Abstract

This study addresses the educational challenges faced by slow learner students, who exhibit lower cognitive abilities than their peers, particularly in the context of reading difficulties during elementary school. Recognizing the need for targeted interventions, this research focuses on the development of a culture-based digital sandpaper letter learning medium tailored to enhance the letter recognition and writing skills of slow learner students. The research employs a 4D development model, encompassing define, design, development, and dissemination phases. The sandpaper letters, featuring rough textures, serve as a sensory-motor stimulus to facilitate the learning process for slow learner students. Culturally relevant themes from Indonesia, such as dances, songs, musical instruments, names of weapons, tribes, food, and place names, are incorporated into the design to enhance engagement and connection with the material. Expert assessment sheets and teacher response questionnaires are utilized as assessment instruments. Results indicate that the developed learning medium is validated by experts and deemed practical by teachers. Furthermore, research trials demonstrate the effectiveness of the culture-based digital sandpaper letters in facilitating letter recognition and writing skills among slow learner students. This innovative approach not only addresses the specific needs of this student population but also contributes to the broader field of inclusive education.

Abstract

Implementing learning on mathematics material that does not provide facilities for students to explore critical thinking skills results in a lack of student learning outcomes. The teacher-centred learning process makes many students passive when learning takes place, and low student learning outcomes and critical thinking are also caused by the use of less varied learning models. This makes researchers apply an approach with PMRI (Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia or Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education). This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of PMRI in improving fourth-grade students' learning outcomes and critical thinking. This research was a pre-experimental study; the subjects in this study were fourth-grade students with 20 students. The design in this study is quasi-experimental with the form of one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection was carried out using test, observation and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques were carried out by Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and Paired t-test. The results showed that PMRI learning can improve students' learning outcomes and critical thinking. This is evidenced by the average value of learning outcomes pretest (69.65) and post-test (87.35). Then the average value of critical thinking at the first meeting (68.05) and the second meeting (78.85). The conclusion that can be drawn is that students' learning outcomes and critical thinking have increased after PMRI was applied to fourth-grade students.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Indonesia is still high. AKI is the number of maternal deaths during pregnancy, childbirth and childbirth caused by pregnancy, childbirth and childbirth or management and is not caused by accident or falls in every 100,000 live births. Caesarean birth is the last alternative in the act of labor. This is because of the high risk factors, both risks for both mother and baby. Despite the high risk, Caesar's birth rate has increased significantly, especially in Indonesia. The World Health Organization (WHO) sets a standard for Caesarean delivery in a country of around 5-15 percent per 1000 births in the world. Machine learning learns how machines or computers learn from experience or how to program machines to learn. Machine learning requires data to learn or in other words termed learn from data. There are several machine learning applications that have been developed. One is WEKA machine learning (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis). Weka is a data mining software that is equipped with a standard machine learning algorithm, including preprocessing, classification, clustering, regression, association, and visualization algorithms. In this study the classification of Caesar's birth will be carried out using the Naïve Bayes algorithm to determine whether the birth will be given an act of Caesarean section or a normal delivery (No Caesar). The dataset used consists of 80 data of pregnant women with 5 attributes, namely: age, number of medical personnel, delivery time, blood pressure, liver problems. The results of this study are expected to help the health world especially to determine the birth process need to be given Caesarean section or not by providing a classification model to make medical predictions. The results of this study are expected to be able to support the world of health, especially in the case of giving birth by providing a classification model that can be used to make predictions and other medical decision making.
