Abstract

The number of orphans has increased dramatically due to the coronavirus pandemic as an ongoing global pandemic. Yet, the treatment of orphans is still far from what is expected while orphans need a party who can stand in for their socio-psychological needs. The proper treatment of orphans has a positive impact on the continuity of the orphans themselves. It is crucial to note that the verses of the Quran draw attention to the treatment of orphans. In most cases, children who were fatherless had more negative tendencies than others. In this paper, a variety of treatments for orphans are shown using thematic methods by summarizing the verses of the Quran that contain the meaning of orphans at one time. it was revealed that the word orphan occurs 9 times in the singular and 13 times in the plural. From the study of 22 terms for orphans and their derivatives, it was found that treatment of orphans can be carried out in groups or individually with the aim of improving the condition of orphans both in terms of their physical and psychological needs. The treatment of orphans is not only to satisfy consumption needs but also to impart skills so that the orphans can be productive, independent, and responsible. On the other hand, caregivers are sincere and trustworthy when treating orphans.

Abstract

This study examines the hadiths describing the final moments of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) life through the application of isnād (chain) and matn (text) criticism, with particular focus on the differing narrations transmitted by ‘Ā’ishah bint Abī Bakr and ‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib. The research specifically aims to determine how matn criticism can be used to evaluate the historical reliability and interpretive implications of these narrations concerning the Prophet’s final moments. Employing a qualitative library-based approach and descriptive-comparative analysis, the study examines narrations found in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Ṭabaqāt Ibn Sa‘d, and Durrah an-Nāṣiḥīn fī al-Wa‘ẓ wa al-Irshād, alongside theoretical perspectives from Dirāsāt fī al-Ḥadīth wa al-Tārīkh and Manhaj Kritik Matan ‘Ā’isyah RA. The analysis evaluates the continuity of transmission, reliability of narrators, textual consistency with the Qur’an and authentic hadiths, and the historical coherence of each narration. The findings reveal that the narration transmitted by ‘Ā’ishah bint Abī Bakr regarding the Prophet’s passing in her embrace is the strongest and most historically reliable narration, classified as ṣaḥīḥ li dhātihi. In contrast, narrations attributed to ‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib and Ibn ‘Abbās are categorized as weak (ḍa‘īf) or disconnected (maqṭū‘) due to deficiencies in transmission, although they continue to hold spiritual and moral significance. The study concludes that matn criticism plays a crucial role in distinguishing between historically authoritative reports and narrations functioning primarily as moral or devotional traditions, thereby contributing to a more objective understanding of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) death.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need to address an empirical void concerning the integration of hadith-derived values into the cultivation of psychological autonomy within humanistic counselling, particularly to respond to maladaptive dependencies such as drug abuse. The research adopts a qualitative literature-based design. The corpus of authenticated hadith was hermeneutically interpreted and triangulated with contemporary counselling scholarship to derive operational indicators of autonomy. Analysis revealed two primary mechanisms: the construction of religious meaning that bolsters intrinsic motivation, and the activation of emotion-regulation techniques through ritual practices, such as dhikr (asking for forgiveness) and patience training, as adaptive coping strategies. Based on these findings, the study formulates three operational indicators, affective regulation, authentic decision-making, and moral responsibility, that can be translated into psychometric items and intervention modules. In conclusion, integrating hadith offers a values-grounded framework and practical techniques that enrich humanistic counselling while remaining culturally resonant. Recommendations address researchers in developing and validating measurement instruments; clinicians in adapting intervention modules with cultural competence; and policymakers in supporting controlled trials of evidence-based, culturally tailored interventions. The study also emphasises content validation by hadith scholars and counselling experts, rigorous psychometric testing, pilot-controlled evaluations, and standardised training for Muslim counsellors to ensure ethical implementation and ongoing monitoring.

Abstract

The spread of intolerance and radicalism among adolescents has made the internalization of religious moderation increasingly urgent for basic and secondary education. This study examines the ḥadīth content of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching materials used in parallel at SMP Islam Al-Azhar 29 Semarang and its implications for cultivating moderation, viewed through a psychological lens. Through a qualitative content analysis and comparative reading of the two sets of materials, those of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and those of the Al-Azhar Islamic Education Foundation (YPI Al-Azhar), the study classifies ḥadīth content into four fields (creed, jurisprudence, Islamic history and culture, and ethics) and assesses the strength of its implications for moderation. Three findings emerge. First, both sets present ḥadīths in two modes, explicit (with Arabic text, translation, and source) and implicit (paraphrase or attribution without them). Second, the Ministry materials show greater moderation potential by number of chapters, the YPI Al-Azhar materials by number of ethics-related ḥadīths. Third, the Ministry materials emphasize the social dimension of moderation, while the YPI Al-Azhar materials emphasize its ritual dimension. The two sets are therefore complementary, and their use is best reinforced by a psychological-pedagogical approach: experiential learning, modeling and habituation, and emotion regulation.
