Abstract

This research was motivated by class VII students who were not yet able to perform basic theater acting techniques, especially in sports, so that when performing theater performances they were not optimal. So the researcher formulated the problem of how to learn the basic techniques of theater acting in taste through innovative learning strategies for class VII students at SMP Negeri 6 Boliyohuto. In implementing the learning of basic acting techniques in taste, researchers used innovative learning strategies. This strategy is to facilitate students in building their own knowledge in the context of a process of changing behavior towards a better one according to their individual potential. This research uses qualitative methods which are descriptive analysis. The data collection technique used is through a process of observation, interviews and documentation which will later be presented in the form of a research description. This learning was carried out within 2 months or 8 meetings. The sample that the researchers used was class VIII of SMP Negeri 6 Boliyohuto, totaling 16 students. Based on the results obtained from this research, it can be said to be successful. learning basic theater acting techniques in taste through innovative learning strategies for class VII students at SMP Negeri 6 Boliyohuto makes students more creative, innovative and active from the experiences they gain by studying outside the classroom and in the living environment around the students. From this experience, students are more active and diligent in studying than before.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran memainkan alat musik polopalo melalui metode drill pada siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 1 Tilamuta. Dalam proses pembelajaran, diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang dapat membantu memudahkan ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini berangakat dari adanya permasalahan  yang didalam kelas musik khusnya pada polopalo tradisional. Dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran musik tradisional penelitian ini merupakan pembelajaran memainkan alat musik polopalo pada siswa kelas VIII, peneliti menggunakan metode drill, yaitu metode yang menekankan pada latihan yang berulang-ulang secara terus menerus, untuk menguasai kemampuan atau keterampilan tertentu. Untuk dapat menguasai teknik bermain polopalo yang merupakan alat musik bersifat perkusi melodis, siswa harus dapat menguasai pemahaman tentang tinggi rendahnya nada, ritme, dinamika, tempo, hingga akor dan harmoni. Dari 9 peserta didik yang menjadi sampel dalam praktek memainkan polopalo ini, 5 orang peserta didik mendapatkan perolehan A dengan rentang skor 91-100, dan 4 orang peserta didik lainya mendapatperolehan kategori B  dengan rentang skor 83-90. Dari hasil teakhir tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran polopalo melalui metode drill pada siswa kelas VIII dapat memaksimalkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran musik tradisional polopalo.

Abstract

Paradigma pendidikan seni di era digital berkembang pesat, menghadirkan peluang dan tantangan baru bagi pendidik dan mahasiswa. Dengan memanfaatkan teknologi sambil melestarikan praktik seni tradisional, pendidik dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kaya dan dinamis yang membekali siswa dengan keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang dibutuhkan untuk berkembang di dunia yang semakin digital. Penting bagi para pemangku kepentingan dalam komunitas seni untuk beradaptasi dengan perubahan ini dan memanfaatkan potensi teknologi untuk meningkatkan ekspresi artistik dan kreativitas. Dalam menavigasi perubahan paradigma dalam pendidikan seni, penting untuk mencapai keseimbangan antara praktik seni tradisional dan alat digital inovatif. Dengan mengintegrasikan kedua pendekatan tersebut, pendidik dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar dinamis yang menumbuhkan kreativitas, pemikiran kritis, dan kemahiran teknis.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the Saronde dance skills of fifth-grade students at SDN No. 67 Kota Timur, Gorontalo City through the application of the drill method. The background of this research stems from the low level of students’ ability to perform the Saronde dance in terms of technique, expression, and mastery of movements. Therefore, a learning method that can effectively and sustainably enhance students’ dance skills is needed. The drill method was chosen because it provides repeated practice that reinforces movement mastery. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 20 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and performance assessments based on established competency indicators.In the initial observation, only 6 students (30%) met the performance indicators. After the first cycle, the number increased to 7 students (35%). However, this result did not meet the success criteria of 75%, necessitating a second cycle of intervention. In the second cycle, a significant improvement was observed, with 18 students (90%) achieving the performance indicators. This result exceeds the predetermined success criteria and demonstrates that the drill method is effective in enhancing students' Saronde dance skills, particularly in movement accuracy, expression, and synchronization. Through repeated practice, students became more confident and were able to perform the dance more proficiently.In conclusion, the implementation of the drill method proved successful in improving the Saronde dance skills of fifth-grade students at SDN No. 67 Kota Timur, Gorontalo City. It is hoped that this research can serve as a reference for developing dance education in elementary schools. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan seni tari Saronde pada siswa kelas V SDN No. 67 Kota Timur, Kota Gorontalo melalui penerapan metode drill. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menarikan tari Saronde, baik dari segi teknik, ekspresi, maupun penguasaan gerakan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan keterampilan siswa secara efektif dan berkelanjutan. Metode drill dipilih karena mampu memberikan latihan berulang yang dapat memperkuat penguasaan gerak tari. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah 20 siswa kelas V. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan penilaian kinerja siswa berdasarkan indikator ketercapaian kompetensi. Pada observasi awal, hanya 6 siswa (30%) yang mencapai indikator kinerja yang telah ditetapkan. Setelah tindakan pada siklus I, jumlah siswa yang memenuhi indikator meningkat menjadi 7 siswa (35%). Namun, hasil ini belum memenuhi indikator keberhasilan tindakan yang ditetapkan, yaitu 75%, sehingga dilakukan tindakan lanjutan pada siklus II. Pada siklus II, terjadi peningkatan signifikan. Sebanyak 18 siswa (90%) berhasil mencapai indikator kinerja, yang berarti telah melampaui kriteria keberhasilan yang ditentukan. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa metode drill efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan seni tari Saronde siswa, terutama dalam hal ketepatan gerakan, ekspresi, dan kekompakan. Dengan latihan yang berulang, siswa menjadi lebih percaya diri dan mampu menampilkan tarian dengan lebih baik. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode drill terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan seni tari Saronde pada siswa kelas V di SDN No. 67 Kota Timur Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi dalam pengembangan pembelajaran seni tari di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the process of teaching voice acting techniques in theater art through the Project-Based Learning strategy for Class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Biau.The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include observation,interview,and documentation. The findings indicate that implementing the “Teaching Basic Voice Acting Techniques in Theater Art Using Project-Based Learning Strategy for Class IX Students at SMP Negeri 1 Biau”was successful,achieving a success rate of 83.3%. The researcher concluded that the study was successful based on two considerations: first,both student groups could perform the theater scripts,although one group was less optimal;second,several students achieved good or Dere-than-satisfactory results,with satisfactory performance scores.Using the ffroiceeBased Learning strategy proved effective in the implementation of teaghoge mie,ciieluding the design and execution of performances.

Abstract

This research is motivated by field issues, particularly the continued use of one-way (lecture-based) teaching methods by educators, who predominantly rely on theoretical explanations from printed textbooks rather than engaging in practical activities. Furthermore, educators have not fully optimized the integration of digital media in the learning process, resulting in low student motivation and interest in learning dance. Meanwhile, based on the expected learning outcomes, students are required to create simple, creative dance performances according to their individual potential. This research aims to implement the digital learning media Wordwall, which can assist teachers in the teaching process while enhancing the understanding and learning motivation of Grade X students at SMKS Pariwisata Bubohu. Delivering material through lectures based on printed textbooks is considered ineffective in improving student’s understanding and experience in dance creation. The research employs a mixed methods approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and research instruments. The research subjects included individuals associated with the implementation of this research: the principal, arts and culture teacher, Grade X students of SMKS Pariwisata Bubohu, and lecturers from Universitas Negeri Gorontalo with expertise and interest in the fields of dance and language. This research employs the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research was carried out through several stages: needs analysis, media design of Wordwall, expert validation, classroom implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the Wordwall learning media was highly valid for use, with validation scores of 92.5 from material experts, 90 from language experts, and 97.22 from educational media experts. The classroom implementation also showed an increase in understanding and learning interest, as seen in the teacher’s pretest-posttest results: the pretest yielded a score of -1.42 (indicating a decline), while the posttest yielded a score of 0.90 (high). Moreover, students’ responses to the Wordwall media were very positive, with final results categorized as “Very interesting/no revision needed.” This media has proven to enhance student’s comprehension and motivation, as well as support teachers in optimizing the learning process. The research also demonstrated that the ADDIE approach is an effective framework for developing learning media.

Abstract

This study was conducted due to the beauty of one of Gorontalo’s traditional art forms. The type of art referred to is tidi, meaning “dance.” Among the eight types of tidi in Gorontalo, Tidi Lo Bitu’o stands out as particularly captivating. This study addresses two main problems: identifying the components of Tidi Lo Bitu’o and examining how its structure conveys aesthetic value. The study employed a qualitative case study approach, focusing on analyzing the dance performances of the Tumula Studio dancers, using Janet Adshead’s theoretical framework as presented in Riana Diah Sitharesmi’s book, alongside A.A.M. Djelantik’s theory of aesthetics. The study aims to describe Tidi Lo Bitu’o’s components and interpret the aesthetic values embodied within its structure. The findings reveal that the components of Tidi Lo Bitu’o include movements, dancers, visual set elements (stage setting, lighting, costumes, facial makeup, hair styling, and props), and aural elements in the form of accompanying music, featuring lyrics sung in the Gorontalo language accompanied by rebana and koloko’o instruments. Regarding aesthetic values based on A.A.M. Djelantik’s framework, three key aspects were identified: unity, demonstrated through the relationship among movements, dancers, visual set, and aural elements; emphasis, found in the opening sequence through the music, dancers with salenthangi props, and the core section where the bitu’o prop is actively used along with the music; and balance or harmony, observed through the blending elements of Tidi Lo Bitu’o and the relationship between the two props used, salenthangi and senthangi.

Abstract

The Cakalele dance is a traditional war dance originating from Maluku Province. In the inauguration ceremony of the village head, the Cakalele dance is performed as the fourth sequence in the traditional ritual procession. In the Buru tribal language, the village head is called “Kepala Soa.” This study aims to explain the process of the Kepala Soa’s inauguration and to describe the presentation form of the Buru Tribe’s Cakalele dance during this event in Maluku Province. The Cakalele performed at the inauguration ceremony is classified as a ritual dance. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and direct observation of the presentation form of the Cakalele dance during the Kepala Soa’s inauguration, which was documented through photographs and video recordings. The analysis results show that the Cakalele dance is performed by two male dancers who must meet specific requirements: they must be members of the Buru tribe, married, have previously performed the Cakalele dance, and be physically and mentally healthy. The costume worn consists of a “lenso” (scarf), a plain black shirt and pants, and a red cloth (merat). The Cakalele dance comprises three primary movement motifs and is accompanied by the traditional Tifa drum. The main property in the dance is the Pattimura sword. The performance takes place in the front yard of the Oki Baru Village Office.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of applying the Direct Instruction learning model in teaching musical accompaniment for the Kabela dance at SMA Negeri 2 Kotamobagu. The focus of the research is to determine the extent to which this model can improve students’ skills in playing musical instruments for dance accompaniment and to identify the challenges encountered during the learning process. This research employed a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The subjects of the study were students involved in learning musical accompaniment for the dance at the school. The results showed that the implementation of the Direct Instruction model significantly helped students understand and play accompanying musical instruments, such as the flute, tambourine, and gong. Systematic learning through the stages of introduction, material presentation, guided practice, independent practice, and evaluation made it easier for students to understand the rhythm and tempo patterns of the Kabela dance accompaniment. The main challenges found in this study were students’ difficulties in synchronizing tempo in group performances and their lack of prior experience in playing traditional musical instruments. However, these challenges could be minimized through regular practice and intensive guidance from the teacher during the learning process. In conclusion, the study finds that the Direct Instruction learning model is effective in improving students’ skills in playing musical accompaniment for the Kabela dance. This model can serve as an alternative method in music education at schools to enhance students’ understanding and skills in a systematic and structured way.

Abstract

Fine arts learning in elementary schools often faces obstacles in fostering student creativity, as found at SDN 7 Tapa, Bone Bolango Regency, which showed the low ability of fourth-grade students in creating 3-dimensional artworks due to the lack of variety in teaching methods and technical understanding. This study aims to address this problem by improving student creativity through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. Using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, this study involved 18 students as research subjects carried out in two cycles, including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out comprehensively through observation, interviews, performance tests, and documentation. The research findings showed a significant and consistent trend of increasing results; in cycle I, the percentage of students who were able to create increased from 6% in the first meeting to 33% in the second meeting. A more optimal increase was recorded in cycle II, where the success rate moved from 67% to finally reaching 78% in the final meeting. This achievement has clearly exceeded the established success indicators, so it can be concluded that the implementation of the PjBL model has proven effective in facilitating students to explore ideas and improve their technical skills and creativity in producing 3-dimensional works of art. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran seni rupa di sekolah dasar seringkali menghadapi kendala dalam menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa, sebagaimana temuan di SDN 7 Tapa Kabupaten Bone Bolango yang menunjukkan rendahnya kemampuan siswa kelas IV dalam membuat karya seni 3 dimensi akibat minimnya variasi metode pengajaran dan pemahaman teknik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan meningkatkan kreativitas siswa melalui implementasi model Project Based Learning (PjBL). Menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), studi ini melibatkan 18 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara komprehensif melalui observasi, wawancara, tes kinerja, dan dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya tren peningkatan hasil yang signifikan dan konsisten; pada siklus I, persentase siswa yang mampu berkreasi meningkat dari 6% pada pertemuan pertama menjadi 33% pada pertemuan kedua. Peningkatan yang lebih optimal tercatat pada siklus II, di mana tingkat keberhasilan bergerak dari 67% hingga akhirnya mencapai 78% pada pertemuan terakhir. Capaian ini secara nyata telah melampaui indikator keberhasilan yang ditetapkan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PjBL terbukti efektif dalam memfasilitasi siswa untuk mengeksplorasi ide dan meningkatkan keterampilan teknis serta kreativitas mereka dalam menghasilkan karya seni 3 dimensi.
