Abstract

Gelgel Village is one of the villages in the Klungkung District, Klungkung Regency, Bali Province. Gelgel village is famous for the production of Balinese woven fabrics, namely songket and endek. Songket/endek cloth is one of the characteristics of Balinese cultural products. In the past, Balinese endek/songket fabrics were very famous, not only in demand by domestic tourists, but also in demand by foreign tourists. However, in its development endek fabric has decreased, this can be seen from the decreasing production of songket/endek woven fabrics, as a result of competition with similar fabrics produced by factories that enter the market. The obstacle faced by Partners is the competition for endek/songket woven fabrics at lower prices. Partners also experience problems in the production process of songket/endek fabrics, which are constrained by the limited number of workers as pattern/design makers. The development of songket/endek fabric production has also experienced a very drastic decline with the Covid-19 pandemic, this has an impact on the production of songket/endek woven fabrics and also has an impact on the fate of weaving workers in Gelgel Village, Klungkung Regency. Therefore. This PKM seeks to empower weaver groups, namely in the form of legal protection and increasing the production of songket/endek fabrics in Gelgel Village, Klungkung.

Abstract

The application of information technology as a form of e-government implementation contributes to improving the welfare and progress of society. E-government is better known as a form of public service by an electronic-based government. Besides being intended to provide information openly about government activities, it is also to facilitate the public in obtaining services related to population administration. However, electronic-based public services in Semarapura Kaja Village are not yet optimal. This can be seen from the very few people who use (visit) the site and the complaints of the public in accessing population administration services. The method of activity in this PKM is making an application for managing a residence certificate, socializing and assisting the use of the application. The output of the activity is in the form of an e-PAK application, namely an application for electronic-based village administration as well as assistance for officers and the community to take advantage of these services.

Abstract

Gelgel Village is famous for its production of Balinese woven fabrics, namely songket and endek fabrics. Songket/endek cloth is one of the characteristics of Balinese cultural products. However, the production of songket woven cloth did not develop much. The demand for the production of songket woven fabric in Gelgel Klungkung Village is still low. This is because the production is only in the form of kamen, shawls, and headbands, there are no new creations, so demand only increases when there are certain ceremonies such as wedding ceremonies and Hindu religious ceremonies. Songket cloth has a unique characteristic pattern. Now that business competition is getting tougher, there are already many fabric manufacturers that are similar to songket at a lower price. There needs to be collaboration between songket weavers and artisans in an integrated manner. Songket woven fabric as one of the cultures of the Gelgel people needs to be preserved by providing a form of legal protection. The problems experienced by partners are: 1) The demand for the production of songket woven fabric in Gelgel Klungkung Village is still low. What are the efforts that can be made to create innovations to attract buyers' interest in the production of songket woven fabrics in Gelgel Village? 2) With increasingly fierce business competition, what efforts can be made in the business of distributing songket production in Gelgel Village in the face of competitors in the weaving business? 3) The problem of Human Resources (HR) is also an obstacle for the songket business in Gelgel Village, because there is no younger generation who want to become weavers in Gelgel Village?.
