Abstract

AbstractStarting from 2000, the Academic Information System (SIAKAD) could be accessed on-line by the entire academic community of the University of Lampung. SIAKAD used for academic purposes at the University of Lampung, such as card-making Plan Study (KRS), and Study Result Card (KHS). Faculty of Engineering, University of Lampung, which is one of the faculty who are in the shade of the University of Lampung also been wearing SIAKAD on-line for academic administration for its students. But in reality, SIAKAD on-line that used still had some shortcomings, namely, the absence of a recapitulation of how many students pass a graduation period, the average GPA of a graduation, the average GPA per class, how many students graduate, active, Drop Out (DO) a generation in one department, and the average of study period per period graduates. Therefore, in this study there had been made academic information system contains solutions to some of the shortcomings of the SIAKAD on-line used by the University of Lampung and were focused only on the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lampung. The information system was built using the programming language PHP version 5.3.5 and MySQL version 5.0.7 as its DBMS. At first the information system was created on the local host server and then uploaded to the web server of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lampung. Once the information system was built, the system tested. Testing was done by two scenarios, namely offline scenario and online scenario. In the offline testing, information system that was built could show how average GPA per class, average GPA per period of graduation, student statistics, as well as how many students were active, graduated, not graduated, dropped out (DO), and resigned themselves. Online scenario was done after the system information uploaded to the web server of the Faculty of Engineering. All existing features were also working as intended.Keywords: SIAKAD, information system, modified waterfall, localhost server.

Abstract

The spread of the Covid-19 virus requires the government to take a policy of organizing education online. Learning chemical bonding material is strived to be developed according to the needs of students and learning objectives that are reflected in the curriculum. This study aims to develop advance organizer-based distance learning on chemical bonding material and measure the effectiveness of this product. This study uses the Dick and Carey development model approach. The instruments used included assessment questionnaires, observations, interviews, validation sheets and tests of students' cognitive knowledge. The data obtained were analysed using quantitative descriptive statistics and data on the effectiveness of learning using an n-gain score. The results of this study obtained online learning products with an average validation score of 3.51 on a scale of 4.00 and the student gain value before and after using advance organizer-based online learning was 0.52. The conclusion of this research is that advance organizer-based online learning products on chemical bonding material are very feasible and effective. These findings will be an input for efforts to develop chemical bonding materials and research the development of chemistry learning during a pandemic.

Abstract

Femtocell is one of solutions to improve quality of services and network capacity for users in indoor areas. Radio resources used by femtocells are shared from macrocell network, thus it saves the use of frequency spectrum. However, one of problems in deploying femtocells within coverage area of macrocells is interference due to radio resources sharing between femtocells and macrocells. It creates interferences called as cross-tier (macrocell-femtocell/femtocell-macrocell) and co-tier (macrocell-macrocell/femtocell-femtocell) interferences. This paper proposes a relay-based clustering method to mitigate interference in femtocells located in the whole edge area of macrocell and the cell edge area of sectorized macrocells. Relay nodes are deployed statically (fixed location) in the neighboring macrocell area. Relay node will recruit their members based on the shortest distance. Certain relay node’s members do not need to transmit large amounts of power to enhanced Node B (eNB), such that interference from Macrocell User Equipment (MUE) to Home enhanced Node B (HeNB) can be minimized. Simulation experiments has been carried out and optimistic results for the sectorized macrocells scenario show that Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR) of femtocells for the conventional system that does not reach the targeted SINR of 20 dB is 87%. Meanwhile, after applying the relay-based clustering method, SINR value of femtocells below or equal to 20 dB reaches 72%. Optimistic results for throughput and Bit Error Rate (BER) show improvement of 15% and 14%, respectively. It has been shown that the relay-based clustering method can provide better performance compared to the conventional system even for femtocells densely deployed.

Abstract

Pembelajaran di masa pandemi menjadikan adanya perubahan proses yang dilakukan guru dalam penerapan metode dan media pembelajaran. Penggunaan media pembelajaran daring yang masih berbasis pemberian tautan bahan ajar menjadikan pembelajarannya menjadi kurang menarik. Penggunaan teknologi yang diterapkan di masa pandemi menjadikan setiap siswa dan orang tua akan mengikuti perkembangan teknologi. Flipbook digital merupakan salah satu media bahan ajar yang berbasis teknologi yang mudah dalam pembuatan dan penggunaan menjadi salah satu alternatif penggunaan media pembelajaran di masa pandemi. Kemampuannya yang bisa digunakan pada smartphone menjadikannya sangat bisa diandalkan. Siswa tingkat sekolah dasar yang pada dasarnya menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual dirasa tepat menggunakan bahan ajar dengan media ini. Untuk melihat seberapa efektif penggunaan flipbook digital terhadap proses pembelajaran, maka dilakukan penelitian ini dengan menggunakan pengembangan model ADDIE. Pengembangan dilakukan dengan melakukan analisis kebutuhan siswa dan guru, kemudian melakukan tahap perancangan untuk mendesain bahan ajar, kemudian melakukan pengembangan bahan ajar yang telah didesain dengan validasi oleh beberapa validator, kemudian dilakukan tahap implementasi untuk menerapkan bahan ajar ke siswa, dan terakhir dilakukan evaluasi untuk mengukur keefektivan penggunaan medianya. Hasilnya, berdasarkan uji N-Gain diperoleh skor sebesar 57,21% yang menunjukkan bahwa flipbook digital cukup efektif terhadap proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) mempunyai potensi yang sangat tinggi untuk diimplementasikan dan diintegrasikan ke dalam sistem telemedicine. Sistem ini memungkinkan untuk mengawasi pasien secara real-time di rumah, dengan menggunakan berbagai macam sensor untuk membaca beragaram parameter kesehatan atau perangkat terpasang pada tubuh untuk memantau informasi medis secara real-time. Data dan informasi medis kemudian dikirimkan ke server atau komputasi awan melalui Internet yang kemudian digunakan oleh dokter dan paramedis untuk analisis lebih lanjut. Makalah ini memaparkan potensi penggunaan IoT pada layanan kesehatan dan berbagai macam parameter kesehatan yang dapat dibaca dan dianalisis oleh berbagai sensor.

Abstract

One of solutions to address the increasing demands for data traffic by mobile users is to implement ultra dense network (UDN). UDN consists of many femtocells that are densely deployed on macrocellular communication networks. Since femtocells radius is very short and they are tightly packed, it faces interferences problem i.e., co-tier and cross-tier interferences. This paper proposes interference management technique based on clustering method for UDN multicellular communication networks at downlink transmission. It is purposed to reduce interference effects. To evaluate the proposed clustering method, two simulation scenarios have been designed; namely baseline system and system with the proposed clustering method. The scenarios applied is to randomly distribute femtocells following a uniform distribution in three macrocells areas. Through a clustering algorithm, adjacent femtocells are grouped into one cluster and assigned different frequency channels for each femtocell in that cluster. The same cluster pattern is repeated for all femtocells. Thus, interference effect is canceled within one cluster and reduced among clusters by widening the distance among femtocells that use the same frequency channels. Through simulation experiment, the proposed clustering method is evaluated and compared to the baseline system. The simulation results show that Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) of femtocells increases 0.44 dB, throughput increases 1.67%, Bit Error Rate (BER) reduces, and other parameters improve as well which include spectral efficiency, network energy, and average network energy. The proposed clustering method increases performances of the networks and provides better solution for transmission data speed in densely femtocell network.

Abstract

Solar energy is one of the New Renewable Energy (EBT) which is used specifically to meet electrical energy needs by converting it using a device often called a solar panel. Solar panels are generally arranged in PLTS in open areas so they have the potential to be exposed to dirt such as dust which can accumulate over a certain time and cause a reduction in the efficiency of sunlight irradiance on the surface of the solar panels. The solar panel cleaning system in solar power plants (PLTS) usually still uses conventional methods, namely cleaning by human power. In current technological developments, many automatic cleaning tools have been developed, but most of them in the field are only able to support a tool mass of under 10 kg. To clean a large 330 Wp solar panel, a frame construction is needed as a panel holder that can support a device mass of more than 10 kg, so in this paper a solar panel frame is designed that can support a weight of up to 40 kg. This tool is designed with a mechanical system that is able to support a larger mass of tools than is generally available in the field. In terms of mechanical system, the frame design of this tool uses a rectangular shape with hollow iron material to maintain a balanced position and is driven by a motor with a pully system as a kinetic energy transmission system for rotational motion using a High Torque motor. From the research results, it was found that the tool was able to work with a mass of 40 kg, a power consumption of 53.15 Watts with a tool operating time of 4 hours.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memusatkan perhatian pada penerapan TensorFlow, sebuah platform open-source untuk machine learning, dalam konteks deteksi objek dan analisis visual. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan dan melatih model deteksi objek menggunakan teknik-teknik deep learning yang terdapat dalam TensorFlow guna mengidentifikasi objek-objek dalam berbagai konteks visual. Metodologi penelitian ini melibatkan pengumpulan dataset yang representatif, penerapan arsitektur model yang sesuai seperti Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), serta proses training yang melibatkan teknik-teknik seperti transfer learning atau fine-tuning. TensorFlow digunakan sebagai framework utama dalam proses pengembangan dan evaluasi model, memanfaatkan kekuatan algoritma-algoritma yang telah tersedia dan kemampuan komputasi yang terdapat pada GPU. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa model yang dikembangkan mampu mencapai tingkat akurasi yang signifikan dalam tugas deteksi objek, memberikan nilai performa yang baik dalam membedakan dan mengidentifikasi objek-objek dalam dataset yang beragam. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa TensorFlow memiliki peran penting dalam memfasilitasi pengembangan model deep learning yang mampu menangani tugas-tugas visual kompleks secara efektif. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting terkait aplikasi TensorFlow dalam konteks deteksi objek dan analisis visual, menyoroti potensi dan kekuatan yang dimiliki oleh platform ini dalam menghadapi tantangan-tantangan dalam domain visual computing.

Abstract

Pendidikan memberikan berbagai perubahan positif bagi manusia. Perubahan tersebut dapat diperoleh apabia dalam pelaksanaan pedidikan dilakukan secara tetap. Salah satu problem terletak pada persoalan pemerataan pendidikan, ditambah kondisi saat ini pada pasca covid-19. Tujuan penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman terkait pemafaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi yang mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran online dimasa pandemi untuk meningkatkan mutu proses blendead learning pasca covid-19. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualiatif dengan jenis observasi alami (natural observation). Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X dan XI SMA Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung yang berjumlah 71 peserta didik dengan teknik sampling adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian ini meliputi lembar observasi kegiatan pembelajaran dan tes hasil belajar. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi sangat menunjang proses pembelajaran pasca pandemi covid-19.

Abstract

Effective and innovative learning is important in improving the quality of education in today's digital era. This study aims to describe the implementation of game-based learning media utilisation in optimising the learning process at Bodhisattva Junior High School in Bandar Lampung. The research method used is the literature review method by analysing 10 journal articles related to the use of game-based learning media. The results showed that the utilisation of game-based learning media at Bodhisattva Junior High School Bandar Lampung proved to be an effective strategy to optimise the learning process. Game-based learning media makes the learning process more interesting and fun, thus increasing students' motivation and engagement in learning. Games allow active interaction with the subject matter and can be tailored to each student's learning ability and pace, enabling more personalised and effective learning..
