Abstract

The rapid growth of fintech in Indonesia has transformed MSME financing, yet its linkage to broader financial system stability remains underexplored. This study investigates the implications of Indonesia's financial system stability for MSME financing through fintech platforms and the number of active fintech users. Utilizing the Error Correction Model (ECM) technique, we employ monthly time series data comprising 72 observations from January 2019 to December 2024, drawn from Bank Indonesia, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), and fintech industry reports. The empirical results indicate that financial system stability significantly and positively influences MSME financing via fintech in both the short and long run. Similarly, stability exerts a significant positive effect on the number of active fintech users over these periods. These findings highlight the symbiotic relationship between macroeconomic financial resilience and digital lending ecosystems, where a stable financial system fosters greater fintech adoption and MSME credit access. Impulse response functions and variance decompositions further confirm the directional causality from stability to fintech metrics. Policymakers should prioritize financial stability measures to bolster inclusive financing for MSMEs, which constitute over 99% of Indonesian businesses. This research contributes to the literature on fintech's role in emerging economies, advocating for regulatory frameworks that integrate stability with digital innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of economic growth, inflation, foreign direct investment (FDI), and unemployment on income inequality and to examine how income inequality influences educational attainment in Indonesia and Vietnam. These two countries were selected because they share similar characteristics as developing economies in Southeast Asia, including rapid economic growth, increasing inflows of foreign investment, and ongoing structural economic transformation. Despite these similarities, both countries continue to face challenges related to unequal income distribution and disparities in access to quality education. This study adopts a quantitative research approach using secondary panel data collected over a specified period. Panel data regression analysis is employed to estimate the relationships among the variables and to identify the most significant determinants of income inequality and educational attainment. The findings are expected to provide empirical evidence on the extent to which macroeconomic factors contribute to income inequality and how inequality affects educational outcomes. By offering a comparative analysis of Indonesia and Vietnam, this research enriches the existing literature and provides policy recommendations for fostering inclusive economic growth, reducing income disparities, attracting productive investment, and improving human capital development through more equitable access to education.

Abstract

The coastal area of Batu Itam Village possesses significant potential in natural resources and environmental services, along with a high level of biodiversity. This study aims to determine the direct economic benefits of capture fisheries within the mangrove ecosystem and assess the contribution of these direct economic values to household incomes in Batu Itam Village. The research employs a quantitative descriptive methodology and was conducted in June 2024. Respondents were selected using snowball sampling and census methods. The study involved two groups: 27 mangrove fishermen identified through a census approach and 20 general fishermen selected using the Slovin formula. Primary data were collected via respondent interviews, while secondary data were obtained through literature reviews. Mangrove area measurements were conducted spatially using Sentinel-2A satellite data. The findings reveal that the direct economic value of the mangrove ecosystem in Batu Itam Village amounts to IDR 1,376,670,000 per year, with an average of IDR 275,334,000 annually. This value is supported by the mangrove ecosystem's area of 205.13 hectares. Among the resources, fish provide the highest direct economic benefit compared to squid, crabs, shrimp, and shellfish. The contribution of income derived from the mangrove ecosystem constitutes 74% of the total household income for fishermen in Batu Itam Village
