The study sample was 20 postpartum women in each intervention and control group. The sampling technique was quota sampling. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire to measure the knowledge, attitudes, and decisions before and after the intervention. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test (p<0.05). The intervention group had an average increase in knowledge, attitudes, and decisions in choosing family planning: 1.15, 0.90, 0.65. Control group, the average increase in knowledge, attitudes, and decisions in choosing family planning was 1.10, 0.85, and 0.55. The results of the Wilcoxon test (p=0.001). Abstract

One of the key pillars of maternal and child health services is the midwifery profession, particularly in efforts to reduce maternal and infant mortality. However, in the globalized era, the challenges faced by midwives are more than just clinical skills, but also how the profession is portrayed and perceived by society, especially by the next generation of midwives. The aim of this research is to investigate at how utilizing social media affects how undergraduate students see midwifery as a profession. A correlational quantitative study was conducted involving 144 midwifery students from the Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University. We used proportionate stratified random sampling to choose the participants. Structured questionnaires were used to gather information about how people use social media and what they think about the midwifery profession. After checking that the data was normal, a Pearson correlation analysis was done. The findings demonstrated that most people had a positive opinion of the midwifery profession (mean = 29.84, SD = 3.10) and were highly interested in professional content on social media (mean = 26.10, SD = 3.20). YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok were the most visited websites. Social media use was strongly positively correlated with how others perceived your professional image (r = 0.548, p < 0.001). Social media has a major effect on how midwifery students see themselves as professionals. Adding digital professionalism and media literacy to the midwifery curriculum is important for helping people learn how to use digital tools in a responsible and moral way.

Abstract

A nutritional status assessment is a process undertaken to facilitating optimal development. Normal growth is defined as the optimal nutritional and health status, as indicated by conformity with the parameters set forth in growth charts. The objective of this activity is to gather data pertaining to the nutritional status of all students in grades IV, V, and VI of SDN 22 Andalas Padang, while concurrently imparting health education related to menarche as part of the students' overall growth and development. The assessment of nutritional status was conducted through the measurement of height and weight, with the calculation of the Body Mass Index and Age, of 110 students in grades IV, V, and VI of SDN 22 Andalas Padang. Additionally, health education about menarche was provided through presentations and the distribution of booklets. The results of the activity demonstrated a high level of acceptance and positive response from the teachers and leaders. The nutritional status of the students was found to be generally good, with only 4% of students having poor nutritional status, 80% having good nutritional status, 11% having overweight status, and 5% having obese nutritional status. Furthermore, the students displayed enthusiasm during the educational sessions. It can be concluded that the majority of SDN 22 Andalas Padang students have a normal nutritional status. Hopefully, this activity will form the basis for schools to carry out monitoring interventions for the nutritional status of school-age children and the continuation of regular activities by involving cross-sectoral partners.

Abstract

Breast engorgement is a condition in which the breasts become overly filled with milk, causing swelling, hardness, and pain. The prevalence of breast engorgement Indonesia in 2021 was 37.12%, which was the highest in ASEAN. The condition can be alleviated through non-pharmacological methods, such as warm compresses, which have no side effects. The study aimed to determine the application of warm compresses in managing breast engorgement. This study used a literature review with a scoping review approach. The study was conducted from November 2024 to February 2025. Data were collected from various digital databases, including PubMed Central, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, SINTA, Google Scholar, and Portal Garuda published from 2020 to 2024. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the data. Relevant articles was selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and processed using the PRISMA-ScR flow diagram. 12 articles were identified for analysis.12 articles were analized by thematic analysis. The application of warm compresses 5 between 30 minutes in 3 days significantly reduces breast engorgement. Warm compress therapy offers several benefits, including reducing breast pain and swelling, promoting vasodilation, enhancing milk production, facilitating smoother milk flow, stimulating the let-down reflex, and improving breast emptying.
