Abstract

Background: Early sports specialization is often driven by the pursuit of achieving elite performance levels at younger ages. However, growing concerns have emerged regarding the potential negative consequences of this specialization, particularly the increased risk of injuries and the potential for psychological burnout among young athletes. Purpose: The primary purpose of this study is to systematically review the current body of literature to assess the impact of early sports specialization on the risk of injury in young athletes. Method: A systematic literature search was conducted utilizing the Sage and PubMed databases to identify relevant studies published between 2019 and 2025.  To maintain a focus on youth athletes in competitive or elite settings, studies that centered on recreational athletes were excluded from the analysis. Result: Early sports specialization is associated with a higher risk of injury among young athletes. This increased risk particularly applies to overuse injuries, such as stress fractures, tendinopathies, and joint issues, and psychological burnout. Conversely, athletes who engaged in multiple sports throughout their developmental years demonstrated a significantly lower risk of injury and reported higher levels of enjoyment and motivation in their chosen sports. Implications and Recommendation: Importance of re-evaluating current practices in youth athletic development programs. Sports organizations, coaches, and parents should exercise caution in promoting early specialization among young athletes and instead support a more balanced approach to youth training. Delaying specialization until after puberty and encouraging participation in multiple sports can enhance motor skill development and reduce the risk of injuries.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between self-efficacy and mental toughness with futsal athlete performance through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). From 15 scientific articles analyzed, it was found that self-efficacy, a player's belief in their own abilities, plays a crucial role in improving motivation, decision-making, and persistence during matches. Meanwhile, mental toughness helps athletes manage stress, recover from failure, and maintain focus amidst the fast-paced and intense dynamics of futsal play. The interaction between the two strengthens a player's ability to perform optimally in stressful competitive situations. This study emphasizes the importance of developing psychological training programs that integrate self-efficacy and mental toughness to maximize futsal athlete performance. Furthermore, further research is needed to examine the influence of these psychological variables across different cultural contexts, genders, and levels of competition.

Indicators that influence the intrinsic factor are morale, competition experience, negative thoughts, and complacent thoughts. While the extrinsic factor is in the high category of 87.27%, because the extrinsic factor is a factor that exists outside the athlete so that anxiety can occur at any time beyond the athlete's expectations. Indicators that influence the extrinsic factor are coaches, spectators, opponents, referees, and facilities. While the results for the level of self-confidence of badminton athletes before competing are influenced by intrinsic factors with a percentage of 85.45%. For the results of the low extrinsic factor analysis with a percentage of 70.90%. This means that the level of self-confidence of badminton athletes before competing is influenced by intrinsic factors

Abstract

Tests and Measurements, is an integral part of various human activities, as well as in sports training activities. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The population that the researchers determined was in regional training center athletes in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Sampling techniques are carried out by purposive random sampling, namely athletes who enter the regional training center in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, so that a number of 106 athletes are obtained. The instrument used to collect the research data used the triple hop test to determine the athlete's ability level. The data in quantitative research obtained from respondents is tabulated then calculated the percentage, and then analyzed. The instrument used to collect the research data used the triple hop test to determine the athlete's ability level. The data in quantitative research obtained from respondents is tabulated then calculated the percentage, and then analyzed. The results, it can be argued that the average level of the level of triple hop ability of regional training center athletes during the periodization of competition is in the less category for each category of men and women. Therefore, it is necessary to provide special evaluation and treatment.

Abstract

Learning carried out through limited face-to-face learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has been determined according to government regulations to increase the effectiveness of student learning in physical education learning. The purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of physical education learning during the Limited Face To Face Physical Education (PTMT) period in the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The instrument was used through a questionnaire distributed to the sample, namely physical education teachers at SMPN Metro Lampung, totalling 26. The sample selection of the research was purposive technique because the sample was selected from schools that had already implemented limited face to face in physical education learning. The validity of the instrument with a validity value of 0.693, then the reliability value in this study was 0.935. The study results revealed that if the teaching hours applied by limited face to face physical education have reduced teaching hours. Then for infrastructure, indicators and learning applications are included in the sufficient category, and the best learning model used in limited face to face is individual learning. The results are expected to become a reference for the application of limited face to face physical education so that the results obtained are maximal.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) the effect of rubber training on Kisame Tsuki's punches; (2) increase in Kisame Tsuki's punch speed. The design of this research is quantitative using a Two Group Pretest Posttest design, namely an experimental design carried out on two different groups, namely the rubber group and the control group. The population of this study were senior athletes aged 21 years and over. The sample for this study was 14 kumite athletes taken using a random sampling technique. The data analysis technique used was the Independent Sample T-test with a significance level of ? = 0.05. The research results are as follows. (1) There is an influence of rubber training on Kisame Tsuki Sig's punches. (2-tailed) (0.004) < 0.05 and also the calculated t value (3.613) > t table (2.447); (2) There was a significant increase in Kisame Tsuki's punch speed as seen from the rubber group's gain score of 0.49, which means there was a moderate increase. So training using rubber tools has an influence in increasing the speed of Kisame Tsuki's punches in UNJ Student Karate athletes.
