Abstract

This research was aimed to develop learning media, as well test the level validity of mobile learning based learning media on hydrocarbon material smartphones. This development research uses the smart apps creator software and the canva application. This research used the Research and Development (R&D), with the ADDIE development model. In this study focused on the media development stage/development stage. The research subjects were one chemistry teacher and 35 students in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. The results of media validation in the development of mobile learning based learning media on smartphones on hydrocarbon material obtained a result of 68.75% with valid criteria and the results of material validation obtained a value of 89.28 % with very valid criteria. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that mobile learning based learning media on hydrocarbon material smartphones is valid so it is suitable for use in chemistry learning.

Abstract

Pencemaran air oleh logam berat memiliki dampak serius terhadap kehidupan akuatik, khususnya ikan, karena logam berat dapat merusak organisme tersebut. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penggunaan metode Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kandungan logam berat pada ikan. Melalui tinjauan literatur sistematis, ditemukan bahwa sungai merupakan perairan yang paling sering terkontaminasi oleh logam berat di seluruh dunia. Terdapat 13 jenis logam berat yang sering terakumulasi pada ikan, antara lain timbal, merkuri, kadmium, tembaga, kromium, perak, arsenik, kobalt, mangan, nikel, seng, besi, dan selenium. Hasil analisis menggunakan metode AAS menunjukkan konsentrasi logam berat yang sangat tinggi pada tubuh ikan. Selain itu, satu spesies ikan dapat mengandung lebih dari 2 jenis logam berat. Oleh karenanya, metode AAS dalam mengidentifikasi logam berat dinilai bagus sebelum melakukan pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam penanganan pencemaran logam berat dalam perairan dan melindungi kesehatan ekosistem akuatik.

Abstract

Mangrove merupakan tanaman pesisir yang memiliki banyak keuntungan, salah satunya digunakan sebagai zat warna. Zat warna alami yang merupakan pigmen warna dari senyawa bioaktif tanaman telah diteliti dengan baik. Bagian tanaman propagul mangrove diambil mangrove jebis ceriops tagal yang tumbuh disepanjang pesisir Pulau Bintan, Kepuluan Riau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan zat warna alami dari propagul buah tanaman mangrove dan diuji kandungan bioaktif menggunakan metoda skrining fitokimia dan uji karakterisasi dengan FTIR serta implementasi zat warna pada ecoprint menggunakan metoda iron blanket. Hasil skrining fitokimia memperlihatkan positif  kandungan alkaloid, flavonoid, polifenol dan tannin sedangkan FTIR memperlihatkan puncak -OH yang dominan sebagai komponen utama metabolit sekunder. Pemanfaatan zat warna dari pigmen tanaman dilakukan dengan mewarnai kain melalui metoda ecoprint dengan berbagai jenis mordant. Dihasilkan bahwa warna pada kain ecoprint menajdi lebih terang tahan lama dan bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai usaha produksi dalam peningkatan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Indonesia’s coastal waters have great potential wealth in supporting human life and as an ecosystem for several species. However, this potential is eclipsed by heavy metal pollution caused by industry and domestic activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the concentrations of heavy metals mercury (Hg) and lead (Pb) in numerous species of mussels often found in Indonesian coastal waters. The research method used was systematic literature review. The results showed that coastal waters in several regions I Indonesia, especially in the provinces of Aceh, Central Java, Banten, West Java, East Java and Jakarta, have significant concentrations of heavy metals. Thirteen kinds of mussels were found to have heavy metal pollution. But the most heavily polluted with heavy metals were lead (Pb) and mercury (Hg) were green mussels (Perna viridis). The results demonstrated that many varieties of mussels have higher concentrations of the heavy metals lead (Pb) and mercury (Hg) than the maximum allowed by BPOM Regulation No. 9 of 2022.

Abstract

The rising levels of heavy metal pollution in water bodies present major environmental and public health issues. Conventional methods for remediation often come with high costs and produce secondary waste, which can pose additional environmental risks. As an alternative, chitosan—a natural, biopolymer derived from chitin—has gained attention as a promising biosorbent for heavy metal removal. Its advantages include biocompatibility, biodegradability, and a strong ability to bind metal ions effectively. This review explores chitosan’s capacity to adsorb various heavy metals and examines its practical applications in biosorption technology. Key factors that impact its adsorption efficiency, such as solution pH, metal concentration, and contact time, are discussed. Additionally, structural modifications to enhance chitosan’s performance, including cross-linking and nanoparticle incorporation, are analyzed to highlight improvements in adsorption efficiency. By assessing these elements, this review aims to offer a comprehensive perspective on the role of chitosan in environmental management, particularly for treating heavy metal contamination in wastewater. The findings underscore chitosan's potential as a sustainable solution in pollution control, emphasizing its advantages over traditional methods and its capacity to contribute to cleaner water resources.

Abstract

Indonesia is a maritime country known for its vast territorial waters of sea, reservoirs, rivers, lakes, and bays compared to its land area which makes Indonesia rich in natural resources of sea and other waters. However, many problems are faced when preserving the sea such as marine pollution in the form of petroleum spills which are very dangerous for marine ecosystems. Therefore, there needs to be a handling effort to overcome this. The purpose of this research is to provide information about handling by adsorption to overcome petroleum pollution. The preparation method is carried out by analyzing articles from various literature sources such as journals, scientific papers, report books, and Google Scholar.  The conclusion is that the treatment that can be applied to overcome the pollution of the sea and other waters due to petroleum in Indonesia by adsorption using activated carbon cassava peel, cocoa pod skin, water hyacinth, banana peel, and banana stem is classified as effective, efficient and economical management and has its advantages in reducing the levels of parameters contained in petroleum waste.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with an ocean area wider than land. Indonesia's ocean areas contain many maritime activities, one of which is shipping and trade. This activity causes a lot of domestic and foreign transportation to pass through Indonesia's maritime areas. It is not uncommon for domestic and international sea transportation to discharge exhaust emissions from their fuel onto the sea surface, causing marine damage. This article was created with the aim of summarizing previous research to make it easier for readers and to find out the appropriate types of maritime chemical fuels, combustion and exhaust emissions, as well as reducing pollution from combustion. The review of studies uses a comparative approach, collecting sources from Google Scholar and PubMed databases, as well as national and international publications. The research results show that liquefied natural gas (LNG) and hydrogen are good candidates to replace chemical fuels because they are both sulfur-free.

Abstract

This device, called a Scrubber, is a solution to overcome air pollution resulting from the performance of ship fuel. This machine's process requires indicator media in the form of seawater and fresh water, where this indicator is only used in certain situations and conditions. This research aims to find out and identify the role of scrubbers on low sulfur fuel in dealing with air pollution in maritime areas. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. As a result, this scrubber provides efficient results by converting fuel containing SO2 into environmentally friendly fuel due to the role of indicators, which are processed simultaneously in the scrubber. However, this machine has advantages and disadvantages that are of concern to scrubber users. Therefore, supervision and skills in understanding the application of scrubbers are needed so that they can provide excellent and efficient results.

Abstract

Meningkatnya konsumerisme dan terbatasnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap penggunaan plastik telah mengakibatkan penumpukan sampah plastik yang signifikan di wilayah pesisir Kepulauan Riau. Contoh nyata adalah tumpukan sampah setinggi 3,5 meter di Pantai Senggarang, dan produksi sampah harian Batam yang mencapai 1.200 ton, dengan kapasitas TPA yang terbatas. Penelitian ini melakukan analisis bibliometrik, yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tren publikasi dan pola kutipan dalam penelitian bioplastik dari tahun 2020 hingga 2025 untuk memahami dinamika pertumbuhan dan dampak ilmiah bidang ini. Analisis bibliometrik terhadap 990 publikasi bioplastik (2020–2025) dengan 49.801 kutipan dan h-indeks 105 menunjukkan evolusi penelitian dari karakterisasi bahan dasar seperti pati dan selulosa hingga eksplorasi bahan baku inovatif termasuk limbah makanan dan mikroalga. Analisis kepadatan mengungkap bahwa konsep "bioplastik" memiliki intensitas penelitian tertinggi, dengan kaitan signifikan dengan plastik, bio, PLA, dan biopolimer, serta aplikasi praktis seperti pengemasan makanan dan sifat mekanis. Pola temporal menunjukkan bahwa konsep produksi bioplastik, mikroalga, dan degradasi muncul sebagai area penelitian yang signifikan pada tahun 2022. Hal ini menandai pergeseran paradigma dalam penelitian menuju proses produksi berkelanjutan dan peningkatan biodegradabilitas sebagai solusi untuk krisis plastik konvensional.
