Abstract

A visitor monitoring and counting device is a tool designed to send information in the form of images and the number of visitors detected through a camera and sensors installed on the device. This device is based on the Telegram application using the ESP32-CAM module as the camera to capture images of each incoming visitor. The device is equipped with an infrared sensor used to detect incoming visitors. The device works by counting the number of visitors when they enter, and then sending a signal to the ESP32-CAM to capture a physical image as evidence. The data from the device's operation is sent through the Telegram application. The research results show that the device functions well at a distance of 60 cm, but it does not function properly at a distance of 90 cm. The average time required for the device to send an image to the application is 2.5 seconds. The fastest time required by the system to read data between one visitor and the next is 15,4 seconds.

Abstract

The issue of incorrect material usage in the industry's production process is a primary focus for quality control, as it directly impacts customers. This research was conducted due to challenges in maintaining the continuity of the manual cable selection process. Currently, cable selection involves choosing cables stored in various boxes with different specifications. Therefore, a system is needed to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the cable selection process. The approach used to address this issue involves developing a user interface for input, which is processed using a Raspberry Pi 4 connected to a servo motor that functions as the opener and closer of the cable storage boxes. The interface includes a login menu, a control menu, and a menu that allows users to add their own data. Additionally, the PCA9685 driver module is connected to the Raspberry Pi 4 to control 66 servo motors. The results of this research enhance the cable selection process by increasing its effectiveness and efficiency, as shown by a tool utilization effectiveness rate of 80.4%.

Abstract

Obesity is a global issue with rising prevalence each year, driven partly by excess nutrient and calorie intake. Identifying nutrient content in food is vital to prevent obesity. This research employs image processing, specifically the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm, to classify and identify fruits and vegetables quickly and accurately. YOLO is advantageous for its speed and ability to classify multiple objects simultaneously. The goal is to develop a system that recognizes, classifies, and predicts the weight of fruits and vegetables, providing nutritional and calorie information. Tests showed that the system accurately detects produce under various lighting conditions—achieving 100% accuracy with additional ring light (600–650 lux) and 99.2% without extra lighting. Beyond object detection, the system predicts weight with an average error of 5.6% when illuminated. This technology has the potential to aid users in monitoring nutritional intake by providing reliable identification and calorie data, contributing to obesity prevention efforts.

Abstract

A pressure vessel is a container designed to hold fluids under pressure, including liquids and gases with varying pressures and temperatures. The pressure exerted on the vessel's walls and body is a critical factor that must be carefully considered to ensure compliance with applicable international design standards and prioritize worker safety and security. This research focused on a pressure vessel to investigate the impact of temperature on shell thickness to meet ASME standards. The study utilized shell components made from SA-516 Gr 70 and SA-537 materials. Experiments were conducted with each material at temperatures of 250°C, 235°C, and 343°C, revealing that thickness varies based on material and temperature. The research findings demonstrate compliance with ASME standards, as the shell thickness in all trials exceeded the minimum specified in the drawings.

Abstract

Abstract

This study presents the development and implementation of an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) system for material delivery in a final assembly environment. The AMR replaces conventional transport methods by autonomously moving trolleys between the warehouse, production stations, and recycling areas, thereby reducing human intervention in repetitive logistics tasks. The proposed system integrates a laser-SLAM navigation approach, customized trolley design, RoboShop programming, and robot dispatch system coordination, enabling real-time route planning, obstacle detection, and material scheduling. Experimental validation demonstrated high accuracy in path following, with root mean square error values ranging between 0.001 to 0.020 meters. The AMR achieved an average travel distance of 118.81 meters and a cycle time of 566.90 seconds across three final assembly stations. The overall efficiency reached 57%, primarily due to reduced idle time and optimized material replenishment. These results confirm the feasibility of AMR deployment as a scalable and flexible intralogistics solution, supporting the transition toward Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing systems.
