Abstract

Kata-kata kunci: Kondisi geologi lokal kota Bengkulu, Ground Shear Strain, deformasi. Abstract Local geology condition has become one of the most parameters which affected damage level of earthquake. Geology condition of Bengkulu city has been described by Ground Shear Strain (GSS) value that obtained by sixty seven microtremor data analysis result what instaled on each geology formation types. According analysis result, GSS value of Bengkulu city was heterogeneous relatively in spite of similar geology formation type. GSS in Bengkulu City has obtained and be divided to three category, including 10-6 (25.37%), 10-5 (40.30%) and 10-4 (32.84%). These variations indicate differences in the thickness of sediment layer and rock solidity level of sites. The Areas of high value of GSS have compatibility with actual field conditions (Based on ground survey, it was swamp area and morphology ramps relatively) and have compatibility with damaged earthquake effect history of Bengkulu city. According map of GSS value distributions, high potency of deformation was indicated in western of Bengkulu city area, it was alluvium terraces formation, alluvium formation and partial of andesite formation, while others were relatively safer. The dynamic characteristic of surface soil layer on Bengkulu city was elastic and potential crack and settlement. The soft geology structure relatively and thin of sediments layer would affected amplification of wave and high resonance when earthquake occur. Abstract

Kata  kunci: Gempa Bumi, HVSR, Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan, PGA.   ABSTRACT   Bengkulu Province is between the Sumatra Fault Zone and the Mentawai Fault Zone, the most dangerous fault system in Sumatra, Indonesia. In addition, the 2000 Bengkulu earthquake with a magnitude of Mw 7.9 caused a significant loss of life and property in the study area, and many other destructive earthquakes occurred after this earthquake. Determining the earthquake-prone zone of South Bengkulu Regency is essential to reducing earthquake damage. Therefore, short-period microtremor data recording was conducted at 65 points in the study area. Analysis of ambient noise data can help identify local site effects in South Bengkulu Regency using the Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method. The natural fundamental frequency ranges from 1.0 Hz to 9.3 Hz, and the amplification factor ranges from 1.8 to 4.4. PGA values were obtained from a 100-year earthquake event and calculated using the Kanai equation. The results show that PGA values range from 0.18 g to 0.78 g. The earthquake-prone zones in South Bengkulu Regency are divided into three zones: low (Kota Manna, Pasar Manna, Bunga Mas, and Seginim), medium (Pino Raya, Air Nipis, and Ulu Manna), and high (Manna, Kedurang, and Kedurang Ilir). The results of this study can serve as recommendations for stakeholders to consider appropriate measures for earthquake-resistant design and construction in South Bengkulu Regency.   Keywords: Earthquake, HVSR, South Bengkulu Regency, PGA.

Abstract

DOI:10.17014/ijog.8.3.313-328Bengkulu Province is the converging path region between the Indo-Australian - Eurasian tectonic plates in the ocean and the Sumatran f ault crossing on the mainland. The condition implies that the sliding force of the slab is easy to trigger fractures and to cause the material to be relatively less elastic, resulting in high seismic intensity. This study aims to identify areas with the potential for landslides and its mapping, and to analyze the factors that cause landslides in Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. This study was conducted using rock physical parameters of ground shear strain (GSS) which were correlated with parameters of slope, slope height, Vs30 value, fault distance to measurement point, rock conditions, rainfall, and PGA value. Furthermore, these parameters were overlaid thoroughly by the statistical method of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Data acquisition is divided into two stages, namely the secondary data collection stage and the field survey stage. Secondary data collection was carried out to support the creation of landslide potential maps, analysis, and field survey data input. Secondary data is the value of Vs 30, the distance of the fault to the measurement point, rainfall, and the PGA value. Field survey data are in the form of GSS values, slope, slope height, and rock conditions. The results of this study are identified areas that have the category of high, medium, and low landslide potential. Based on the calculated parameters, the GSS parameter is the most dominant which affects the landslide potential in the studied area.

Abstract

Urai Village is one of the villages affected by severe abrasion in North Bengkulu Regency. The abrasion that occurs causes changes in the coastline, causing damage to the facilities and infrastructure on the beach. In this research, primary data was obtained using the MASW method and secondary data in the form of coastal coastal data of Urai Village for 16 years (2006-2022) using satellite imagery. Analysis of changes in the coastline of Urai Village, North Bengkulu Regency from 2006 to 2022 showed significant abrasion. The main points experience abrasion of about ±8 meters/year, while the points with coastal protection have minimal abrasion, only about 0.1-0.5 meters/year. This shows the success of coastal protection infrastructure in reducing the impact of abrasion. Research found an average change in the coastline of ±8 meters/year. Analysis using MASW and satellite imagery showed the worst abrasion at points 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 (±3.4-8 meters/year), while points 3 and 7 experienced the lowest abrasion (±0.1-0.5 meters/year). The rock structure at a depth of ±30 meters consists of 3 layers. The research aims to mitigate abrasion disasters for sustainable development from the provincial government to the village in Urai Village, North Bengkulu Regency.

Abstract

Bengkulu City is situated within a subduction zone where the Indo-Australian and Eurasian tectonic plates converge, rendering the area highly susceptible to seismic activity. This study employs the microseismic method to assess seismic vulnerability and the subsurface rock structure at the Dendam Tak Sudah Lake Flyover Construction Site in Bengkulu City, which encompasses a swampy region. The microseismic method used was an inversion of the horizontal to vertical (H/V) spectral ratio (HV-Inv) for determining the dominant frequency (f0), amplification factor (A0), seismic sensitivity index (Kg), and shear wave velocity (Vs). The findings reveal that f0 in the study area range from 2.16 to 7.53 Hz, A0 vary from 0.40 to 3.79, and Kg values span from 0.03 to 6.04. The sedimentary layers exhibit an average thickness of 5-10 meters, with some locations showing significantly thicker sedimentary deposits. Notably, the highest seismic susceptibility is recorded at point T8. The Vs values range from 185.19 to 539.49 m/s, which are inversely proportional to the Kg values and indicate soil classifications varying from soft to medium. The overall seismic risk in the study area is moderate. These results offer key insights into geophysical and geological conditions in Bengkulu City, crucial for earthquake mitigation.
