This study aims to analyze the tafseer al-MishbÄh by M. Quraish Shihab on the verses relating to the process of the human creation that has relevance to the concept of prenatal education. The approach used in this research is tafsir maudhÅ«i, ie tracing the verses relating to the problem under study and then described the interpretation of the verses. The data that have been collected then analyzed by the method of content analysis which analyze the interpreters thoughts with theoretical categories so that found the main message and the context. The results of the study show that, God created the first human Adam and Eve then cultivate it into human offspring, by creating the womb. The stages of human development in the womb are ranging from nuthfah, alaqah, mudghah and ansyaa khalqan Äkhar. The stage of ansyaa khalqan Äkhar is the stage of the blowing of the spirit, the covenant of God with man, and God gives nature to man. Since that phase, children can get education. The effort to be done by parents in educating children in the prenatal period are running worship, reading and memorizing Al-Qur`a, dzikir, dialogue, follow the study of Islam (majlis ta`lim), behave well, and be consistent.

Abstract: This study aims to explore the concept of power in the perspective of Tafsîr al-Mishbâh and its relevance to the relationship between religion and state. The study uses a thematic approach of interpretation, particularly looking for verses that have relevance to the theme of the study, and analyzing them in accordance with the commentary of Tafsîr al-Mishbâh. The concept of power in the perspective of Tafsîr al-Mishbâh is then analyzed by a concept of sociology of power to find its relevance in the context of contemporary Indonesia. The findings showed that the concept of power in Tafsîr al-Mishbâh leads to dualism between rational business which could consist of the human ability and beyond rational business that can not be reached by reason logically. The concept of power of Tafsîr al-Mishbâh has relevance to the pragmatic pattern of the relationship between religion and state. The nation-state is considered in line with the guidance of religion as far as its leaders running the worship ritual in an orderly manner. Penelitian ini bertujuan membahas konsep kekuasaan perspektif tafsir al-Mishbâh dan bagaimana relevansinya kepada pola hubungan antara agama dengan negara. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan tafsir tematik, khususnya mencari ayat-ayat yang memiliki relevansi dengan tema penelitian, kemudian dianalisis tafsirnya sesuai tafsir al-Mishbâh. Konsep kekuasaan perspektif tafsir al-Mishbâh selanjutnya dianalisis berdasarkan peta konsep sosiologi kekuasaan untuk ditemukan relevansinya dengan konteks di Indonesia masa kini. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep tafsir al-Mishbâh mengenai kekuasaan mengarah pada adanya dualisme antara usaha rasional yang meliputi kemampuan yang bisa diusahakan oleh seseorang dan suprarasional yang tidak bisa dijangkau oleh akal logis. Konsep kekuasaan tersebut memiliki relevansi dengan pola hubungan kekuasaan antara agama dan negara yang pragmatis. Negara dianggap sejalan dengan tuntunan agama sejauh pemimpinnya menjalankan ibadah-ibadah ritual dengan tertib. Keywords: tafsîr al-Qur`an, kekuasaan, hubungan agama-negara.

It is a common agreement that Muslims in Indonesia accept nation state as a system which is not based solely on religion, but religion, at the same time, could be the main pillar and source of value in its principal. This paper is aimed at putting Indonesian Qur’anic exegesis into consideration, Hamka’s Tafsir al-Azhar and M. Quraish Shihab’s Tafsir al-Mishbah, related to the issue of state power and government. It attempts to delve into the values constructed by both exegetes on the Qur’anic verses related to the principles of the power and how those values are applied in the nation state formation. The results of the study suggests that some of Qur’anic values composed by both exegetes is: realization of nation state in a well-organized bureaucratic system, that is manifested in a good leadership, which is based on high competency selected based on democratic system selection (mushawarah). These values are able to be exemplified by both exegetes in nation-state frames with reference to cooperative and critical attitude towards the government.

The mosque is not only a place for congregation to pray five times a day. Mosques have social, educational and even economic functions. LP3M IAIN Ponorogo has developed mosque posdaya with the aim of empowering the community on the basis of a mosque. The principle of empowerment used is emancipatory, which is to organize the community by placing the community as the subject (subject) with the empowerment paradigm that rests on the community (community based development). The program called the mosque's Posdaya is centered at the Thoriqul Huda mosque, Dorokenong Hamlet, Tulung Village, Sampung Ponorogo District. The revitalization of the function of the Thoriqul Huda mosque is carried out by empowering the economy of congregations who are economically disadvantaged or called pre-prosperous communities. Economic empowerment activities are manifested through entrepreneurship training activities for plastic bag making and marketing. The activity is aimed at providing life skills for preprosperous families of mosque congregations. In the next stage, improving the life skills of congregations from underprivileged families must be supported by capital and network access. Mosques develop amil zakat institutions and mosque cooperatives by strengthening mosque religious management.

This study aims to reveal the relationship between cultural background of interpreter with the world of Alquran that is reflected in the interpretation of the story of Abraham and Moses. the research object are three interpretations Indonesia representing the first, second, and contemporary generation, namely The Interpretation of The Koran Karim works of Mahmud Yunus, Tafsir al-Azhar works of Hamka, and Tafsir al-Mishbāh works of M. Quraish Shihab. The methods to analyze the data used text analysis with explanatory analysis approach which describe the structure of the story in the books of tafsir studied and analyzed the correlation structure of the story to the cultural background of the interpreter. The results showed that all three books of commentary which analyzed had different patterns of cultural relations. Tafsir al-Azhar and the interpretation of the Koran Karim more often mentioned stories, religious system, and experiences pointing Indonesian background, while the al-Mishbāh interpretation is that at least mention the background of Indonesian cultural. In addition Tafsir al-Mishbāh also more just describe the common theme groups of verses by absurd and interesting contextuality at the Time of the Prophet, so that the story of Abraham and Moses are less contextual today.

This paper aims to analyze the results of published research from Indonesian researchers who have the theme of the thematic interpretation of the Qur’an (mawdūi) in the field of humanities. The question is how is the relationship of the Qur’an as a holy book as well as the source of Islamic sciences integrated and interconnected with the social sciences of the humanities. This research is a qualitative library research with a critical approach. The theory used is the epistemology of science and the scientific revolution, so it can be found the relationship between the Qur’an and science which are reflected in the object of research and criticism is made to make the constructive pattern of the Quran interpretation according to the epistemological framework. The results of the study show that there are three patterns of relations between the Qur’an and science. First, the Qur’an is a source of knowledge, in which the Qur’an and theories in the social sciences of the humanities are identical and in line. Second. The Qur’an is a source of universal value. The verses of the Qur’an which relate to the field of study in the social-humanities contain universal axiological values contributing to the construction of the social sciences of the humanities. Third, the Qur’an has a different perspective on an object of science, thus it contributes to build a paradigm of science. Of the three patterns, the second and third patterns can be developed as a pattern of relations between the Qur’an and science. The Qur’an is a social science-humanities paradigm. The relationship between the Quran and the social sciences of the humanities is a dialectical paradigmatic relationship, namely the dialogue between text and context and context to text.[Paper ini bertujuan menganalisis hasil penelitian yang telah terpublikasi dari para peneliti Indonesia yang memiliki topic tafsir al-Quran tematik (mawdūi`) pada bidang Ilmu Sosial Humaniora. Pertanyaannya adalah bagaimana hubungan al-Quran sebagai kitab suci sekaligus sumber ilmu- ilmu keislaman berintegrasi dan berinterkoneksi dengan ilmu-ilmu sosial humaniora. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kritis. Teori yang digunakan adalah epistemologi ilmu dan revolusi ilmu pengetahuan, sehingga dapat ditemukan pola-pola hubungan al-Quran dan sains yang tercermin dalam objek penelitian serta dilakukan kritik untuk membuat pola tafsir al-Quran yang konstruktif sesuai kerangka epistemologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya tiga pola hubungan al-Quran dan sains. Pertama, al-Quran adalah sumber ilmu, di mana al-Quran dan teori-teori dalam ilmu sosial humaniora adalah identik dan sejalan.Kedua.Al-Quran adalah sumber nilai universal. Ayat-ayat al-Quran yang berhubungan dengan bidang kajian dalam ilmu sosial-humaniora mengandung nilai-nilai universal yang aksiologis berkontribusi terhadap konstruksi ilmu sosial humaniora. Ketiga, al-Quran memiliki cara pandang yang berbeda terhadap suatu objek sains, sehingga berkontribusi untuk membangun suatu paradigma ilmu. Dari ketiga pola tersebut, pola kedua dan ketiga dapat dikembangkan sebagai pola hubunganal-Quran dan sains. Al-Quran menjadi paradigma ilmu sosial-humaniora. Hubungan al-Quran dan ilmu-ilmu sosial humaniora adalah hubungan paradigmatik dialektik, yakni dialog antara teks ke konteks dan konteks ke teks.]

Reyog as performing art procession already existing in Ponorogo since pre-Islamic era still grows today even expanding outside the region of Ponorogo both regionally, nationally, and internationally. Reyog at the present time is generally acknowledged as cultural identity of Indonesian nation. The case is different with other Javanese traditions such as kentrung, ludruk, and ketoprak that has collapsed over time. This fact raises interesting questions of how Reyog could withstand against the onslaught of various cultures that come to attack it from time to time. This study used anthropological approach by utilizing the theory of Robert Redfield on the interaction of great tradition and little tradition. The results of this study indicate that although Reyog has interacted with various cultures, particularly Islam, it is able to reform and reformulate its tradition and find cultural attitudes flexible with various cultures that come with it. The cultural attitudes embody in stage-modernization, transformation of mythologies and reforms of the symbols of social values. Reyog sebagai seni pentas arak-arakan yang telah ada di Ponorogo semenjak pra-Islam masih berkembang hingga saat ini bahkan terus mengalami perkembangan ke luar daerah Ponorogo baik secara regional, nasional, dan internasional. Reyog pada masa sekarang secara umum diakui sebagai identitas budaya bangsa Indonesia. Kenyataan itu berbeda dengan tradisi Jawa lain yang telah runtuh dan tinggal dalam arkeologi sejarah budaya seperti kentrung, ludruk, dan ketoprak. Keadaan ini menimbulkan pertanyaan menarik tentang bagaimana Reyog bertahan dari gempuran berbagai budaya yang datang menyerangnya dari zaman ke zaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan antropologi dengan memanfaatkan teori Robert Redfield tentang pertemuan tradisi besar (great tradition) dan budaya kecil (little tradition). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun Reyog bertemu dengan berbagai budaya, khususnya Islam, Reyog mampu mereformasi dan mereformulasi tradisinya sehingga ditemukan sikap budaya yang lentur dan cocok dengan berbagai budaya yang datang bersamanya. Sikap budaya itu berbentuk modernisasi pentas, transformasi mitologi, dan reformasi melalui simbol-simbol nilai sosial-kemasyarakatan.

Abstrak: Artikel ini meneliti khazanah karya sastra Hamzah Fansuri yang menggunakan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an dengan perspektif tafsir esoterik (batiniah). Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta menarik terkait fragmen ayat Al-Qur’an dalam karya sastra Hamzah Fansuri yang saat ini masih sangat terabaikan oleh dunia penelitian akademik terutamanya kajian tafsir Al-Qur’an. Unsur-unsur yang diuraikan antara lain karakteristik karya sastra Hamzah Fansuri, penggunaan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an di dalamnya, dan implikasi penggunaan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an terhadap kedalaman pemaknaan. Metode analisis data dalam kajian ini adalah deskriptif-kualitatif atau pendekatan yang mempelajari spekulasi filosofis (perenungan) dengan menyelipkan fragmen ayat Al-Qur’an di bait-bait puisinya. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa fragmen ayat Al-Qur’an dalam karya sastra Hamzah Fansuri yang memberikan kedalaman pemaknaan dipengaruhi pemikiran tasawuf wujuddiyyah (wujud Tuhan). Penelitian juga menunjukkan karya sastra Hamzah Fansuri mampu menularkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran beragama. Kata Kunci : Bait-bait puisi Hamzah Fansuri, Fragmen ayat Al-Qur’an, Tafsir esoterik Abstract: This article examines the treasures of Hamzah Fansuri's literary works that use verses of the Qur'an with an esoteric (batiniah) interpretation perspective. The research is motivated by interesting facts related to fragments of Al-Qur'an verses in Hamzah Fansuri's literary works which are currently still very neglected by the world of academic research, especially the study of Al-Qur'an interpretation. The elements described include the characteristics of Hamzah Fansuri's literary work, the use of the verses of the Qur'an in it, and the implications of the use of the verses of the Qur'an on the depth of meaning. The data analysis method in this study is descriptive-qualitative or an approach that studies philosophical speculation (contemplation) by inserting fragments of Al-Qur'an verses in the verses of the poem. This study shows that the fragments of Al-Qur'an verses in Hamzah Fansuri's literary works that provide depth of meaning are influenced by the thought of SufismManifestdiyyah (the form of God). Research also shows that Hamzah Fansuri's literary works are able to transmit knowledge and religious awareness.
