Abstract

Community participation in the development of tourist villages is an obligation by remembering that marine potential is shared property and most importantly with participation, the community will be more aware of its marine potential and must continue to protect it in order to provide life for the community. This study aims to describe and determine community involvement in the development of tourist villages, using qualitative description with data sources obtained from the words and actions of informants, the rest is additional data such as documents with purposive techniques. The data obtained were collected through observation, interviews, in-depth, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative methods through three stages, namely the data reduction stage, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that there is community participation in the form of thoughts, energy, and money or property carried out by the community in the development of tourist villages, as well as the level of community participation carried out such as providing information, consulting, joint decision making, acting together, and providing support. So from this study it can be concluded that the participation of coastal communities in the development of tourist villages in Bokor Village, Rangsang Barat District, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province is an activity carried out by the community through community participation in the form of thoughts, energy, money or property in deliberation and mutual cooperation to improve the quality of the village as an effort to develop a tourist village.

Abstract

Indragiri Hilir is one of the districts with extensive waters and abundant fishery production. The potential for capture fisheries in Indragiri Hilir Regency is very large. In 2021, the potential for capture fisheries was 53,057.13 tons. Shrimp is a fishery commodity with high economic value and a favorite of Indonesian exports in the fisheries sector. Shrimp crackers are a series of food processing processes that combine tapioca flour with fresh shrimp to produce crispy snacks with a distinctive flavor. This process involves several critical stages that must be carried out carefully to produce high-quality products. Shrimp crackers are one of Indonesia's traditional snacks that have a distinctive taste and are in demand by various groups. Based on this, this study aims to determine how the shrimp cracker-making business process in Indragiri Hilir will be carried out in 2024. The research results obtained from this study are the shrimp cracker-making business in Indragiri Hilir, precisely in Tanah Merah Village, starting from the preparation, processing, and packaging stages. Shrimp crackers have been marketed to regions including Irian Jaya, Batam, Pekanbaru, Palembang, and Java. The development of the shrimp cracker processing business not only increases the livelihood of local people but also contributes to reducing unemployment in the area.

Abstract

Fisheries extension is a learning process for capacity building. This study aims to analyze the perseption of fish farmer group members about the capacity of fisheries extension workers in West Sumatra Province. The method used was survey method. The number of respondents used as the object of this research was 34 people, which was considered sufficient to obtain research data on the persepsi of fish farmer group members about the capacity of extension workers. The types of data collected include primary data and secondary data. This data was obtained from direct interviews using questionnaires, observation and documentation. The results of the research are: The perseption of fish farmer group members on the capacity of fisheries extension workers is well done in the process of disseminating extension material, applying extension methods, developing institutions, evaluating the implementation of extension, making potential data and making reports on the implementation of extension. In the process of training conducted by extension to cultivation in the form of determining quality fish seeds and broodstock, measuring water quality, preventing the threat of fish diseases so that the business developed in fish farming can be managed properly.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kelompok nelayan memiliki peran strategis dalam peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir, yang keberhasilannya sangat dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi penyuluh perikanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara kompetensi penyuluh perikanan dengan fungsi kelompok nelayan di Kecamatan Bungus Teluk Kabung, Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui purposive sampling terhadap 85 responden dari 22 kelompok nelayan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyuluh perikanan memiliki kompetensi baik dalam memberikan pendidikan, memecahkan masalah, dan membangun hubungan kerja. Fungsi kelompok nelayan juga tergolong sangat baik melalui kegiatan kelas belajar, unit produksi, unit usaha, dan wahana kerja sama. Analisis korelasi menunjukkan hubungan positif dengan kekuatan sedang antara kompetensi penyuluh dan fungsi kelompok nelayan. Disarankan peningkatan kapasitas penyuluh dan dukungan kebijakan berkelanjutan untuk memperkuat peran penyuluh dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat pesisir.
