Abstract

Fluctuations in chili prices often occur due to the uneven availability of chili supply throughout the year, so the price of chili will jump up when the supply is low. The decline in the amount of cayenne pepper crop production in West Bandung Regency is an indicator that there is a decrease on the supply side. This study aims to analyze the effect of total harvested area, production costs, and yields/production of curly red chili on the price of curly red chili at the farm level. This research uses quantitative research methods. Data analysis using multiple linear regression. The types of data in this study are secondary data and primary data. The method of determining the sample in this study is a survey method with random sampling techniques selected randomly. The total respondents were 68 farmers, so the number of samples in this study was 35 farmers and consumers. The results showed that simultaneously, there was no significant and simultaneous influence between area, production costs, and yields/production on the price of curly red chili peppers in Parongpong District. While partially independent, the independent variables (area, production costs, and yields/production) have a real effect on the price of curly red chili peppers in Parompong District

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine how Waaida Farm manages agro-tourism and to measure the impact of agro-tourism from the empowerment of the surrounding farmer's community. The Farm is located in Sumedang Regency and has natural potentials in agriculture and tourism which offers a unique experience. The concept of agro-tourism offers a medium for education, culture, promotion of local products, social, economic growth and community empowerment. With the existence of the Farm, the characteristics of the community have changed positively. The research method used is the case study and primary data were obtained from 30 farmers who work at agro-tourism. From the results of the paired t-student difference test ( Paired Sample T Test ) it can be concluded  that Agro-tourism has a positive impact on the empowerment of the surrounding community not only from increasing participation, but also independence and accessibility for farmers community.Keywords: Agro-tourism, Community Empowerment

Abstract

Indonesian people know palm sugar as one of natural sweeteners, it is used as a supplement to food and drink because it has a distinctive flavor not found in sugar cane. One diversification of palm sugar products is ant sugar. It is a palm sugar in form of a crystal. It is said to be called ant sugar because it looks like an ant house. Process of making it is longer than coconut sugar or palm sugar. This research compared compared it to printed sugar and palm sugar based on socioeconomic conditions and agribusiness income. Samples using Solvin's Formula, 64 ant sugar and 30 scattered sugar farmers’ respondents. Conclusions:  Value-added ratio of palm sugar businesses is said to be still low but still profitable; Income of palm sugar plantation is difference between income and total production cost and average income is IDR 2,295,537.78 each month; Income of palm sugar cultivation is difference between income and total production cost and average income is IDR 1,135,535.90 each month.
