Abstract

XYZ company is a company engaged in steel construction. This company produces steel construction with several classifications, namely Building Construction (structure) and Mining Construction (Conveyor and Tank). This problem is found in the production process area where the efficiency of the company is not optimal because of the bottleneck between workstations. To increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks, companies use the Largest Candidate Rule (LCR); Killbridge and the Western Method (KWM); and the Ranked Positional Weights (RPW) Method. After comparing the three methods, LCR has the best results. Production line efficiency is 92.2%, balance delay is 7.8%, and the smoothness index is 14.6 with 11 operators.

Abstract

In a competitive market, companies anticipate demand and ensure product availability. However, demand uncertainty due to the bullwhip effect can disrupt a company's efforts to make proper plans. This research aims to reduce the value of the bullwhip effect to produce optimal inventory using the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) method in salt processing companies. This research uses a VMI method with a probabilistic inventory control model approach. So, the vendor determines the number of orders per period. The data type used is secondary data for each distributor and vendor from March 2023 to February 2024. The novelty of this research is the addition of product shortage cost variables, and research was carried out on distributors and vendors. The research results show that the VMI method can reduce the bullwhip effect on vendors by 71%, as well as in each distributor region, such as East Java by 71%, Central Java by 59%, West Java by 57%, Sulawesi by 67%, Sumatra by 62%, Kalimantan by 60%, NTB by 61%, and Bangka Belitung by 63%. This research helps companies effectively estimate optimal inventory for each distributor to avoid information distortion that will cause a bullwhip effect.

Abstract

Choosing the right suppliers is important for companies to provide raw materials for production in the long run. The sustainability of production activities is tightly controlled by suppliers in the manufacturing industry. A company in Mojokerto that manufactures PVC pipes falls under the plastic pipe industry sector. Raw materials for PVC resins must be ensured through assessments of suppliers. This study was conducted to determine which resin supplier was the best based on predetermined criteria. Variable include: price, quality, delivery, quantity accuracy, and service. To determine the order of preference for resin suppliers, this study uses AHP, which gives the individual a probability score for each criterion, and TOPSIS, which gives the user an indication of which supplier to choose when selecting a resin. As a result of data processing, suppliers are ranked based on their preferences. The preference values for each supplier are: supplier 1, which is 0.927; supplier 2, which is 0.739; supplier 3, which is 0.091; and supplier 4, which is 0.267. There are five parameters used in this study, and quality is known to have an influence of about 47% on the four suppliers. However, the delivery and service parameters only contribute 5%.

Abstract

In carrying out business processes in the LRT manufacturing sector, risks were discovered which resulted in disruption of the supply chain process in mitigating risks in the wiring harness supply chain. Risks are essentially events that have a negative impact on the Company's targets and strategies. Research data was collected by interviewing 3 respondents who were active employees of PT XYZ. Data processing uses the House of Risk (HOR) phase 1 and House of Risk (HOR) phase 2 models, and also uses several treatments such as determining the risk agent carried out by the handler and based on the highest Aggregate Risk Potential (ARP) priority value from the Pareto diagram. The results of this study show that there are 25 risk events caused by 33 causes of risk in the company's supply chain activities. Based on the Pareto diagram analysis, 80.85% priority mitigation actions were taken, of which 13 risk agents were proposed to minimize the most dominant risk causes. Keywords – Supply Chain, Risk Mitigation, House of Risk.

Abstract

Normalizing the drainage channels of the Wadung Asri market is a program created by the Sidoarjo Regency government with the condition that the price offered is IDR. 967,769,587.09.  The company's level of success in carrying out construction projects can be assessed by an in-depth understanding of how much construction costs are required. To maintain the company's survival, it must obtain sustainable income and even generate profits. This quantitative study aims to obtain project budget data that has been prepared in a systematic and objective manner, with an evaluation aimed at checking the extent to which the budget that has been prepared is compared with the costs that have been realized. This research involves various kinds of data including self-estimated prices (HPS), company budget plans (RAB), unit prices of work, and realistic costs incurred. The collected data was analyzed using the variance analysis method by comparing the company's planned cost budget and the realistic costs of each job description, whether favorable or unfavorable. This research informs us that the company did not suffer a loss but made a profit of 2.88% or IDR 23,180,000.00 from the proposed budget of IDR. 804,924,396.50. Following up on the findings of this research, cost planning and control must be further optimized through collecting work unit price data for each job description in more detail and detail, then research must also be carried out periodically.

Abstract

The global market competition that companies must face along with increasingly competitive market developments means that each company has its own challenges in preparing competitive strategies. PT. XYZ is a company that operates in the field of coffee bean processing. The related problems that occur are frequent delays in sending raw materials by suppliers which results in delivery delays, which means they are related to supplier selection problems. Therefore, in this research, the AHP TOPSIS method was used to conduct supplier analysis, AHP is utilized to make decisions and consider multiple factors, subsequently ranking them. Meanwhile, TOPSIS is employed to address multi-criteria problems by comparing the best alternative with the worst alternative among many options. The results of this research are that Supplier 4 is in first place with a preference value of 0.6510, while the second and third places are occupied by Supplier 1 and Supplier 3 respectively.

Abstract

Supplier segmentation is one of the most important supply chain activities for most companies that collaborate with many suppliers such as in furniture manufacturing. Purchasing Portfolio Matrix (PPM) is a segmentation method that considers two dimensions (supply risk and profit impact) which are the basis for classifying materials to be purchased by the company. Supplier Potential Matrix (SPM) is a new supplier segmentation approach that includes two dimensions (capabilities and willingness). These two approaches are important because they have different focuses, namely PPM on suppliers while SPM on relationships. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to classify suppliers using a combination of PPM and SPM and determine the appropriate relationship management strategy. Data collection was carried out in the case of one manufacturing company that works with 74 raw material suppliers. Best Worst Method (BWM) is used to determine the criteria weights in both segmentation approaches. So from the 74 suppliers, the results were 7 suppliers in PPM1, 43 suppliers in PPM2, 5 suppliers in PPM3, and 19 suppliers in PPM4 and different strategies were obtained so that this combined PPM-SPM approach was able to improve supplier management.
