Abstract

In this paper, the comparison of wave characteristics between Cartesian and cylindrical coordinate system–based structures was analyzed using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The use of FDTD method wasconsidered due to its advantage in solving electromagnetics (EM) problems in wide spectrum of frequency and geometry shapes. The analysis was undertaken for three-dimensions (3D) Cartesian and cylindrical coordinate system–based structures with dimension of x = 600 mm, y = 300 mm, z = 1.200 mm, dan ???? = 600 mm, ???? =1 °, z = 1.200 mm, respectively. A transverse electric (TE) mode excitation of sine wave modulated Gaussian pulse with frequency of 1 GHz was applied for exciting both structures with the direction of propagation wave assumed in z–axis. Some scenarios were applied for both structures conditioned with free space, dielectric, and conductive medium. The attenuation rate obtained from three modelling scenarios in Cartesian coordinate system structures were 0.35 Np/m, 0.24 Np/m, and 0.62 Np/m, respectively. Meanwhile the attenuation rates for cylindrical coordinate system structure were 0.35 Np/m, 0.21 Np/m, and 0.40 Np/m. The simulation result for resonant frequency in Cartesian and cylindrical coordinate systemstructure conditioned with free space were 558.706 MHz and 498.466 MHz, respectively. The resonant frequency obtainedfrom simulation result in Cartesian and cylindrical coordinatesystem structure conditioned with dielectric medium was similar with the one from theoretical calculation in which the highesterror were 2.03% and 0.73%, respectively.

Abstract

Antena Yagi konvensional dan antena Yagi cetak sebagai komponen penyusun sensor deteksi petir telah dirancang dan disimulasikan pada penelitian ini. Kedua antena memiliki jumlah elemen yang sama dan dicatu dengan menggunakan coaxial probe. Antena Yagi cetak menggunakan medium berupa bahan substrat dielektrik dengan nilai permitivitas relatif tertentu sedangkan antena yagi konvensional menggunakan medium udara. Dimensi akhir rancangan antena Yagi adalah sebesar 0,84? x 0,5?, sementara antena Yagi cetak 0,595? x 0,47?. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa dengan ukuran yang lebih kecil, ringan, dan planar, antena Yagi cetak mampu bekerja pada frekuensi yang sama dengan koefisien refleksi sebesar -17,1dB, gain puncak 8,8dBi, dan memiliki pola radiasi directional pada pita VHF.

Abstract

This paper discusses decoupling techniques for suppressing electromagnetic coupling between elements of beamforming antenna arrays. Guard trace structures, which are commonly used for crosstalk reduction on printed circuit board technology, are proposed to be inserted between the array elements for coupling reduction. Two types of guard trace structures, i.e., straight guard traces and serpentine guard traces, were explored, and the effect of using via holes on both types of guard traces was studied. For this purpose, two-element antenna arrays with guard trace structures inserted between array elements were designed and simulated. The simulation results showed that a straight guard trace with vias (straight GTV) and a serpentine guard trace without vias (serpentine GT) could effectively reduce EM coupling between elements of array antennas. To verify the simulation results, prototypes of antenna arrays with straight GTV and serpentine GT were realized and measured. The measurement results showed coupling reductions of 5 dB and 6.4 dB could be achieved when straight GTV and serpentine GT are inserted between two array elements separated by edge-to-edge distances of 4 mm and 9.05 mm, respectively. Therefore, the proposed decoupling technique is suitable for beamforming antenna arrays with a very close distance between array elements.

Abstract

The performance of the phase shift keying (PSK) modulation technique over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and multipath propagation channels generally becomes worse for higher-order modes. Therefore, a new modulation technique should be provided in order to have a system that is capable of transmitting data with higher efficiency while maintaining better performance at the same time. This paper presents the development of a fractal wavelet packet transform incorporated within the M-ary PSK system, namely M-ary PSK orthogonal wavelet division multiplexing (OWDM), which is proposed to obtain high performance of modulation in terms of spectrum efficiency and bandwidth resources intended for wireless communication systems. To demonstrate performance improvement over a Rayleigh frequency selective fading channel and in the presence of AWGN noise, the proposed system was evaluated and compared to the basic modulation system and M-ary PSK employing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The performance results show that M-ary PSK OWDM had better performance in comparison with M-ary PSK OFDM and the conventional system. By utilizing 16 subcarriers, QPSK OWDM achieved bit error rate performance improvement from 1.5 × 10-3 to 1 × 10-4 for Eb/N0 of 20 dB with efficient bandwidth.

Abstract

Window methods that are frequently used in the design of finite impulse response filters are also applicable to antenna array designs. This paper explores the application of a Kaiser function in a power-weighted antenna array design, focusing on the determination of the Kaiser function’s β parameter. The determination, which includes the calculation, optimization, and validation of the β parameter, was carried out based on a specific configuration of a linear antenna array design. The observation of this exploration emphasized the suppression of the sidelobe level (SLL) and the width of main lobe (WML) performance. By changing the β parameter, the Kaiser function is capable of approximating different window methods, since it plays an important role in defining the set of weighting coefficients for a specifically targeted SLL. Kaiser function application in power-weighted antenna array designs with a linear arrangement indicates the need of β parameter optimization because of the disagreement between the obtained SLL and the targeted SLL. The optimized β parameter produced a smaller SLL error for even and odd numbers of elements. From the validation, the average SLL error percentage for a targeted SLL of 25 dB, 35 dB, and 45 dB was 6%, 4.31%, 6.10%, respectively.

Abstract

إن دراسة كتاب التراث (في قسم الفقه وأصوله) هي الموضوع الأصولي الذي يتعلم به الطلبة في معهد سلفية شافعية العالي سيتوبندو. وقد أثارت هذه الدراسة كتاب التراث الاسم "المعهد العالي" على نطاق واسع في جميع أنحاء البلاد لأن المعهد العالي استطاع أن يلد ويطور تجديد كادره من خلال برنامجه في دراسة كتاب التراث. في تطور وإعداد العلماء في عصر الثورة الصناعية 4.0 استخدموا تطبيق i-santri لدعم الأنشطة الأكاديمية الطلابية في المعهد العالي. لذا ، فإن محور هذا البحث هو الكشف عن كيفية تطوير المعهد العالي كوادر العلماء من خلال برنامج دراسة كتاب التراث وكيف يساهم كوادر العلماء في المجتمع. يستخدم تحليل البيانات بالتخليل الوصفي كيفي من خلال جمع البيانات بالملاحظة والمقابلات والوثائق. تظهر نتائج البحث أن الموارد البشرية التي تشارك في المعهد العالي لها دور كبير على عملية تطوير كوادر العلماء من خلال دراسة كتاب التراث فهم المدرسون، والمديرون، والطلاب. وتظهر مساهمات كوادر العلماء في المجتمع على شكل خدمتهم في معهد سلفي أخرى في إندونيسيا. تكون خدمة المجتمع على شكل تطوير علمي تفقه في الدين، وتطوير مؤسسات تفقه في الدين، وخدمات الاستشارات القانونية الإسلامية، ونشر نتائج قرارات الشريعة الإسلامية، وغيرها من أشكال التمكين والتطور في مجال الشريعة الإسلامية و تفقه في الدين وفقا لاحتياجات المجتمع. هذا هو المكان الذي يستحدم فيه المعرفة التي أتقنها خلال عملية التعلم في المعهد العالي.

Abstract

Rawa Danau Nature Reserve is an area of the old volcanic caldera located in Serang District, Banten Province about 100 km to the west of Jakarta. This area has been identified as a very important natural site on the island of Java. This is based on the fact that the main wetland ecosystem at Rawa Danau is the only remaining freshwater swamp forest ecosystem of peat swamp forests in Java Island. The objective of this study was to identify land cover classes and their changes in Rawa Danau Nature reserve area on 2006, 2011, and 2016, and also calculate degradation rate and reforestation during the time of observation. This study was conducted in April - June 2017. Data sources was generated from landat image  ETM+7 coverage year of 2006 and 2011, Image Landsat OLI 8 coverage year 2016 and other supporting digital maps. Supporting tools and instruments used were software, ArcGis 10.1, Erdas 9.1, GPS, Camera and Stationary. The result showed that land cover can be successfully classified both digitally or visually and  composed of secondary swamp forest, marsh bushes, fields, settlements, water body and swamp. Highest degradation during 2006-2016 occured on swamp forest that was converted into fields, while highest reforestation happened on fields that became swamp area.  Key words: Degradation, Image Landsat, Land Cover Changes, Land Cover

Abstract

ABSTRAKDalam makalah ini dikembangkan sebuah pembagi daya yang terintegrasi dengan proses filtering yang dinamakan Filtering Power Divider (FPD) untuk mendapatkan ukuran perangkat yang compact. FPD yang diusulkan terdiri dari 2 buah Band Pass Filter (BPF) yang dirancang berdasarkan teknik Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) untuk beroperasi pada frekuensi Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) 5,8 GHz. Optimasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan sebuah perangkat lunak simulasi untuk menyelidiki pengaruh parameter filter yang berbeda terhadap proses pemfilteran serta tanggapan keluaran FPD. Substrat dielektrik Duroid 5880 dengan ketebalan 1,575 mm digunakan untuk merealisasi FPD dengan total dimensi 95 mm x 70 mm. FPD yang direalisasi memiliki tanggapan bandwidth sebesar 75 MHz pada rentang frekuensi 5,9 GHz hingga 5,975 GHz dan isolasi antar port keluaran sebesar 20 dB.Kata kunci: Band Pass Filter (BPF), filtering power divider, Substrate Integrated,Waveguide (SIW), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN).ABSTRACTIn this paper power divider integrated with filtering process, named as Filtering Power Divider (FPD), is developed to achieve a compact size of the device. The proposed FPD is composed of 2 pieces of Band Pass Filter (BPF) designed based on Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) to operate at the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) frequency of 5.8 GHz. The optimizations are carried out using a simulation software to investigate the effect of different filter parameters to the filtering process as well as to the output response of FPD. A Duroid 5880 dielectric substrate with the thickness of 1.575 mm is used to realized the FPD with the total dimensions of 95 mm x 70 mm. The realized FPD has a bandwidth response of 75 MHz in the frequency range of 5.9 GHz to 5.975 GHz and isolation between output ports is 20 dB.Keywords: Band Pass Filter (BPF); filtering power divider; Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW); Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN).

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas mengenai penerima gelombang extremely low frequency (ELF) untuk pengolahan akuisisi data gempa bumi. Penerima ELF dirancang menggunakan operational amplifier (Op-Amp) dengan masukan takmembalik. Sinyal yang diterima oleh antena diteruskan ke penerima ELF yang terdiri dari preamplifier dan amplifier untuk proses penguatan, serta filter aktif orde 2 untuk menekan sinyal di atas frekuensi cut-off sebesar 50Hz. Karakterisasi penerima ELF dilakukan dengan mengamati perbandingan level tegangan sinyal keluaran terhadap level tegangan sinyal masukan, sensitivitas, serta bentuk sinyal keluaran dari penerima ELF dalam domain waktu. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa penerima ELF menghasilkan penguatan sebesar 60,8dB dengan sensitifitas tinggi untuk level sinyal masukan di bawah -30dB yang mampu memenuhi level sinyal untuk pengolahan akuisisi data.Kata kunci: extremely low frequency, penerima ELF, operational amplifier, filter aktif, gempa bumi ABSTRACTThis research presents extremely low frequency (ELF) receiver for earthquake data acquisition processing. The ELF receiver is designed based on non-inverting operational amplifier (Op-Amp). The signal received by the antenna is fed into ELF receiver which consists of preamplifier and amplifier for amplification, and second order active filter to suppress unwanted signal above the cut-off frequency of 50Hz. Characterization of ELF receiver is performed by observing the comparison of the level output signal to level input signal, sensitivity, and ELF receiver signal output in time domain. The simulation results show that the ELF receiver has gain of 60.8dB with high sensitivity for low level input signals below -30dB that is able to meet signal level for data acquisition processing.Keywords: extremely low frequency, ELF receiver, operational amplifier, active filter, earthquake

Abstract

ABSTRAKPaper ini membahas pengaruh jumlah profil ridge terhadap performansi antena horn untuk aplikasi tomografi. Penelitian ini mengobservasi dua variasi jumlah ridge, yaitu dua ridge dan empat ridge. Untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh jumlah ridge terhadap kinerja antena horn, maka didesain tiga jenis antena horn yang berbeda: antena horn tanpa ridge (horn konvensional), antena horn dengan penambahan dua ridge (DRHA), dan antena horn dengan penambahan empat ridge (QRHA). Ketiga jenis antena difabrikasi dengan menggunakan teknik CNC milling dengan bahan dasar aluminium. Kinerja antena kemudian dikarakterisasi melalui eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengamati pengaruh jumlah ridge terhadap parameter-parameter antena, yaitu koefisien refleksi, gain, dan pola radiasi. Hasil dari karakterisasi eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa QRHA, yaitu antena horn dengan penambahan empat ridge, memberikan kinerja terbaik dalam hal bandwidth, beamwidth, dan gain.Kata kunci: antena horn; frekuensi cut-off; tomografi; double-ridge, quad-ridge. ABSTRACTThis paper discusses the effect of ridge number on the horn antenna performance for tomography application. The study observes two variations in the number of ridges: two ridges and four ridges. To evaluate the impact of the number of ridges on the horn antenna's performance, three different types of horn antennas were designed: horn antenna without ridge (conventional horn antenna); horn antenna with two addition ridges (DRHA); horn antenna with four addition ridges (QRHA). The antennas were fabricated using CNC milling technique with aluminum as the base material. The antenna performance was then characterized through experiments aimed at observing the influence of the number of ridges on antenna parameters in term of reflection coefficient, gain, and radiation pattern. The results of the experimental characterization indicated that QRHA, the horn antenna with the addition of four ridges, exhibited the best performance in terms of bandwidth, beamwidth, and gain.Keywords: horn antenna,cut-off frequency,tomography,double-ridge,quad-ridge.
