Abstract

This study aims to improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes of geometry material by applying problem-based learning. This research is a type of classroom action research with the John Elliot model with four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection, which is carried out in two cycles. The data obtained were obtained from instruments in the form of an assessment rubric for critical thinking skills and tests to determine student learning outcomes on geometry material. The subjects in this study were class VII students of SMP Rewarangga Ende, totalling 20 people. Technical analysis of the data using a comparative descriptive technique between cycles. The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills from the initial conditions, cycle 1, and cycle 2. In the initial condition the level of critical thinking skills in the critical category was only 43%, in cycle 1 76%, and in cycle 2 increased to 97%; (2) student learning outcomes of geometry material also increased. In the initial condition, only 42% of students experienced completeness, in cycle 1 it increased to 51% of students who completed, and in cycle 2 it increased to 68%.

Abstract

Learning mathematics must be related to the real context of everyday life. Contextual learning is learning within the context of everyday life, ethnomathematics is the knowledge that links mathematics with cultural elements, and ethnomathematics is the concept of knowledge about the development of mathematics in various cultures. This study aims to improve students' activities and learning outcomes through ethnomathematical-based contextual learning in terms of students' mathematical abilities. This type of research is classroom action research with four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, a reflection which is carried out in two cycles. Data were obtained from instruments in the form of rubrics for assessing students' mathematical abilities and tests to determine student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Ende Selatan, totaling 20 people. The data analysis technique used a comparative descriptive technique between cycles. The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in students' mathematical abilities from the initial conditions, cycle 1, and cycle 2. In the initial conditions students' mathematical abilities averaged 48%, with the implementation of the model in cycle 1 65%, and in cycle 2 80 %. (2) student learning outcomes have also increased. In the initial condition, only 37% of students experienced completeness, in cycle 1 it increased to 65% of students who completed, and in cycle 2 it increased to 86%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the level of student thinking based on gender differences by exploring students 'geometrical thinking abilities and creating learning examples to improve students' level of thinking. While the differences in mathematical abilities are high, medium and low mathematical abilities. This type of research is exploratory research using a naturalistic qualitative approach, by taking 3 male students and 3 female students as research subjects which are then grouped based on mathematical abilities. The results of each activity are analyzed and the level of thinking of each research subject is determined. All subjects still ignored class inclusion of quadrilateral shapes even though they were able to distinguish geometric shapes based on the properties of the components. the sequence of learning phases revealed by van Hiele, namely: (1) Information Phase (Information), (2) Guided Orientation Phase, (3) Explicitation Phase, (4) Free Orientation Phase Orientation), and (5) Integration Phase. The results obtained are that both male and female students are at the level of thinking 1. It is different from the difference in students' level of thinking when viewed from their mathematical abilities. For students who are in the high and medium grades, all students are at level 1 thinking, whereas in the low value group only one student is at level 1 thinking and the others are at level 0 thinking. While the learning examples made are Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) and Student Worksheets (LKS) are made with the hope of increasing the level of van Hiele students' geometry thinking from level 1 to level 2.

Abstract

Intuisi aktivitas merupakan proses interaksi berpikir yang berhubungan dengan perlakuan siswa secara spontan dalam situasi pembelajaran. Berpikir spontan dapat dilakukan dengan dua cara yaitu spontan yang munculnya tiba-tiba saat seseorang memahami masalah dan spontan yang munculnya berdasarkan pengalaman masa lalu dari orang tersebut. Intuisi berkaitan erat dengan interaksi, intuisi akan terlihat disaat adanya interaksi seseorang dengan orang lain atau dengan sesuatu yang lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mningkatkan aktivitas interaksi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model interaksi Leikin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian mix-method melalui desain perangkat model pembelajaran interaksi Leikin, pada penelitian ini digunakan analisis deskriptif untuk mengetahui intuisi interaksi. Interaksi dalam penelitian ini adalah aktifitas yang terjadi dalam hubungan kebutuhan pada proses pembelajaran, yaitu hubungan antara guru dengan siswa, siswa dengan guru, siswa dengan siswa dan siswa dengan sumber belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Aktifitas guru dalam menjalankan pembelajaran tinggi dari hasil validasi yaitu dengan nilai rata-rata 3,58 terletak pada kriteria tinggi. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dilihat dari aktifitas siswa mencapai nilai rata-rata 74,16%, maka indikator respon terletak pada kriteria Positif.

Abstract

Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) merupakan desain lanjutan dari penerapan kurikulum program studi berbasis Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia (KKNI). Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka ini terdapat suatu inovasi belajar sehingga dapat menghasilkaan mahasiswa yang inovatif, kreatif dan sekaligus dapat mengembangkan potensi dirinya dalam bidang yang dipilih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui dampak dan persepsi penerapan Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka di perguruan tinggi swasta; survey pada Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Flores Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data diperoleh dari populasi yang berjumlah 156 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Flores. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Teknik analisis data dimulai dari pengumpulan data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian survey ini menunjukan bahwa mahasiswa pada program studi pendidikan matematika, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Flores memberikan respon yang positif terhadap program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) dan sudah menyiapkan diri untuk mengikuti kegiatan MBKM khususnya program asistensi mengajar di satuan pendidikan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi konsep matematika pada pola lantai pada formasi tarian tea eku. Penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Instrument yang digunakan adalah wawancara, obsevasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang dieroleh melalui wawancara dan observasi dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis yang dipaparkan oleh Miles & Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data (data display), penarikan kesimpulan atau verivikasi. Berdasarkan kajian terhadap tarian tea eku diperoleh beberapa formasi yaitu jarak, garis, segitiga samakaki, lingkaran, persegi panjang, layang-layang. Formasi-formasi tersebut dapat terbentuk dari banyak jumlahnya penari.  Dalam formasi tersebut ada pola lantai yang membentuk bangun geometri dan bangun datar seperti titik, garis lurus, sudut, jajar genjang, dan segitiga sama sisi.

Abstract

The process of learning mathematics still uses conventional methods where the teacher dominates the learning process, so still experience learning difficulties, especially understanding concepts and mastery of geometry which causes learning outcomes to decline. This causes students to be passive and only accept the teacher's explanation in other words students are not directed to think to find solutions to the problems at hand. Problem-based learning is learning that makes students active and can find their concepts and be more effective. In addition to problem-based learning. learning must use media that support a more effective teaching and learning process. The use of teaching aids is very influential on the success of the teaching and learning process. The type of this research is experimental research and quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP Rewarangga while the sample was taken by random sampling totaling 14 students. The data analysis technique used Covariance Analysis (ANACOVA). The learning device meets the requirements of validity, and good sensitivity reliability. The learning tools include Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKS), and Learning Outcomes Test (THB). Based on the results of Anacova with homogeneity test, from the calculations obtained F count = 1.0787 and F table¬ with a significance level of 5% = 1.98, so F count < F table causes to accept H0 and reject H1 which shows the variance of the two samples is homogeneous. This shows that problem-based learning assisted by teaching aids can improve student learning outcomes for geometry material.

Abstract

The surrounding culture can be used as teaching material in mathematics. Culture-based mathematics learning is called ethnomathematics. One form of culture of the people of Rapowawo Village. This study aims to explore and obtain information about mathematical concepts and mathematical elements contained in woven mats in Rapowawo Village, Nangapanda District, Ende Regency. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data was obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The data validity technique used is a triangulation of data sources. The results of this study indicate that the woven mats in Rapowawo Village contain mathematical concepts and elements. Mathematical concepts contained in woven mats in Rapowawo Village, Nangapanda District, Ende Regency, namely geometric concepts including; points, lines, angles, and plane figures as well as equivalent ratios and arithmetic sequences. This study only examines the procedures and results of woven mats in Rapowawo Village, Nangapanda District, Ende Regency, then it is recommended to make teaching materials so that they can be applied to learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the thinking process of students with high, medium and low abilities in solving mathematical problems in the Material of a Two-variable Linear Equation System using Polya theory for class VIII SMP Bina Kusuma in the academic year 2022/2023. Each student has different abilities so the teacher can choose a variety of learning methods according to the student's ability level. The approach used is a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 6 students of class VIII SMP Bina Kusuma Ruteng. Data collection in this study was carried out through tests, interviews and documentation with the research instruments, namely the first-semester report cards of mathematical abilities, problem-solving tests and interviews. The data analysis used is the data analysis model of Miles and Huberman, namely, data collection, data reduction, data presentation and concluding. The results of the analysis of research data show that conceptual thinking processes are only owned by students with high mathematical abilities, while semi-conceptual thinking processes only occur in students with moderate mathematical abilities, and computational thinking processes only occur in students with low mathematical abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the types of mistakes made by students based on their respective abilities. The research method used is qualitative. The research was conducted at SMA Widya Bhakti, with 6 subjects in class XI MIA. The instrument used was first-semester report card grades for math skills, problem-solving tests and interviews. The data collection technique comes from the answers to written tests and the results of student interviews. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively with the steps of data reduction, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study can be used as an effort to improve students' abilities in solving contextual problems in the material of arithmetic sequences. Based on the research results, information was obtained that there were causes of student errors in solving contextual questions based on students' mathematical abilities. One factor that causes high-ability student errors is careless mistakes. Factors causing the errors of students with moderate abilities are errors in reading instructions in questions, conceptual errors, conceptual errors and errors during tests. Causative factors Factors that cause low-ability students' errors are errors in reading instructions, careless errors, application errors, conceptual errors, test errors, and learning errors.
