Abstract

This paper is organized to find faith in uncertainty through theological reflection based on the book of Habakkuk. Habakkuk is a prophet of God in the Old Testament who experienced a difficult time amid King Jehoiakim's reign. The difficulties of life and injustice that occurred during the time of King Jehoiakim made the prophet Habakkuk constantly pray and put his faith in God. This steadfastness of faith needs to be emulated by believers. The modern age in which believers live often brings various challenges, such as the relativism of absolute truth and identity crisis. As a believer living in modern times, I believe that imitating Habakkuk can be done to achieve faith resilience. By having faith resilience as a result of imitating Habakkuk, believers can get through difficult times through their faith. Believers' faith will be trained amid life's uncertainties. Through descriptive qualitative research methods, the author tries to narrate the discovery of faith amid uncertain conditions through theological reflection based on the book of Habakkuk. The author states that the theological reflection of the book of Habakkuk brings believers to have faith that even amid uncertainty, God still answers prayer.

Abstract

Post-truth is a phenomenon of subjective truth circulating within society at large, driven by technological advancements. Information disseminated widely in society often lacks prior validation. Truth in this post-truth era aligns with individual preferences without undergoing validation. Christian leaders bear a significant responsibility amidst the Christian community in this post-truth era. Integrity and morality are essential attributes for Christian leaders to navigate the post-truth era. The integrity and morality of Christian leaders should be founded upon the Biblical Word of God. Without integrity and morality, Christian leaders will struggle to guide the Christian community through this post-truth era. Christian leaders need to shine a light for the Christian community amidst this post-truth era. Through descriptive qualitative methodology, it can be concluded that integrity and morality form the foundation for Christian leaders to guide the Christian community through the post-truth era. Moral and integrity-driven leaders will instill similar moral values and integrity within the Christian community, enabling them to shine amidst the post-truth era.

Abstract

This paper reflects theologically on the role of the gospel in spiritual growth based on Colossians 1:23. The gospel is the message that affirms God's work of salvation through Jesus Christ. The gospel details the life and person of Jesus Christ to bring salvation to all believers. Colossians 1:23 is a key text that crucially describes the perseverance of faith rooted in the Gospel. Colossians 1:23 affirms the superiority of Christ, which strengthens believers to continue to base their lives on the Gospel. Colossians 1:23 also emphasises the importance of perseverance in faith based on the Gospel as its core. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, the author attempts to explore the theological reflection of Colossians 1:23 on the role of the Gospel in the spiritual growth process of the congregation. The author asserts that the theological reflection of Colossians 1:23 emphasises the significant role of the Gospel in the spiritual growth process of the congregation. This paper offers a reflective-theological approach based on Colossians 1:23 to shape an understanding of the spiritual growth of the congregation based on the Gospel.

Abstract

This paper is crafted with the aim of exploring covenant theology and the certainty of promises in 2 Corinthians 1:20 concerning the spiritual dynamics of the congregation. Covenant theology frames the interaction between God and humanity and is divided into two systems: the covenant of works and the covenant of grace, each with distinct focal points. Jesus Christ plays a significant role in both systems, fulfilling the covenant of works and serving as the mediator between God and humanity within the covenant of grace. Jesus Christ is also the central figure of God's promises, as expressed in 2 Corinthians 1:20. God's promises have a significant impact on the spiritual life of the congregation. In addition to God's promises, covenant theology positively influences the spiritual dimension of the congregation. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, the author explores covenant theology and the certainty of promises in 2 Corinthians 1:20 for the congregation's spiritual dynamics. The author asserts that the exploration of covenant theology and the certainty of promises in 2 Corinthians 1:20 has a significant positive impact on the spiritual dynamics of the congregation. AbstrakTulisan ini dirangkai dengan tujuan untuk mengeksplorasi teologi kovenan dan kepastian janji dalam 2 Korintus 1:20 pada dinamika spiritual jemaat. Teologi kovenan merupakan teologi yang membingkai interaksi Allah dengan manusia. Teologi kovenan terbagi dalam 2 sistem yaitu kovenan kerja dan kovenan anugerah dimana masing-masing kovenan memiliki titik tumpu yang berbeda. Yesus Kristus memiliki peran signifikan di dalam 2 sistem tersebut dimana Yesus Kristus menggenapi kovenan kerja dan menjadi perantara Allah dan manusia di dalam kovenen anugerah. Yesus Kristus juga menjadi pusat janji Allah yang dinyatakan di dalam 2 Korintus 1:20. Janji Allah memilki dampak yang signifikan dalam membangun kehidupan rohani jemaat. Selain janji Allah, teologi kovenan juga memberikan pengaruh positif di dalam sisi spiritual jemaat. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penulis akan mengeksplorasi teologi kovenan dan kepastian janji dalam 2 Korintus 1:20 bagi dinamika spiritual jemaat. Penulis menegaskan bahwa eksplorasi teologi kovenan dan kepastian janji dalam 2 Korintus 1:20 memberi dampak positif yang signifikan di dalam dinamika spiritual jemaat yaitu jemaat akan mengalami pertumbuhan rohani baik secara individu maupun secara komunal.
