, sehingga suhu akan terjaga dan protein pada susu tidak rusak karena suhu pada proses pemasakan yang terlalu tinggi.  Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, bahwa sistem tanpa fuzzy membutuhkan waktu selama 1 jam untuk dapat mencapai set-point, sedangkan sistem dengan fuzzy hanya membutuhkan waktu 30 menit saja untuk mencapai set-point.

Abstract

In the context of rapidly advancing smart education systems, the effective management and optimization of modern classroom remain critical challenges. This research presents a novel methodology leveraging cloud and fog computing-based simulations, with a specific focus on the implementation of iFogSim. Empirical findings validate the efficacy of fog computing in monitoring classrooms, demonstrating significant improvements in performance metrics compared to traditional cloud computing architectures. Specifically, fog computing ensures remarkably low latency, with a mere 7 milliseconds, even with scalable integration across multiple classrooms. In contrast, cloud computing infrastructures exhibit considerably higher initial latencies, starting at 210 milliseconds, which further escalate with the increasing number of monitored classrooms. Furthermore, our analysis reveals substantially lower network overhead associated with fog computing, measuring at 5,231.8 kilobytes, in sharp contrast to the significantly higher network usage of 80,808 kilobytes observed with cloud computing solutions. These findings underscore the potential of fog computing as a promising solution for efficient and real-time management classroom in smart education environments.

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are wireless networks with many sensor nodes covering a relatively large area. One of the weaknesses of WSN is the use of relatively high energy consumption, which affects the quality of network services. Although the WSN network routing using the DV-Hop algorithm is widely used because of its simplicity, improvements need to be made to improve energy efficiency so that the network lifetime is more optimal. This article proposes an enhanced DV-Hop algorithm compared to other algorithms to improve network energy efficiency and quality of service. There are three approaches to improving the DV-Hop algorithm. First, the selection of the CH node is based on the distance to the Base Station so that the selected CH node does not have a long distance from the base station. Second, the selection of CH nodes must have a number of neighbouring nodes above the average of other sensor nodes. Finally, each selected CH node calculates the minimum distance to the previously selected CH node to ensure that the selected CH nodes are not adjacent to each other. The proposed approach obtains better total data packets sent to the base station, energy efficiency, and network age using Matlab simulation software by comparing the enhanced DV-Hop algorithm with the original DV-Hop algorithm and three other routing algorithms.

Abstract

Abstract Our community service project was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Kalimasada, a boarding school in Jombang, East Java, that combines traditional Islamic education with a modern curriculum. Although the school is well-established, it faced a significant challenge: high electricity costs due to the manual operation of its water pumps. To address this issue, we proposed installing solar panels and an automated water tank filling system. After discussions with the school, we identified several key areas where we could provide assistance, including infrastructure improvements, practical applications of science, and educational materials. Our solution involved replacing the manual water pumps with solar-powered ones to reduce electricity consumption and providing training to students on solar panel technology. Once our proposal was approved, we moved forward with the project, which included designing, testing, and installing the system, as well as conducting training sessions. Evaluation and monitoring were also carried out for 1 month where the automatic reservoir filling system with solar power worked well as evidenced by the increase in savings from the cottage's electricity bill by 10-20% and the increasing curiosity of students about renewable technology delivered by the cottage leadership at the kalimasada Jombang boarding school. Keywords: Pondok Pesantren Kalimasada; Automatic Pump; Solar Energy; Training Abstrak Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di Pondok Pesantren Kalimasada, Jombang, Jawa Timur, sebuah lembaga pendidikan yang menggabungkan pendidikan formal dan pondok. Meskipun sudah memiliki legalitas dan pendidikan formal, pondok pesantren ini dihadapkan pada beberapa permasalahan, terutama tingginya biaya listrik akibat penggunaan pompa air manual. Solusi yang diusulkan adalah penerapan teknologi panel surya dan sistem pengisian tandon otomatis. Diskusi dengan pihak pondok pesantren mengidentifikasi permasalahan mitra, mencakup aspek sarana dan prasana, praktikum dan keilmuan, serta materi pembelajaran. Solusi ini melibatkan implementasi pompa tenaga surya untuk mengurangi biaya listrik dan pelatihan mengenai teknologi panel surya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman santri. Setelah solusi telah disepakati, dilakukan implementasi dari solusi dengan tahap perancangan, uji coba, pelatihan, serah terima dan publikasi. Kemudian juga dilakukan evaluasi dan monitoring selama 1 bulan dimana sistem pengisian tandon otomatis dengan tenaga surya bekerja dengan baik dibuktikan dengan peningkatan penghematan dari tagihan listrik pondok sebesar 10-20% dan bertambahnya rasa keingintahuan santri mengenai teknologi terbarukan yang disampaikan oleh pimpinan pondok di pondok pesantren kalimasada Jombang.
