Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is sigma convergence and beta convergence in Indonesia, to determine the effect of electricity infrastructure, human development, and ICT on convergence of economic growth, and to determine the scenario that can accelerate economic growth in Indonesia. The data used in this study is secondary data. The methods used are convergence analysis, panel data regression analysis, and dynamic system approach. The results showed that there was sigma convergence and no beta convergence in Indonesia in 2013-2022. Electricity infrastructure, human development, and ICT have not been able to encourage convergence of economic growth with electricity infrastructure having a significant negative effect, human development having a significant positive effect, and ICT having an insignificant negative effect. Scenarios that can be done to accelerate economic growth are structural scenarios and parameter scenarios.

Abstract

This study examines the structure, conduct, and performance (SCP) of the Indonesian manufacturing industry, contributing the most to the national economy from 2017 to 2021. The research employed SCP analysis, which entails evaluating market concentration using the Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI) and analyzing market performance and industry behavior utilizing literature reviews. Based on Indonesian Central Statistics Agency groupings, the sample data covers 23 sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry. The results of the HHI calculations also show that the concentration of the manufacturing industry market is at a moderate level, mergers and acquisitions that result in moderate market concentration of HHI enhancements will raise anti-competitive concerns and will require further analysis and often require scrutiny. Hence, requiring proper supervision and strategy in developing competitiveness amidst global uncertainty. The conduct and performance of the manufacturing industry show an effort to grow better amid fairly tight global competition. Therefore, it is necessary for a number of parties to play a part in boosting productivity and the competitiveness of goods produced by the manufacturing sector. Governments should reduce their direct intervention in the market by implementing industrial policies and seeking market-oriented policy means to influence the economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of the Kampung Blekok tourism village in Situbondo Regency using the Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA). This approach includes five types of capital assets: human capital, natural capital, physical capital, financial capital, and social capital, while also taking into account aspects of vulnerability, institutional structures, and sustainability strategies. The research uses an exploratory qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that natural capital has the highest score in the development process, while financial capital remains low. Strengthening strategies through community training, improvement of tourism facilities, and environmental conservation are key to achieving sustainable development in Kampung Blekok.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a national initiative to strengthen human resource quality, yet its success depends on schools’ capacity to plan, manage, and sustain implementation. This community engagement program aims to build the institutional capacity of SMP Negeri 7 Jember in planning and executing MBG, enhancing nutrition literacy among teachers, students, and parents, and fostering a sustainable collaboration model with relevant stakeholders. Using a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach with a Plan–Act–Observe–Reflect cycle, the activities included baseline mapping of nutrition management, development of an action plan, training and mentoring for MBG SOP formulation, implementation of healthy eating practices, and reflective sessions for sustainability planning. The program resulted in improved managerial capacity, as evidenced by the development and initial application of MBG SOPs, stronger internal coordination, and increased nutrition knowledge, based on pre- and post–training scores. Parental involvement strengthened alignment between school and home practices, supporting the emergence of a healthy nutrition culture.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of inter regional spatial interactions on economic growth in 35 regencies/cities in East Java, during the 2013–2023 period and using spatial panel estimation. The variables used are Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, the Human Development Index (HDI), physical Special Allocation Fund (DAK), and the number of workers. The method used is Spatial Autoregressive Combined (SAC) method with the Fixed Effects Model (FEM) approach. The results of the moran's I test indicate significant spatial autocorrelation on economic growth in East Java. The analysis results show that the HDI and physical DAK variables have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in East Java. Meanwhile, the number of workers variable have a positive but insignificant effect on economic growth in East Java in this study.

Abstract

Sustainable development balances economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental preservation to promote long-term community welfare. This study examines rural development in Osing Traditional Village, Banyuwangi Regency, using the Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA) to identify key assets, vulnerabilities, and sustainability strategies. Employing a quantitative descriptive method, the study integrates pentagonal asset analysis, vulnerability assessment, and SWOT analysis with data collected through surveys and interviews. Findings reveal that natural capital is the dominant asset (value: 9.75), supported by social and physical capital. However, vulnerabilities such as fertilizer scarcity, rising input costs, and agricultural land conversion pose significant threats to sustainability. This study addresses a critical research gap by analyzing asset interactions in a rapidly transforming, tourism-dependent village, offering novel insights into the integration of cultural preservation, economic development, and risk mitigation. Beyond the case study, it contributes to the theoretical discourse on sustainable rural development and provides actionable policy recommendations. These include agricultural land protection, improved financial access, and community-driven initiatives to ensure long-term prosperity without compromising ecological integrity.
