Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Modern Darussalam Gontor adalah salah satu lembaga pendidikan Islam yang ada di Indonesia. penelitian ini akan mengungkap model Islam moderat yang diunggulkan oleh Trimurti (tiga pemimpin pondok Darussalam,) dan akan menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkannya moderat dalam menanggapi isu-isu Islam, kebangsaan dan pendidikan. penelitian tergolong dalam penelitian lapangan bersifat kualitatif dan menggunakan metode diskriptif analisis. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa Pondok Pesantren Gontor telah memberikan kontribusi model Islam moderat secara signifikan. Dalam aspek Islam, lembaga pendidikan ini menerapkan prinsip Berdiri diatas dan untuk semua golongan. Moderasi Islam Gontor dengan model teologi Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah, tidak fanatik pada aliran pemikiran Islam tertentu, sehingga menjadi jembatan dan mediator bagi semua golongan. Dalam masalah politik, kebijakan Gontor adalah menerima Pancasila sebagai dasar Negara Indonesia dan mendukung Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Dibidang pendidikan, pendidikan Gontor mengimplementasikan modernisasi sistem pendidikan untuk menciptakan banyak sarjana Muslim yang berpikiran luas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh fundamentalisme dalam tafsir al-Qur`an terhadap pola hubungan sosial dan kemanusiaan. Banyak ahli yang pesimis terhadap kelompok fundamentalis yang ingin kembali kepada ajaran Islam secara murni dapat berkomunikasi dan memecahkan masalah-masalah riil di tengah masyarakat. Kelompok fundamentalis dalam penelitian ini adalah kelompok-kelompok pesantren yang menyuarakan romatisme, kembali kepada al-Qur`an dan al-Sunnah secara murni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok fundamentalis di Lampung adalah generasi muda yang berafiliasi dengan pemikiran salafi yang berhubungan dengan gerakan keagamaan dari Saudi Arabia baik langsung maupun tidak. Mereka memandang al-Qur`an sebagai kitab petunjuk yang menyeluruh yang memuat jawaban atas semua persoalan umat. Mereka menolak penafsiran al-Qur`an untuk pencarian nilai-nilai universal al-Qur`an dalam rangka kontekstualisasi pada masyarakat masa kini. Namun di antara mereka berbeda-beda dalam tingkat keluwesannya dalam menghadapi masalah-masalah riil di masyarakat, semakin lebar mereka membuka diri dan bergaul secara luas dengan banyak elemen di masyarakat, maka mereka akan cenderung semakin luwes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the tafseer al-Mishbāh by M. Quraish Shihab on the verses relating to the process of the human creation that has relevance to the concept of prenatal education. The approach used in this research is tafsir maudhū'i, ie tracing the verses relating to the problem under study and then described the interpretation of the verses. The data that have been collected then analyzed by the method of content analysis which analyze the interpreter's thoughts with theoretical categories so that found the main message and the context. The results of the study show that, God created the first human Adam and Eve then cultivate it into human offspring, by creating the womb. The stages of human development in the womb are ranging from nuthfah, 'alaqah, mudghah and ansya'a khalqan ākhar. The stage of ansya'a khalqan ākhar is the stage of the blowing of the spirit, the covenant of God with man, and God gives nature to man. Since that phase, children can get education. The effort to be done by parents in educating children in the prenatal period are running worship, reading and memorizing Al-Qur`a, dzikir, dialogue, follow the study of Islam (majlis ta`lim), behave well, and be consistent.

Abstract

In today's digital technology era, teachers' function in the learning process seems obscure. They are only perceived as learning facilitators. This paper attempted to find relevant teacher's concepts in the digital era according to the interpretation of the Qur'an. The perspective of the Qur'an interpretation needs to be studied as a source of knowledge to find teacher's concepts relevant to the digital era because the existing studies on teachers tend to be based on partial perspective between theory and norm. It was conducted under the interpretation of the Qur'an on the development and internalization of science. The interpretation of some verses was analyzed for contextuality and its implications on the function of teachers in the current era. The study results suggested that a teacher should function as an educator and caregiver. He/she not only teaches science but also directs and nurtures students, so they understand and practice moral goodness. Education is responsible for developing not only cognitive but also psychomotor skills. It must also improve students' knowledge of goodness and virtue so that they can practice it in the end. That the function of a teacher is to educate and nurture students to be a good human is yet relevant today. This paper suggested a deeper research to examine the decline in the role of teachers around the school environment by evaluating the curriculum and learning system.

Abstract

This research aims to examine character education in pesantrens (Islamic boarding schools also known as pondok pesantren) as a model of religious education in transforming the attitudes of students in line with the values and culture of a diverse society. This study is based on documents related to the curriculum and student guidance system, which were confirmed through interviews with leaders and teachers, as well as observations at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, Indonesia. The research findings indicate that Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, Indonesia, has implemented a transformative education system. Students have undergone a transformation from traditional, fanatic, and closed values to modern, rational, disciplined, inclusive, independent, and responsible ones. The transformation in students' personalities occurs not only through classroom learning but also through reflective engagement in pesantren management, discussions, and public speaking exercises. The findings of this study imply that the religious education system in pesantrens should prioritize not only the cognitive aspects of doctrinal religious knowledge, but also involve students in society, fostering open, tolerant, and rational characters.

Abstract

Evaluative study is a type of research to identify the relationship between goals, processes, results, and the impact of the implementation of a certain program or activity. The current research aimed to evaluate the program of tahfidz (Qur’an memorization) in several junior high schools of pesantren (SMP Pesantren) around Ponorogo Regency. It is qualitative research with multisite study. The informants were selected by purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. They were analyzed using the interactive technique of Miles and Huberman, which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results suggested that tahfidz program at schools of pesantren in Ponorogo can improve the students' morale. The program was implemented through activities integrated with the learning process. However, some schools separate the program (takhassus). Besides, the tahfidz program at junior high school of pesantren is intended that they graduate with a complete memorization of the Qur’an. The positive impact is an increase in public interest and trust in the school while the negative impact is the competition to increase the number of memorizations that is not based on the ability of students so that they encounter stress.

Abstract

Reyog as performing art procession already existing in Ponorogo since pre-Islamic era still grows today even expanding outside the region of Ponorogo both regionally, nationally, and internationally. Reyog at the present time is generally acknowledged as cultural identity of Indonesian nation. The case is different with other Javanese traditions such as kentrung, ludruk, and ketoprak that has collapsed over time. This fact raises interesting questions of how Reyog could withstand against the onslaught of various cultures that come to attack it from time to time. This study used anthropological approach by utilizing the theory of Robert Redfield on the interaction of great tradition and little tradition. The results of this study indicate that although Reyog has interacted with various cultures, particularly Islam, it is able to reform and reformulate its tradition and find cultural attitudes flexible with various cultures that come with it. The cultural attitudes embody in stage-modernization, transformation of mythologies and reforms of the symbols of social values. Reyog sebagai seni pentas arak-arakan yang telah ada di Ponorogo semenjak pra-Islam masih berkembang hingga saat ini bahkan terus mengalami perkembangan ke luar daerah Ponorogo baik secara regional, nasional, dan internasional. Reyog pada masa sekarang secara umum diakui sebagai identitas budaya bangsa Indonesia. Kenyataan itu berbeda dengan tradisi Jawa lain yang telah runtuh dan tinggal dalam arkeologi sejarah budaya seperti kentrung, ludruk, dan ketoprak. Keadaan ini menimbulkan pertanyaan menarik tentang bagaimana Reyog bertahan dari gempuran berbagai budaya yang datang menyerangnya dari zaman ke zaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan antropologi dengan memanfaatkan teori Robert Redfield tentang pertemuan tradisi besar (great tradition) dan budaya kecil (little tradition). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun Reyog bertemu dengan berbagai budaya, khususnya Islam, Reyog mampu mereformasi dan mereformulasi tradisinya sehingga ditemukan sikap budaya yang lentur dan cocok dengan berbagai budaya yang datang bersamanya. Sikap budaya itu berbentuk modernisasi pentas, transformasi mitologi, dan reformasi melalui simbol-simbol nilai sosial-kemasyarakatan.
