Abstract

Introduction: Neonatal intensive care causes high maternal stress, and low interaction between mother and baby are suspected to be a stressor. The role of the mother needed to participate in neonatal care. However, mothers want to monitor the condition of neonates during treatment. This purpose of study to analyze the correlation between family center care, stress and maternal satisfaction in the Edelweiss (Perinatology) at RSD Balung Jember. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 124 post partum mothers whose babies were treated in the perinatology room with consecutive random sampling. Family center care, stress, and maternal satisfaction questionnaires were used. A Chi-square test was used to analyze to answer the research Results: The results among respondents had high levels of family centered care implementation (63.7%), low maternal stress (51.6%), and high levels of maternal satisfaction (58.1%). There is a correlation between between family centered care implementation with maternal stress (X2 = 8.14; p-value = 0.004), and stress with maternal satisfaction (X2 = 19.3; p-value = 0.00). Mothers with high levels of family centered care implementation will prevent 0.2 times experiencing stress (OR = 0.16; 95% CI = 0.07-0.38), and if maternal satisfaction is high then 3 times will tend to have low stress (OR = 2.89; 95% CI = 1.38-6.06). However, there isn't correlation between family centered care implementation and satisfaction mother (X2 = 0.83; p-value = 0.36). Perhaps, maternal characteristics to be a factor. Conculusion: Family center care services can meet the needs of parents and improve the quality of nursing care in the perinatology room for babies, parents and families so as to increase satisfaction with the services provided.

Abstract

Introduction: Social interaction played an important role in a child's daily life. If there was no balance of intelligence or interactive abilities, it would be difficult for children to live in society. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the government issued a physical distancing policy. Children couldn't meet and interact with their environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the application of physical distancing and the level of development (social interaction) of children aged 3-6 years in Bantal Village. Method: The research method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach design. The study was conducted 93 children with criteria aged 3-6 years who live in Bantal Village, Asembagus District. The exclusion criteria for sick children, have physical limitations and suffer from mental disorders using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection used measuring tools in the form of a questionnaire on the physical distancing and interaction rating scale (IRS) and used the chi-square for the statistical test. Results: The results of the statistical analysis test using the chi-squere value obtained p<É‘ (p=0.001<0.05) so that there is a relationship between the application of physical distancing and the level of development (social interaction) of children aged 3-6 years in Bantal Village, Asembagus District, Situbondo Regency. Conclusions: There was a relationship between the application of physical distancing and the level of development (social interaction) of children aged 3-6 years during the Covid-19 pandemic in Bantal Village.

Abstract

Introduction: A contraceptive with a modern design, the device is implanted in the uterine cavity to prevent fertility and the egg from implanting in the uterus, called intrauterine devices (IUD). It's emphasizing maternal mortality and controlling the rate of population growth causing. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with the low interest in the IUD contraceptive method in Jambesari District, Bondowoso Regency. Methods: This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with random sampling for cross-sectional analysis. Primary data were gathered through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods supplemented by secondary data. The study focused on 6,677 mothers using family planning, with a 99-participant sample determined by the Slovin formula. The analysis involved the Chi-square test at a 95% confidence level based on categorical and ordinal data. Results: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge of acceptors, education level, and attitude towards the low number of IUD users in Jambesari Bondowoso District (p=0.00). Conclusion: Based on the research results that have been described, it can be concluded that in Jambesari District, there are 7 factors, 3 factors (knowledge, education, attitude) related to poor knowledge due to low education, resulting in acceptors having a bad attitude or agreeing to IUD contraception. Health workers should be more active in providing counselling and education. Keywords: childbearing age; influenced factor; intrauterine devices (IUD)

Abstract

Introduction: Personality type and self-control are internal factors that can determine the behaviour of adolescents, one of which is cyberbullying. Personality determines the nature of adolescents, and self-control is the control of adolescents in holding back their responses and emotions to show behaviour. This study aimed to determine the relationship between personality type and self-control with cyberbullying behaviour in adolescents at Y High School Banyuwangi Regency. Methods: The research method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach design. This study was conducted on 196 adolescents using a purposive sampling technique with several inclusion criteria: active students aged 15 to 17 years, users of smartphones, email, and social media. The data were collected by using several measuring instruments: the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) with a reliability test value of α = 0.762, the Brief Self Control Scale with a reliability test value using a T-test with r = 0.18, and the Cyber Aggressore Scale (CYB-AGS) with reliability test value α = 0.867. Logistic regression statistical tests analyzed the data. Results: This study revealed no relationship between personality type and cyberbullying behavior with p-value = 0.573 and a relationship between self-control and cyberbullying behaviour with p-value <0.001.Conclusions: There is no relationship between personality type and cyberbullying behaviour, and there is a relationship between self-control and cyberbullying behaviour at Y High School Banyuwangi Regency. Keywords: cyberbullying; personality type; self-control

Abstract

Introduction: Low birth weight (LBW) infants are vulnerable to health problems that impact growth and development. However, mothers as primary caregivers may not be able to provide care optimally. Factors associated with maternal characteristics need to be analyzed to determine pediatric nursing interventions to improve LBW infant care. This study aims to analyze factors associated with the nutritional status of Low-Birth-Weight Infants (1-12 months) based on maternal characteristics in agricultural areas of Jember Regency. Methods: The cross-sectional design study was conducted among infant and mother pairs by measuring nutritional status (Weight-for-Age) and distributing questionnaires on maternal characteristics such as age, education, parity, occupation, and responsive caregiving. Total sampling was collected in one of the agricultural areas of Jember that had a high LBW birthrate, resulting in 89 infant-mother pairs with a history of low-birth-weight births. Data collection on nutritional status and maternal demographics was obtained from the Maternal and Child Health Book, while responsive caregiving data was collected from questionnaires to mothers. The Spearman’s rank test analyzed the relationship between infant nutritional status and maternal characteristics. Results: The majority of infants had a normal nutritional status (88%). The characteristics of mothers are mostly aged in early adulthood (95.6%), multiparous (62.9%), elementary school educated (37.1%), not working (87.6%), and responsive caregiving as low as almost as high (50.6%; 49.4%). The results of the study showed that mothers' age, education level, and occupation status were not related to LBW infant nutritional status. However, maternal parity and responsive caregiving were related to the nutritional status (P-value = < .001). Conclusion: The pediatric nurse should play a crucial role as an infant care provider to enhance mothers’ empowerment in caring for LBW infants. The Responsive caregiving practice education could be an alternative pediatric nursing intervention to reduce LBW infant morbidity and mortality.
