Abstract

The Anacardiaceae family holds significant ecological and economic value in tropical Asia, including Indonesia, as a source of fruits, timber, and valuable secondary metabolites. This study aimed to identify and describe the species diversity and morphological characteristics of Anacardiaceae in Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research was conducted from December 2025 to February 2026 using a descriptive exploratory method involving field observation, specimen collection, and morphological analysis. Sampling followed the exploration method of Rugayah et al., while morphological observations were based on de Vogel and Rifai. Species identification was conducted using taxonomic literature from the Anacardiaceae series of Flora Malesiana and herbarium specimens. The results recorded five species of Anacardiaceae: Mangifera indica, Mangifera odorata, Mangifera foetida, Anacardium occidentale, and Spondias dulcis. Mangifera indica was the most dominant species, comprising seven cultivated cultivars. Species differentiation was based on vegetative and generative morphological traits, including leaf type, shape, apex, texture, inflorescence type, fruit, and seed characteristics. The findings indicate relatively high diversity of Anacardiaceae in the study area, particularly within the genus Mangifera, influenced by environmental variation and human cultivation practices.

Abstract

This research examines the efficiency of banking sectoral credit in generating economic output in East Java, with a focus on the impact of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) on the credit-output efficiency frontier. Using quarterly sectoral data from 2012 to 2022 and implementing a stochastic frontier approach, this study decomposes NPLs into two categories: inefficient NPLs, arising from financing inefficiencies, and structural NPLs, originating from inherent credit risk and market risk. Subsequently, a dynamic fixed effects model is employed to test the impact of these decomposed NPLs on credit-output efficiency. The research results indicate that NPLs significantly influence credit efficiency. Inefficient NPLs tend to reduce credit-output efficiency in the short term, while structural NPLs diminish credit-output efficiency in both the short and long term. Based on these findings, enhancing sectoral credit-output efficiency necessitates improving banking risk management to reduce inefficient NPLs and maintaining macroeconomic stability to mitigate structural NPLs. Additionally, efforts to boost credit-output efficiency should focus on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) main sectors, such as manufacturing, trade, and logistics. Macroprudential incentives could be provided to banks that extend credit to priority sectors and exhibit low levels of inefficient NPLs. Concurrently, fiscal policy should aim to expand economic scale through infrastructure development, tax incentives, and accelerated technology adoption.

Abstract

The rapid increase in Indonesian capital market investors, reaching 14.8 million by the end of 2024, reflects rising financial literacy and public interest in investment. However, global crises and domestic policy shifts, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and credit write-off policies, have created volatility in the banking sector and pressured stock prices. This study aims to examine the effect of net interest margin (NIM), non-performing loans (NPL), interest rates, and exchange rates on the stock prices of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2020–2024. Using a hypothetico-deductive and causal research design, the study employs secondary data from financial reports and Bank Indonesia, with purposive sampling of 24 banks. Multiple linear regression was applied with classical assumption tests. The results show that NIM has a significant positive effect, while NPL has a significant negative effect on stock prices. Conversely, interest rates and exchange rates do not exert significant influence. Simultaneously, all four variables significantly affect stock prices, though the contribution is relatively modest (8.3%). These findings suggest that investors should prioritize NIM and NPL when evaluating investment decisions. Academically, the study contributes to the debate on the role of profitability and credit risk as key drivers of stock performance in emerging markets.
