Abstract

ABSTRAKEnam puluh ekor ayam ras petelur strain Isa Brown masing-masing 30 ekor fase grower dan fase layer, telah digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui regulasi panas tubuh terhadap kedua fase tersebut. Ayam percobaan ditempatkan dalam kandang “battery individual cage” selama 2 bulan pada musim kemarau (Juni-Agustus 2011). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jengger ayam fase grower dan layer merupakan organ yang lebih besar mengevaporasikan panas dibandingkan pial, bulu dan shank. Namun pada fase layer terjadi peningkatan evaporasi panas pada shank yang signifikant. Respon respirasi (laju respirasi dan denyut jantung) nyata lebih tinggi pada fase layer. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan respon ayam fase layer dalam mengevaporasikan panas terutama pada shank, serta terjadi perubahan respon respirasi sebagai indikasi stres panas.  Kata kunci: ayam petelur, panas, regulasi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian glutation 150 ppm dalam ransum terhadap peroksidasi lipid ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kandang Produksi Ternak Unggas dan analisis sampel dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Biokimia Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Objek penelitian ini terdiri dari 60 ekor ayam broiler yang dipelihara sejak doc sampai umur 35 hari. Sebanyak 60 ekor ayam broiler dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok yaitu 30 ekor ayam diberi glutation 150 ppm dan 30 ekor ayam broiler tidak diberi glutation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan glutution dalam ransum sebanyak 150 ppm per kg ransum mempengaruhi kadar MDA, kolesterol dan TIBC ayam broiler. Rata-rata kadar MDA, kolesterol dan TIBC ayam broiler yang diberi glutation berturut-turut adalah 2,501 ± 0,033 nm/M-1cm-1, 196,093 ± 2,821b mg/dl, 499,759 ± 2,730b mg/dl. Glutation 150 ppm dalam ransum mampu menekan konsentrasi MDA dan meningkatkan kadar kolestrol dan TIBC dalam plasma darah ayam broiler.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi asam urat terhadap malondlialdehyde (MDA) dan Transferrin pada ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kandang percobaan dan analisis sampel dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Biokimia Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Objek penelitian terdiri dari 50 ekor ayam broiler yang dipelihara selama 35 hari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu eksperimental dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis korelasi. Peubah yang diamati yaitu: asam urat, malondialdehyde (MDA) dan transferrin. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa asam urat memiliki korelasi yang tinggi terhadap malondialdehyde (MDA) dan transferrin. Dengan nilai korelasi masing-masing 0,853; 0,968 dan koefesien besaran masing masing 0,727; 0,936. Model regresi untuk nilai pendugaan asam urat dengan MDA yaitu y = 11,192 – 1,794x dan asam urat dengan transferrin yaitu y = 1,4348 + 0,701x.

Abstract

This research was conducted from April to June 2023 at the Tunas Mekar Cattle Group, KSU Tandangsari. As many as 16 Friesian Holstein (FH) dairy cows lactating 1-5, were used in this study to review the leukocyte differentiation and biomarker stress profiles and find out which treatment had the best effect on the leukocyte differentiation profile and biomarker stress. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments included P0 (control) consisting of 60% forage + 40% concentrate; P1 = 60% forage + 40% concentrate (97% concentrate + 3% protein by-pass); P2 = 60% forage + 40% concentrate (95% concentrate + 3% protein by-pass + 2% Ca-PUFA); and P3 = 60% forage + 40% concentrate (93% concentrate + 3% protein by-pass + 2% Ca-PUFA + 2% organic minerals). Based on the results of the study, it was shown that feeding supplementation had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the leukocyte differentiation profile and stress biomarkers of lactating dairy cattle in the Mekar Tunas Livestock Group, KSU Tandangsari. Lactation dairy cows treated with P3 = 60% forage + 40% concentrate (93% concentrate + 3% protein by-pass + 2% Ca-PUFA + 2% organic minerals) had lower mean leukocyte differentiation and biomarker stress than controls ( P<0.05). This can be interpreted that the provision of rations supplemented with feed supplements in the form of 3% protein by-pass + 2% Ca-PUFA + 2% organic minerals is able to reduce the level of heat stress as seen based on leukocyte levels and their differentiation and stress marker enzymes in the blood.

Abstract

Twenty lactating dairy cows with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lactation periods and 1st to 5th lactation months as research objects to determine the effect of giving feed supplements on hematology and blood biochemistry. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with an experimental method consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. Each treatment consisted of 5 lactating dairy cows. The study was conducted for 10 weeks with the first 2 weeks being used as the adaptation stage. The treatments given were P0 = basal ration without feed supplement (control), P1 = 60% forage + 40% concentrate (97% concentrate + 3% protein by-pass), P2 = 60% forage + 40% concentrate (95% concentrate + 3% protein by-pass + 2% Ca-PUFA), and P3 = 60% forage + 40% concentrate (93% concentrate + 3% protein by-pass + 2% Ca-PUFA + 2% organic minerals). Blood sampling was carried out for each cow so that 20 blood samples were obtained. Blood sampling was carried out twice. The parameters observed in this study were the hematological profile which included Red Blood Cell (RBC), hemoglobin, hematocrit, Man Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC), and platelets. Blood biochemical parameters include glucose, total protein, albumin, and globulin. The results showed that feeding supplementation had a significant (P<0.05) effect on hematology and blood biochemistry, except MCV, MCHC, glucose, and albumin. The hematological and blood biochemical profiles of lactating dairy cows remain optimal through feed supplements in the form of protein by-pass, Ca-PUFA, and organic minerals.

Abstract

Twenty Hy-Line Brown laying hens aged 102 weeks were reared as research objects to determine the effect of an ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves on the liver health of laying hens in the final layer of production. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with an experimental method consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Each repetition consisted of one laying hen. The treatment was given for a maintenance period of 35 days, namely P0 = basal diet without ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves; P1 = basal diet containing 0.08% ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves; P2 = basal diet containing ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves (0.12%); and P3 = basal diet containing 0.16% ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves. Sampling was carried out by selecting one individual in each experimental unit, so that there were 20 samples. The parameters observed in the study were profiles of transferase enzymes (AST, ALT, and GGT) and profiles of free radical biomarkers (MDA, ALP, bilirubin, and uric acid). The results showed that administration of an ethanol extract of Moringa leaves in the ration had a significant effect (P 0.05) on the profile of the transferase enzyme and markers of free radical activity. The liver function of laying hens remained optimal after administering an ethanol extract of Moringa leaves with a content of 0.16% in diet.

Abstract

Increased livestock products challenge farmers to make animal feed more efficient. The utilization of onggok as a by-product of tapioca processing that is rich in energy and chicory as a protein source forage that is ensiled with additional additives aims to improve each other's nutrient quality. This study was conducted to evaluate the results of the material mixture by observing its physical quality, including color, texture, aroma, presence of fungi, and pH value. A completely randomized design was conducted with 6 different treatments, consisting of different ratios of basic material mixtures and the addition of additives such as EM4 and tannin. The results showed that the ratio of chicory and onggok in silage had a significant effect on the color and texture of silage, but had no significant effect on the aroma and the presence of fungi. The addition of additives also significantly affects the color of silage due to the use of EM4, and has an insignificant effect on silage pH due to the addition of tannins which affect the activity of lactic acid bacteria.

Abstract

Pollard merupakan hasil samping penggilingan gandum yang berpotensi sebagai sumber betain alami untuk pakan fungsional. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh lama maserasi pollard menggunakan pelarut metanol terhadap rendemen, pH, dan profil fitokimia. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Riset dan Pengujian Bioteknologi Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan waktu maserasi (24, 36, 48, dan 72 jam) dan lima ulangan. Data rendemen dan pH dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan uji Duncan, serta data profil fitokimia dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama maserasi selama 48 jam menghasilkan rendemen tertinggi sebesar 6,60% dan menghasilkan pH maserasi dan ekstrak tertinggi. Profil fitokimia menunjukkan kandungan senyawa bioaktif paling optimal pada lama maserasi 48 jam, sementara pada perlakuan 72 jam mengalami penurunan kandungan senyawa bioaktif. Disimpulkan bahwa lama maserasi selama 48 jam merupakan waktu optimal untuk memperoleh ekstrak pollard. ABSTRACT Pollard is a byproduct of wheat milling that has the potential to be a source of natural betaine for functional feed. This study aims to analyze the effect of pollard maceration time using methanol solvent on yield, pH, and phytochemical profile. The study was conducted at the Biotechnology Research and Testing Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four maceration time treatments (24, 36, 48, and 72 hours) and five replications. Yield and pH data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's test, and phytochemical profile data were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that a maceration time of 48 hours produced the highest yield of 6.60% and produced the highest maceration pH and extract. The phytochemical profile showed the most optimal bioactive compound content at a maceration time of 48 hours, while the 72-hour treatment experienced a decrease in bioactive compound content. It was concluded that a maceration time of 48 hours is the optimal time to obtain pollard extract.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan mikroenkapsulasi ekstrak buah mengkudu (MEBM) dalam ransum ayam sentul fase grower terhadap kadar kreatinin, CK (kreatin kinase), dan IGF (insulin growth factors). Ayam sentul yang digunakan berjumlah seratus ekor dengan umur 0-12 minggu. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0 (Ransum basal tanpa penambahan MEBM), P1 (Ransum basal+75 mg/kg MEBM), P2 (Ransum basal+150 mg/kg MEBM), P3 (Ransum basal+225 mg/kg MEBM).
