Abstract

The teaching of Sufism contains the noble values. The noble values can also be found in a variety of Javanis traditions and local wisdom, one of them is Kawruh Jiwa Ki Ageng Suryomentaram. The concept of Kawruh Jiwa is a method to achieve the soul condition without ego, it’s also called “man without attribute”, is relevant to the teachings of Sufism in the fight against the lust, and pursue the noble values of Sufistic wisdom. This study intends to reveal the Sufistic values in Kawruh Jiwa Ki Ageng Suryomentaram, by analyzing the relevance between the values in maqamat and ahwal with Kawruh Jiwa concept. The results showed that the concept of Kawruh Jiwa relevance to the values of maqamat and ahwal such as repentance (tawbah), asceticism (zuhd), patient (sabr), confidence (tawakkul), mujahadah, qanaah, tawadhu, and itsar. Thus, it can be said that the Kawruh Jiwa relevance with the Sufistic noble values, and reinforce those values in the frame of local wisdom.

Abstract

AbstrakSalah satu fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan akhir-akhir ini adalah munculnya sikap ekstrim dalam beragama, yang berpotensi memunculkan disintegrasi bangsa.Ekstremitas sikap ini antara lain disebabkan oleh jenis teologi yang dianut oleh karena itu, untuk membentengi semakin meluasnya ekstremitas ini dapat dilakukan antara lain dengan menghidupkankembali model teologi yang dipahami oleh masyarakat pesantren. Salah satu kitab terpenting yang dikaji di pesantren adalah Kitab Umm Barahin karya al-Sanusi . Apa isi dari kitab ini, bagaimana respon santri dan reinterpretasi ustadz terhadap kitab ini, merupakan fokus dari penelitian ini. Penelitian ini mengambil locus di Pesantren Salafiyah Syafiiyah Situbondo Jawa Timur.Melalui analisa isi dan interteks, penelitian ini antara lain menemukanbahwa ternyata kitab ini hanya memuat empat puluhdelapan aqaid, bukan lima puluh sebagaimana yang dipahami khalayak ramai selama ini.Kata kunci: Masalah Teologis, Pesantren Salaf, Aqaid Sanusiah, Umm BarahinAbstractOne of the recent worriest phenomenan is the appearance of extreme religious attitudes that potentially drives national dissintegration. The extrimity can be carried out by theological doctrines. Therefore, in order to prevent the expanse of this extrimity, it is important to review theological models which have been understood and practiced by pesantren society. One of the books learnt in pesantren is Umm Barahin which was written by al-Sanusi. The contents of the book, how students respond to the teachings and how the teachers reinterprete the materials are the the main questions raised in this research. This research took place in Salafiyah Syafiiyah Pesantren Situbondo East Java. Through content and intertext analyses, this research finds out that this book consists of 48 aqaid (theological doctrines), not 50 aqaid as it is usually understood by common people or educated ones.Keywords: Theological Problems, Salaf Pesantren, Aqaid Sanusiah, Umm Barahin.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate the use of Sirah for Hadith understanding, which is broken down into four sub-problems, namely: 1) What are the problems of Hadith understanding; 2) what are the problems of the use of Sirah for Hadith understanding; and 3) how is the application. Data were collected from literature sources, both primary and secondary, which began by the symbolic reading, semantic reading and recording. The analysis carried out during and after data collection, consisting of reduction, classification and display of data. Data analysis was conducted using historical, comparative and hermeneutics methods.  The findings of this study are: First, generally the problem of Hadith understanding can be grouped into three categories, namely wurud problems, dalalah problems and comprehensifity problems. The wurud problems associated with efforts to determine hadith maqbul (accepted hadith) and hadith mardud (rejected hadith). The dalalah problems related to an attempt to understand and practice the hadith maqbul. The comprehensifity problems associated with an attempt to obtain data as complete as possible, both from the collections of Hadith and the collection of Sirah. Second, the problem of the use of Sirah for Hadith understanding can be grouped into two categories, namely the problems surrounding the relationship among Sirah, Hadith and Asbab al-Wurud. Based on the comparison among them, it was found that the use of Sirah for Hadith understanding is legitimate and important as the context in addition to Asbab al-Wurud. Third, the application of the use of Sirah for Hadith understanding can be seen through three problems of Hadith understanding above. In wurud problems, the use of Sirah is shown in its position as one of the criterium of matan critics. In dalalah problems, the use of Sirah appears on its position as the socio-historical context that is more extensive than Asbab al-Wurud al-Khashshah and clearer and more valid than Asbab al-Wurud al-‘Ammah. In comprehensifity problem, the use of Sirah looks at his position as a partner for Hadith in providing data. Abstract

One of the most important phenomenon that characterized the begining of XXI century is the blossom of spiritual activities. Broadly speaking, there are two model of spiritualities: institutional spirituality like tarekat and non-institutional spirituality. This article focus on how religious study that so far executed by Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia Central Java, which much pertained to the main themes of tasawuf study, like purification of heart, tawakkal, ikhlas, sabar, etc. But because they rejected tasawwuf, so they applied the term of spirituality.***Salah satu fenomena terpenting yang yang mencirikan awal abad XXI adalah berkembangnya aktifitas spiritual. Secara luas, ada dua model spiritualitas: spiritualitas institusional seperti tarikat dan spiritualitas non-institusional. Artikel ini memfokuskan pada bagaimana kajian agama yang selama ini dilakukan oleh Hizbut  Tahrir Indonesia in central Java yang terkait erat dengan tema-tema utama dalam kajian tasawuf seperti pemurnian hati, tawakkal, ikhlas, sabar, dan lain-lain. Namun karena mereka menolak tasawuf maka mereka mereka menggunakan spiritualitas.

Abstract

Ada problem parsialitas dalam memahami pesan yang dibawa oleh Nabi Muhammad saw, yang berakibat antara lain pada pemahaman yang cenderung ekslusif dan destruktif, seperti paham radikalisme. Pemahaman ini tentu tidak sejalan dengan nilai-nilai dasar Islam, sehingga tidak hanya tidak layak diterapkan dalam konteks bangsa yang homogen sekalipun, tetapi juga dalam konteks bangsa yang heterogen seperti Indonesia. Dalam konteks global, pemahaman ini lebih menunjukkan ketidaklayakannya.Salah satu faktor yang melatarbelakangi parsialitas ini adalah kecenderungan menangkap pesan yang dibawa oleh Nabi Muhammad saw, hanya berdasarkan koleksi-koleksi Hadis saja, tanpa melibatkan koleksi-koleksi Sirah; salah satu sebabnya karena koleksi-koleksi Sirah  dianggap profan, tidak sakral sebagaimana koleksi-koleksi Hadis. Padahal, banyak informasi penting yang disajikan oleh koleksi-koleksi Sirah.Tulisan singkat ini akan mencoba membandingkan antara Hadis dan Sirah dalam rangka mengintegrasikan keduanya sebagai bahan yang tidak bisa dipisahkan untuk menangkap pesan profetik. Model penangkapan pesan profetik yang utuh berdasarkan koleksi-koleksi Hadis dan Sirah ini diharapkan menjadi salah satu ikhtiar menjawab problem transformasi global, khususnya problem disintegrasi bangsa yang diakibatkan oleh paham keagamaan yang kurang proporsional.

Abstract

One reason for the importance of understanding the hadits is talking about the existence of the problems associated with exploring hadits aspect such as wurud aspect, dalalah aspect, and comprehensive aspect. This paper will elaborate on how the urgency of Sirah Nabawiyah for understanding the hadits through three aspects.Through this study of literature was found few things. First, the urgency of Sirah Nabawiyah in uNabawiyah in understanding Prophetic Hadits can be seen through three problems of understanding hadits such as wurud problem, dalalah problem and comprehensive problem. In the wurud problem of Prophetic hadits, the urgency of Sirah Nabawiyah shown as one of the benchmark of matan criticism in its position.In the dalalah problem of prophetic hadits, the urgency of Sirah Nabawiyah shown in its position as a provider of data of contextual hadits which is more extensive than Asbab al-Wurud al-Khassah and also clearer and more valid than Asbab al-Wurud al-‘Amma. Thus, Sirah Nabawiyah is a solution to the drawbacks faced by Asbab al-Wurud al-Khassah and Asbab al-Wurud al-‘Ammah. In the comprehensive problem of prophetic hadits, the urgency of Sirah Nabawiyah shown in its position as a partner for the prophetic hadits in providing complete data about the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This is reflected in three ways such as Sirah Nabawiyah provides data that has not been included in the collection of prophetic hadits (al-Ziyadah), fulfills the incomplete material presented in the collection of prophetic hadits (at-Takmil) and explores the material systematically.

Abstract

The number of orphans has increased dramatically due to the coronavirus pandemic as an ongoing global pandemic. Yet, the treatment of orphans is still far from what is expected while orphans need a party who can stand in for their socio-psychological needs. The proper treatment of orphans has a positive impact on the continuity of the orphans themselves. It is crucial to note that the verses of the Quran draw attention to the treatment of orphans. In most cases, children who were fatherless had more negative tendencies than others. In this paper, a variety of treatments for orphans are shown using thematic methods by summarizing the verses of the Quran that contain the meaning of orphans at one time. it was revealed that the word orphan occurs 9 times in the singular and 13 times in the plural. From the study of 22 terms for orphans and their derivatives, it was found that treatment of orphans can be carried out in groups or individually with the aim of improving the condition of orphans both in terms of their physical and psychological needs. The treatment of orphans is not only to satisfy consumption needs but also to impart skills so that the orphans can be productive, independent, and responsible. On the other hand, caregivers are sincere and trustworthy when treating orphans.

Abstract

The study of the Koran's stories focused on the excavation of its historical aspect. This was done to prove the existence of such narratives in the Koran as historical facts that happened. On the other hand, it is often the precautionary care of the story, even to be neglected. Mutawalli al-Sya'rawi came by offering insight into the story in the Koran, not only by digging out its heart, but also creating a similar story in every place and time. The study USES a descriptive approach. The things accredited by al-Sya'rawi is written in the code that doesn't give the character's real name, and that story will be repeated everywhere and every time. Like pharaoh that zalim, dictator, and raised himself. So did the dzulqarnain, who is good and empowering the weak. The personages of these two characters will continue to exist in life, wherever and wherever.

Abstract

This paper aims to formulate the application of the coherence method known in philosophy to the matan criticism. This formulation is important for several reasons. First, the science of hadith as one of the Islamic sciences has been dominated by awareness of its normative dimensions compared to the dimensions of its historicity. Second, in addition to differences there are similarities between the coherence method and the matan criticism, namely in terms of seeking the truth by relying on certain standard.The application of the coherence method in this matan criticism is carried out in three main steps. First, determining the criteria for religious truth that will be used as benchmarks. In this case, the criteria of truth chosen are contemporary maqashid al-sharia, especially in the perspective of Jasser Audah. Second, mapping the theme of the hadith being studied, to facilitate synchronization with the selected criteria of truth. Third, interpreting the hadith that is being studied based on Ulumul Hadith in general and ‘Ilm Ma’ani al-Hadith in particular, by utilizing the latest theories from the sciences related to the hadith being studied.The implications of applying this method can at least be seen through two things, which are at the same time the goal of the formulation of this method. First, the reduction of the awareness domination of the normative dimension in matan criticism. This will have an impact on increasing awareness of the dimensions of historicity and humanity in matan criticism and is expected to contribute to the reduction of exclusive and radical attitudes.
