Abstract

This study examines the pattern of children’s religious choice in interfaith families in Klepu Village, Sooko District, Ponorogo Regency. The phenomenon of interfaith marriage often raises issues of religious identity among children, especially when they reach adulthood and begin to determine their own beliefs. This research aims to analyze the emerging patterns of children’s religious selection and to explore the implications of these choices for their personal, social, and legal lives. The study employs a qualitative method with Edmund Husserl’s phenomenological approach to understand the subjective experiences of children within social and religious contexts. Primary data were obtained through interviews and observations with children from interfaith marriages, while secondary data were drawn from documents and supporting literature. The findings reveal three main patterns of religious choice among children: environmental factors influenced by peer groups; paternal factors characterized by authoritarian discipline; and maternal factors emphasizing affection, moral teaching, and religious exemplarity. These patterns have implications for children’s religious identity formation, social stability, and legal rights within the societal system. This type of research is field research. To answer the questions in this study, the author uses a phenomenological approach to understand the subjective experience of individuals in facing a phenomenon by Edmund Husserl. This thesis uses a qualitative method, while in collecting primary data the author conducted observations and interviews. While the author obtained secondary data from various other sources to complete the research needs. This research was conducted in Klepu Village, Sooko District, Ponorogo Regency, which was determined using a random technique. This study suggests that three patterns of religious selection were found, namely, first, Environmental Factors which are motivated by the invitation of friends around them. Second, Father factors which are motivated by the invitation of the father who is authoritarian and disciplines his child to worship according to his father's religion. And third, Mother factors which are motivated by the mother being a source of survival for children as well as a moral teacher and role model for her children. The implications related to the pattern of children's religious selection can be seen from the child's side, social level, and legal rights that must be borne by children from interfaith marriages.

Abstract

This article examines the role of retail sukuk as a sharia financial instrument in supporting development and investment financing, by integrating the perspective of Ibn Khaldun's economic thought. Retail sukuk functions as an alternative financing that involves direct community participation, while supporting the realization of sustainable development projects, such as infrastructure, education, and health. In Ibn Khaldun's view, a country's economic development requires a balance between the role of the government and community contributions. The principles of justice and transparency inherent in retail sukuk are in line with the concept of wealth distribution and inclusive economic management in Ibn Khaldun's theory. This article also highlights how the implementation of retail sukuk can encourage economic growth, expand the investor base, and create social stability through a more equitable distribution of benefits. By integrating sharia principles and moral values taught by Ibn Khaldun, retail sukuk can be a strategic instrument in building a just and sustainable economy. This research offers a new perspective on the synergy between classical thinking and modern financial innovation to support national economic development.

Abstract

This paper examines universities' role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets by conducting field research and using a policy theory approach. Theoretically, the successful policy implementation depends on several aspects such as communication, the availability of resources, the disposition, and the character of the bureaucracy. This study found that the State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Ponorogo contributed to implementing SDGs, especially in quality education and strengthening gender equality. However, the institution did not explicitly formulate other SDGs goals. Communication between the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) as the leading sector for gender mainstreaming and leadership is manifested in the strategic plan and formal and informal meetings. Resources owned by IAIN Ponorogo in human resources and social capital are sufficient, which can be found from the active involvement of mass organizations of Fatayat, Muslimat, and Aisiyah in gender strengthening activities. The rector of IAIN Ponorogo is collaborating with the Ministry of Women and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) in realizing gender equality implementation agendas. Meanwhile, the bureaucratic structure that has been developed so far tends to be egalitarian and democratic. In preparing the Strategic Plan and the Master Plan (RIP), IAIN held a hearing with IAIN Ponorogo stakeholders, including the Academic Senate, which provides considerations for higher education policies. The problem is that the IAIN Ponorogo leader has not intensively monitored the targets for achieving gender equality, especially the other targets for achieving the SDGs.

Abstract

Background/Introduction: The high divorce rate in Ponorogo during 2022–2023 indicates the importance of strengthening premarital guidance programs for prospective brides and grooms. However, premarital guidance is still often perceived merely as an administrative formality, so its effectiveness in establishing sakinah families requires deeper examination. Research Objectives: This study aims to describe the practice of premarital guidance, analyze the legal effectiveness of its implementation, and identify the family psychological impacts of premarital guidance for prospective brides and grooms at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Jenangan District, Ponorogo. Methodology: This study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model through the stages of data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results: The findings reveal that premarital guidance at the Jenangan KUA is conducted independently based on the Regulation of the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Number 172 of 2022. The legal effectiveness of the program has not been fully optimal because it has not fulfilled all indicators of legal effectiveness according to Soerjono Soekanto. In addition, the psychological impact of premarital guidance on prospective couples has not yet provided a fully significant influence in realizing sakinah families. Unique Contribution: This study integrates the perspectives of family psychology and legal effectiveness in examining the practice of premarital guidance within the KUA environment. Conclusion: Premarital guidance plays an important role in establishing sakinah families, yet its implementation still needs improvement to become more effective and substantive. Recommendations: Future studies are recommended to examine the effectiveness of premarital guidance in various KUA regions using broader approaches.

Abstract

The global economic and financial crisis has shown negative impacts on both humans and the environment. Green growth has become a solution proposed by the OECD to create sustainable development by integrating resource efficiency and environmental impact reduction. In Indonesia, despite rapid economic development, there is often an imbalance with environmental preservation. The concepts of Green Economy and Circular Economy offer more inclusive and sustainable approaches to address these issues. From an Islamic perspective, the principles of Fiqh Al-Bi'ah and maqashid sharia can strengthen the implementation of these concepts to maintain a balance between the economy and the environment. This research uses the library research method by collecting, analyzing, and organizing information from relevant literature such as books, scientific journals, articles, and reports related to sustainability and green economy. The sources obtained were then evaluated for their credibility to delve into the relationship between Green Economy, Circular Economy, and Islamic principles in environmental management, particularly in the rice milling industry. This study found that the implementation of the Green Economy and Circular Economy concepts has the potential to reduce environmental impacts in Indonesia, especially in the rice milling industry. However, the main challenges are inadequate infrastructure and a lack of public awareness. The integration of Islamic principles, such as Fiqh Al-Bi'ah and maqashid sharia, can strengthen the sustainability of green economy implementation by emphasizing the balance between economic growth and environmental preservation.
